What apps do you guys run in it? I'm so excited I've no idea what to install first, I thought maybe Love Live would be great to play on PC, what do? anyone tried it yet? does it werk?
>>

I don't think it's ever going to be the year of the linux, and this is coming from a person who likes linux.

Main reason is autism, people like to feel they know something when they compile things from source, so the community doesn't even care if user is not given a working file. Each and every linux user at some point needs to compile something crucial from source and gets frustrated when they ultimately fail and stop using linux completely. As long as people don't realize having everything done at user side is cumbersome, it's never going to be the year of linux.

The kernel is way better than windows though.
>>
>>52441759
Will this run apps that are tied to the Play Store?
>>
>>52442290
I think so
>>
>>52441964
Well yeah normies are allergic to technical enviroments and even experienced users can be discouraged, though I hope that more people can get interested in the linux world through little things like this, imagine if every kid who owns an adroid tablet/phone could use this, I'm sure they'd love it. Many kids start using windows to play pc games and gradually learn about the environment of the os till they become power users, but windows is what it is, it's a limited environment. Android on the other hand is pretty open, there is probably more software that was made for android since 2008 than there is for windows since 1995.
>>
>>52442290
It should, it was made for that, I tested only a few offline apps that I had on my phone though, I'm not going to use internet till I learn well how it works.

If anyone is having troubles installing or rooting this os, just ask and I'll try to help, I needed a day to get it to run properly kek.

Also, do you have any cool offline apps to recommend? I'll try anything.

kek what am I looking at?
>>

looks like vomit imo
>>
>>52442840
Wait, do you mean that's a linux DE?!
>>
>>52442923
I guess so lol. wrong thread, i wanted to post that in the desktop thread.

I dont even have a terminal. i guess i have to install it first
>>
>>52441964
I think the best chance of (desktop) Linux becoming widely adopted is Chrome OS. A lot of elementary and high schools kids use chromebooks in school now.
>>
>>52442968
terminal emulator*
fix'd
>>
>>52442840
Osx with autohide?
>>
>>52441759
did you read the tos?
>>
>>52442923
moar like WM, i guess

Anyways, YotLD for me will be there when wayland is supported by proprietary drivers, as now i've read this is not the case.
Also current Wayland WMs are kinda meh at best.
>>
why are people on /g/ excited for this?
who looks at a phone and says 'i want that! but on my computer with a window manager!'?

like seriously what can you accomplish with this that you can't accomplish with a normal operating system...?
>>
>>52442987
I have the same rights/possibilities as the non-emulated terminator, do i ?
>>
>>52441878
You'd need to map your keys to the 9 hotspots when you play a song. Not sure if it'll be any more efficient though.
>>
>>52443020
Nobody on /g/ is excited for this, just one shill.
>>
>>52443066
Depends. Which one did you like the most?

i dont know the look of all the terminals. i just installed the xfce terminal, and it works. look like win 98 but atleast i have a terminal now.

I really just want a borderless terminal with a plain pure colored background. should look like pic related
>>
>>52443165
>>52443102
it has some nice shadows too actually.
>>
>>52442977
so chrome os is not just a meme? it can actually run android apps?
>>
>>52443165
urxvt aka rxvt-unicode + compton for the shadows
>>
>>52443112
It'd be hilarious if Remix jumped ahead and grabbed more market share than Linux has now. It would really show how shitty Linux is.
>>
>>52443196
Support for running android apps isn't too great right now but they can be tested and installed with the Arc chrome extension.
>>
>>52443269
>Remix OS can run android apps
>Android is very tolerant towards piracy
>Easily running programs that cost money for free on your desktop
Every pirate in their right mind sees the possibilities
>>
>>52443208
thanks
>>
>>52443269
remix is just linux with a java virtual machine same principle as android, if people tried they could probably install a complete os like debian along the java virtual machine and have linux software run natively in remix.

>>

>allergic to technical enviroments
that's just something autistic, but not actually skilled people tell themselves to maintain their fragile superiority complex

smart people who know what to do see an opportunity for profit, while optionally holding the consumer in contempt. people like the former see an opportunity to hold others in contempt, without making a profit.
>>
>>52443511
Its the same cucks who are ok with ribbons to be honest.
>>
>>52443492
I want this.
Fuck the OS warfare, just merge the shit out of the ones i like (linux, android and a bit of windows)
>>
>>52441759
No.
It has a backdoor in it just like everything else made in China.
>>
Ok, but that interface is disgusting
Reminds me of that windows operating system
