Not sure what private trackers are all about?
The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the highest possible standards of tracker service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.
Check out the wiki and update it yourself if you want more instead of complaining like a fucking faggot. https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/Private_trackers

Remember the following:
>staff occasionally read these generals and have posted here before.
>staff may pretend to be normal users asking for invites and when you invite them, they ban you for inviting strangers
>people may report emails and other personal info posted here to staff to get you banned.
>most of the invite offers here are people trolling you with false hope - begging for invites is a waste of time and you should just interview
Yeah that's what I planned to do, but i guess theres not gonna be 4kBD rips for a while. So I would have to buy a 4kBD player to get the most out of the TV.
I only hope they cost around $500 rather than the $1000 that the first bluray player cost
I just downloaded a very popular torrent from what.cd and I'm trying to seed it, but my upload speed seems to be 0.0 KiB/s.
Is this normal or common? What can I do?
I've already tried both qBittorrent and Deluge.
Even reddit is starting to become worried about HDBits.
GET YO SKANKY WHORE ASS BACK TO REDDIT YOU WHORE!!
It's a top tracker, best in it's category with a high demand, I think they'll get enough donations even if the things get much worse (no indication of this at the moment, though).
If you want to fuck with /r/trackers, ask them why PTP doesn't allow anonymous uploading.
312c gets mad as fuck when you make a thread about that and now he can't delete them anymore.
>want to be le super exclusive sekrit klub
>it works so well that no one's getting in
>"we need monies but we want to remain le sekrit so pls donate"
Pathetic. This is why What and PTP are cultural treasures but HDB will never be anything more than a niche autistic cave.
I think giving people 10 GB per Euro is beneath them, though. They should not have had to offer that, but there it is, an incentive that not even PTP gives you.
I really think it is a sign that they need money badly.
It's not so sekrit. I got there easily after 8 months of "collecting" all the movies trackers I needed. Being a reputable member of good movies trackers helps.
>More HD content than on any other tracker, best and most productive encoding groups
>a niche autistic cave
Meme more, my friend.
How long can the top trackers survive with the way things are? I'm beginning to think that with minimal/no movement at most of the top trackers a lot of the quality users that have been unfairly banned or simply can't get in any more will find homes at other trackers which will improve massively and the balance of power will start to shift. For example, as good as BTN is, over 99% of what they have can be found at pretty much every other TV tracker. How long until people realize this and things really start to change?
Maybe you're right, but they're not begging, not changing any rules and obviously are testing the p2l field. If it's gets them enough money to keep things working, good for them.
>Join AHD you fucktard, best remux in town and none of that p2l. They don't even want your donation.
That's because AHD only has 7k members.
If AHD had 17k members like HDBits does, they sure as fuck would ask for donations.
No one cares about HD stuff if they're not autistic, Anon. Don't get me wrong, I am autismal and I do care about good quality, but you can't possibly argue that a collection of HD movies is of any cultural significance when compared to the massive archive they have over at PTP or the troves at KG/Tik.
Now if they had 158,696 torrents like HDB does, they sure as fuck wouldn't be so curry.
>they're not begging
Giving people 10GB per euro is indirect begging. It means: "we never did this before but we really need the money right now so here is an advantage over other users. Please give!"
I just don't think that this decision came out of desperation. Funny how anons on /ptg/ always overdramatize things even more than /r/trackers normies and users of trackers in discussion.
>No one cares about HD stuff if they're not autistic, Anon
Good going, Anon.
Yea they are.
Old users have buffer and feel entitled to not donate or give a fuck since they made HDB.
New users are not welcome so donations are low.
That's why when a tracker needs money has opensign or like IPT gives a fuckton of invites.
>I just don't think that this decision came out of desperation.
If they weren't being desperate, they would just say "hey we moved to Bitcoin and donations are now on a year-round basis, blah blah business as usual."
This IPT-style 10GB per Euro offer is literally curry-tier. They have pretty much embarassed themselves with this move and if you make a thread on /r/trackers calling them Pay2Leech I guarantee you will be mocked by fanboys and have your thread taken down followed by a ban.
I guess the HDBits is curry meme is funny, I can't help but taste a few legitimate salty curries looking to talk shit about a tracker they can't get on though.
The reality is that well over 50% of quality mainstream P2P content is sourced from HDBits and they open donations so rarely that people actually ASK the admins when they can donate again.
Sounds like whatcucks I know but it's a different userbase entirely. They've had a good thing going for over a decade and nobody wants it to go anywhere.
The upload credit is mostly a symbolic gesture, nobody donating on HDB actually needs it, it's easier than PTP.
Obviously, they don't want to emphasize the p2l aspect on HDB like they do on real p2l trackers. Upload credit goes as a bonus and shouldn't be the the goal. I'm surprised at all the stupidity I see here, anon.
>banned on /tv/ again
Nah not really. You can invite him to other trackers when he proves that he knows how trackers work. The WCD interview is a good basic intro anyway so it's probably a good idea for him to take it anyway.
Any good private trackers for games anymore? I used to be on the old bitgamer for a long time before it died, and the new one is fucking horrible.
So bibliotik is pretty much dead, right? DDoSed to death, fucked up royally their economy, lost a fair chunk of their users who don't know about the domain changes, let 90% of the rest go disabled due to unknown HnR rules... Jesus can it be that bad?
HDB did give buffer for donation before at half the rate, but rarely did that, just enough to run the server. Now they're saying we're gonna ask for donation all year round, because yeah we need that fucking money. Nick007 and LB06 and MM ain't cheap guys.
I WANT A PASSTHEPOPCORN INVITE!
because their mods cant keep secure passwords
Is there any tracker out there with non-retarded staff?
>BTN sometimes goes down or slow for no reason at all and the admins neglect to do backups
>Bib fails to remain online for more than 24 hours, has always been slow as shit or 503, can't into economy, loads of banned users at Elite or PU for no apparent reason
>PTP dev is literally unable to mod a subreddit without losing his shit
>Emp staff are unable to maintain a proper invite system or use an autodl filter
>What devs hardcoded a load of crap into their shitty Gazelle, forcing people who wish to use it to rewrite parts of it
And so on.
>BTN sometimes goes down or slow for no reason at all
>lol if you're not happy do it yourself
That's a shitty argument and an acknowledgement that you're doing a shitty job. But you see, I wouldn't have qualms with staff being retards at times (we all do mistakes) if they weren't such power-tripping faggots that can't stand criticism and get mad when their flaws are being reminded to them. Azacuck may be a cuck but at least he won't ban me if I call him out on his cuckoldry. Try arguing with staff on the What or Bib forums for a while and see where it leads you.
>Try arguing with staff on the What or Bib forums for a while and see where it leads you
You shouldn't do it anywhere, tbqh. And it always leads to some unpleasant consequences. Just use the tracker, you fucking mad retard.
>leads to a ban
It depends on many factors where it will lead you, but yes, you can say that about staff on any big site. You're crying here every day, m8, consider visiting a doctor, being so mad constantly is bad for your health.
>he fell for the /101domain/ meme
but you don't need to donate to download, what the fuck are you talking about anon?
question please lads, are there any seedbox providers that offer large storage with lower speeds? Say 1-2TB with 100-200Mbs?
I'm currently using seedhost and it's lightning fast but I would like to seed more and I'm not too interested in building more buffer.
I've looked around at the usual suspects but have come up blank.
Any trackers with board games/card games/eurogames that hasn't been solidly ddos'd for the past three months?
Does BCG have em?
It's not even not everything is FL they're whining about.
Donors exclusively get access to the a fucking gigantic section of the site. That's crazy. The only way to download a movie from SCC is to pay them.
Thanks for the reply but it's obvious you're not actually on SCC
next you'll be telling me the only way to get music is via "charts"
I should've been more specific, what I'm curious about is why the torrents aren't unrared, not why the initial release is archived and split, because that makes sense.
But for torrents it's pretty retarded, you want to seed and use the shit you downloaded at the same time you get to use 2x as much storage. That's quite stupid. Not my problem I guess, I've got plenty of places to download my shit from.
>[probably a few days more]
I had a realisation earlier today...
AHD was DDoSed, Bib went down, GGn went down, but not BTN, PTP or WCD.
So that's most of the top trackers except the 'perfect 3' (and HDBits).
Isn't it obvious what's going on here?
The 'perfect 3' trackers, along with HDBits, have started a tracker protection racket of sorts. The other top trackers, who refused to cough up, were DDoSed.
AHD later saw what was going on and (reluctantly, I assume) paid their dues. Bib and GGn, however, have not done so yet.
Does anyone else see this reasoning? It seems perfectly logical to me.
I'm not going to post my identity here, I don't want WCD, BTN and PTP to ban me for exposing them. :/
What can we, the users, do to fight this aggressive protection racket that is destroying out beloved trackers?
the attacks were on a much smaller scale, and did not succeed in bringing down the sites.
I'm speculating here, but perhaps this was Bib, AHD and GGn fighting back? Of course, they couldn't do so publicly because the game would be up once WCD, PTP and BTN were exposed.
>but then how do sfvs work my friend
SFV files just store CRC32 checksums of files, they're not related to archives in any direct way, despite both being used pretty often.
Besides, just use MD5 or some shit.
Anyway, if you want to avoid malicious tampering you need to get your hashes from a trustworthy source, not from the same torrent. If the content has been modified the hashes in the torrent will have been modified as well.
please refrain from making comments which derail the serious discussion he's trying to start
this is a very real issue which could lead to the destruction of the private tracker world as we know it
>elite with 100gb buffer
>I'm not going to post my identity here
If you're just speculating like an idiot and not claiming to have any actual authority or proof of the matter than I wouldn't worry; no one is going to ask you for it.
I may not have proof, but nobody so far has told me why my claims are not actually true.
Think about it for yourself; doesn't this seem like a funny coincidence?
Bib, AHD and GGn all hit with serious DDoS attacks, PTP and WCD hit with minor DDoS attacks, BTN and HDBits stay safe.
It involves all the top-tier trackers and the pieces all fit into place.
>doesn't this seem like a funny coincidence?
That the 3 specialised trackers with 3 of the largest userbases, generally considered to be the best of their respective areas, would also have a competent staff team who aren't as likely to let their site stay down for an extended amount of time? No it doesn't. And it's not like this hasn't happened to the 'big 3' either
More like find them all on Soulseek
I'm not denying that the big 3 never go down.
But Bib, AHD and GGn all have competent staff teams and they're going down/have been down.
And it all kicked off around the same time.
Everything lines up, I just find it really hard to believe that this is all a coincidence. What's the probability of three DDoSes at once?
>Bib, AHD and GGn all have competent staff teams and they're going down/have been down
Bib staff didn't even have full access to their servers (ever) until they migrated during the recent downtime. They just started working on getting cloudflare setup yesterday too.
GGn's staff are very much incompetent
Bib's staff is very competent, they just inherited a very fucked up tracker infrastructure. You can expect to see some huge improvement to the site in the coming days. Did you notice they've finally had SSL since they came back?
Bib's staff are retarded and insisted for a very long time there was nothing wrong with the code and they just needed new hardware.
If they were competent they would have recognized the need to migrate to a new code base.
>insisted for a very long time there was nothing wrong with the code
There isn't anything more wrong with bib's codebase than there is with gazelle. They really did just need new hardware, and the site problems stopped happening as soon as they got it. Obviously neither the codebase nor the hardware can prevent a DDoS though.
