I just bought a gaming PC after two years of gaming on a MacBook Air. My experience:

* Intel integrated graphics are actually decent. You can play older games and indie games. Witcher 2 and Hotline Miami, but not Witcher 3.

* Storage space. Airs have no expandable storage, which means you're stuck with 128gb if you stick to the base model. Not a lot of room for games, especially if you throw away ~60gb for a Windows partition.

The MacBook Air is the best laptop I've ever used, but it's just alright for gaming. Would recommend a good desktop to anyone into vidya.

I can play CS:GO at max settings plus antialiasing on my rMBP, in Ubuntu, at 1080p and get better than playable frame rates.

The macbook here has the same graphics processor, which is actually a capable Iris chip.

i7-4700MQ + GT755M.

It can do BF4 on Ultra at 900p, or 1080p when hooked up to an external monitor.

It even has space for 3 SSDs, M.2 + HDD slot + Ultrabay slot.
