So a 2015 MacBook Air can play Battlefield 4 on medium above 40fps
A fucking MacBook Air. It doesn't even have a fucking GPU, just some Intel HD6000 bullshit.
Not just that, there are videos of it playing GTA V, Fallout 4, and other fairly graphically intensive shit. Are Apple wizards?
How the fuck is this even possible?
So many people have shitty laptops with no dedicated card that a lot of companies are optimizing the games to be compatible with them. It's not apple, it's because of the people who know jack shit about computers.
>it's because of the people who know jack shit about computers.
It's because of people who know a great deal about computers designing better integrated GPUs and better optimized games.
Yeah but how can an intergrated GPU play battlefield 4? It's only like two years old and I can't believe it meets the recommended specs.
I mean the recommended specs, which I'm sure are around the benchmark for medium, involve a fucking 2GB GPU.
And the MacBook has a 0GB GPU.
Unless I'm being stupid I just don't get it.
No pretty sure I want a MacBook Air after watching those videos. I play a lot of Borderlands 2 and the fact it can run it on high and look cool while doing it has pretty much sold me.
I just bought a gaming PC after two years of gaming on a MacBook Air. My experience:
* Intel integrated graphics are actually decent. You can play older games and indie games. Witcher 2 and Hotline Miami, but not Witcher 3.
* Storage space. Airs have no expandable storage, which means you're stuck with 128gb if you stick to the base model. Not a lot of room for games, especially if you throw away ~60gb for a Windows partition.
The MacBook Air is the best laptop I've ever used, but it's just alright for gaming. Would recommend a good desktop to anyone into vidya.
Literally any laptop/ultrabook with an Iris gpu has the same performance of that overpriced apple piece of crap.
Asus even has the UX303 with a 940m, much better than any Intel gpu.
You retarded sperglords that hate on Macs through anecdotal bullshit stories and copypasta will never realize that they're actually capable machines.
I can play CS:GO at max settings plus antialiasing on my rMBP, in Ubuntu, at 1080p and get better than playable frame rates.
The macbook here has the same graphics processor, which is actually a capable Iris chip.
Understatement of the century.
I bought a y410p two years ago for $650.
i7-4700MQ + GT755M.
It can do BF4 on Ultra at 900p, or 1080p when hooked up to an external monitor.
It even has space for 3 SSDs, M.2 + HDD slot + Ultrabay slot.
2016 and BF4 is still the benchmark. Were Hardline and Battlefront that bad?
