Why aren't you using a future proof computer yet /g/?

Did you ever wonder why computers have cases?
If it's not plugged in, your shit is in a faraday cage.

No, i'm implying my thick, soundproofed steel case inside of my steel-framed house (get shit mobile signal) underneath a nice, thick atmosphere is enough to retain the majority of my SSD+HDD data in the event of a meh-tier solar flare.
If a big enough one hits to take them out, we'll have some bigger fucking problems than losing our porn. Like the entire power system and all modes of transport failing.

But Sony removed GNU/Linux support (it was shit anyway as they don't allow the full potential of the cell to be used).

George "gas the kikes" Hotz got it working on the PS3 Slim and with no hypervisor (full hardware exposed by otheros)

My thinkpad would survive a nuclear war.

That's what this solar flare is supposed to do.
There's only a 12% chance of that happening though.
>>52414858
They only implemented it to dodge taxes in britland.
Of course it would be shit. I don't think they expected anyone to use it seriously.
>>52414727
I'll just make a Faraday cage by then
>>52414801
you're a fucking idiot if you think this is equal to an emp or lightning bolt

Have you seen PS4 Linux? It has support for almost the whole hardware and for 300USD it's a really great price for a PC

>PS4 Linux
Neat. It's a hack though, so it's probably not very good as a computer, no drivers, and in the future you'll have to downgrade firmware to use it (Probably very hard).
I'd suggest getting a sandy i5/i7 machine second hand for $2-300 instead, much better CPU performance and considering drivers probably better GPU too.
