Related to prices. Walmart has so many skus that maintaining the whole store is near impossible. One person picks up a Tassimo machine, puts it down in the spot for coffee filters that is labeled $5. Building my desktop computer. I've never given this any thought until now but is there any difference, even if minor, between bought OS's and downloaded ones? I switched to Time Warner from Verizon Fios recently. Now whenever I torrent or even just seed files using qBitTorrent all other devices in my house are completely unable to use the internet, even when hard-wired into the router/modem.

I was thinking they have some way to automatically throttle your service whenever they see larger than normal amount of packet-sharing going on but qBitTorrent itself works fine; It's just that everything ELSE gets fucked.

Amazingly as it may seem, I've been forced to use some stupid ass software whose programmers actually decided an options panel was too complicated for lusers. Thus started the hunt for settings, which eventually led me to the fucking registry and its opaque magic numbers and its cringe-worthy M$LWSTRPZTCHAR bullshit. You want to persist some data on your program and you choose anything other than JSON -- you're doing it wrong.

I can think of an even better way to do configuration. Why reinvent a bunch of trees in some stupid opaque binary database with a bunch of access system calls just for show ("the registry") when you can literally just use the file system for this exact purpose? If your program is named x and you want to set option y.z, write it to a file located at ~/.config/x/y/z. Reading it back is just reading the file.

My cursor is extremely irregular in its sensitivity and I literally can't surf the web or use my desktop without overshooting or missing most of my clicks. When I pull it straight down for example; it sort of shuffles from side to side in a zigzag motion. It's almost unnoticeable but when you get close and do it slow it looks really suspicious. I also feel a difference in distance traveled from side-side and up-down.

It's only like this with my newly purchased mouse and not with any of my other, older ones.

Someone told me it actually might be my cloth Steelseries QcK mousepad that causes issues for the laser sensor of my new mouse but I have other laser sensors which work perfectly fine with it. Yet I feel like he might be correct when I test it on a large book. And it's not my drivers.


Should I just give up on this mouse and get something else instead? It's a Func MS3-R2 and I got it a year ago but never used it. Can't return it unfortunately.

I'm trying to make a video out of a single image using ffmpeg but for some reason it's not working.

I'm using

Ok /g/, I'm at a loss. Every single time my PC wakes up from sleep/boots up my processor's clock speed goes up from 3.4 GHz to 3.7 GHz and the voltage goes up to 1.325 from 1.2125.

I think this happened because of me tinkering with it in AMD Overdrive, because it looks to be happening because of Turbo Core. Problem is, uninstalling Overdrive or disabling turbo core only fixes the problem until the computer goes to sleep again. Any ideas on what could be happening? I never fucked with my clock speed or voltage besides using overdrive.

OK, I need a bit help clarifying scopes and globals variables in python.
I want to make a function that deletes all my user-defined global variables, and I want to put that function in a separate file/script so that whenever I want to run it I can just import that file and call the function.

I wrote the function and it works fine if I define it in the same file I'm calling it in, but if I define it in a separate file and then call it in another, it doesn't work. I mean, I get no errors, but my variables don't get deleted.
The problem is that when I call that function from another file, it doesn't threat my global variables like global (using globals() ).
Any workaround for something like this in python? Something like friend classes in C++ or something?

when windows 10 tries that shit again, open task manager, look for DWX or DXW I don't remember what it looks like its 1 of those, open file location, then close it on your TM, after that, right click, take ownership of whole file, right click DELETE. DONE. That's how you get rid of W10 bull shit. With this Take ownership file bit, you can literally delete anything on your PC.

Anyone else noticing some spooky shit with the KB2952664 update? A few months ago I noticed it was in my list of installed updates, even though I never installed it. It was also listed in the list of updates they wanted me to install, even though it apparently already was installed. I removed it, restarted, and a few minutes after it was back again. I tried again, and now the computer was stuck on the "configuring updates" for like an hour, then I just gave up. The update is still listed as installed, and in the list of new updates, it's also still listed, now saying it was released 2 days ago.

You might say, it's installing automatically, but I don't have automatic updates on, I have it set to search only, then I install them.
