>Windows 10 is shit
>OSX is shit
>Linux is shit
Literally the only good OS is Windows 7. What do we do when M$ stops supporting it?
Give me 2 reasons why Windows 10 is shit excluding privacy because windows 7 if a forced botnet too.
Go ahead, I'll wait.
You can make gnu/linux work but you have to realize you will make some sacrifices. Gnu/Linux isn't about convenience but about taking the hard way (sometimes even fun) and taking charge of your freedom.
Hey, that's fine too. I used windows 8.1 on a tablet and I thought it was the best experience between iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows. Obviously 8.1 was terrible on desktops and for the most part phones.
But the best of 7 and the material design of 8 fit well together IMO. Both stylings get the job done though. Edge is garbage. 14gb for a single tab that is just Google.com after 30 minutes. Fuck off.
It uninstalled a few programs without notifying me, when updating.
When the OS decides what programs I need installed its time to fuck it of. HAL is not welcome here. The spying on top of that forced me to install Linux mint, everything works well VPN integration once setup is better has all office stuff for work, no driver issues & its free.
Windows is fucked you no longer own the operating system, ms is allowing you to use it and doing whatever they want with the platform and the data they are collecting, most are OK with that because they're fucking stupid which is why they can pull this shit in the first place. You get what you're prepared to tolerate.
>he fell for the w10 is shit meme
>install any of several classic start menus
>install O&O shutup 10
>works just like 7 but faster
So you have zero arguments except memes.
Fuck off retard.
Kek. That's enabled by default, and your average 15 year old girl or celebrity doesn't want to mess with that shit.
>your average 15 year old girl or celebrity doesn't want to mess with that shit.
I don't think they'd care either. I'm the one who cares and I'm not a 15 year old girl or a celebrity
>>> YOUR A FAGGOT
The newest build takes a shit with latest and drivers. Thought I had a dead video card. Same driver on 8.1 and 7 works fine. I went back to 8.1 and I own a legit windows 10 key. This new build thing every few months is going to dick Microsoft in the long run.
>implying the start button is the only thing wrong with windows 8
Ok, what else is wrong? Classic Shell removes the hot corners/Start Screen boot/ and adds the start button and menu.
8.1 boots, restarts and shuts down faster (and that's with the FastBoot disabled). The Windows 8.1 theme is better than Windows 7 Aero.
>OSX IS FUCKING TRASH,
>LINUX HAS ALWAS BEEN USEFUL AT NOTHING, PEOPLE BRAG ABOUT BEING ABLE TO USE IT, WHOOO HOOO, IT HAS NOTHING UNIQUE BUT A HORRIBLE/IMAGINARY U.I.
>UNFORTUNATLY WINDOWS 7 IS THE ONLY USEABLE OS ATM. NOT GOOD, USEABLE,
PERSONAL COMPUTING IS BAD IN GENERAL ATM
BEBIAN IS OPEN... NO QUALMS,,,
SPOKEN LIKE A CUNT IN VERGINITY
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux,
is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.
Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component
of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell
utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day,
without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU
which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are
not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a
part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system
that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run.
The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself;
it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is
normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system
is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux"
distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
>pick any random osx version
>proper file picker with thumbnail view
>pick any random windows version from 95+
>proper file picker with thumbnail view
>pick any random loonix distro
>90% chance of GNOME, joke tier file picker, zero hidpi support, 2nd language input support is on win3.1 trying to install ethernet drivers tier, flash plugins refuse to work even if installed exactly according to keikaku, etc
If you say so.
Outside of the start menu it's just a prettied up Windows 7.
Hell, Metro isn't even that bad, everything's organized and laid out appropriately, and any important programs are most likely pinned to the taskbar anyway.
> what is thunar
> what is nautilus
Seriously, there's like, one file manager that chose not to implement it. And there's even an unofficial plugin for that file manager too that adds it.
>pick any linux
30 years of DE/WM support through packages, any of which you can install easy with one command
*extremely loud crickets, knowing their os lacks both of these basic features*
The other day my moms laptop surrender to malware.
I was just about to start the traditional route: Create Windows bootdrive, install (for about a fucking hour), deal with the activation process, disable the built-in botnet, lurk for the obscure trackpad drivers so the damm thing would work as intended, install the kinda useful botnet (chrome, skype, etc) and release it to have it destroyed again.
And then, it hit me, just install one of those baby first distros!
Install process blazing fast in 5 minutes
All hardware detected, no problem.
Install all my moms botnet with a single command line.
Set it to auto update on the background on start up with an other dead simple command line, no need to maintain the system myself.
They already dropped support for Windows 8. If you didn't update to 8.1, you're done (though I don't see why anyone wouldn't).
You can either keep using it, while hoping you do get fucked, or make your own, non-shit Linux distro.
>not understanding the issue
Thunar or Nautilus is not a file picker. It's a file browser.
Webm related is the problem. You can see previews of files when you click them, but the thumbnails are tiny as fuck, making it hard to find the image you want unless you organize by filenames.
I've always organized by folder structures, leaving filenames as their original 4chan structure. This was fine on Windows, but is a problem on Linux.
I still get my WinXP updates and I wouldn't want to change this system.
WinXP -> supported until 2019
Win7 -> supported until 2020
Fuck off OP for using an OS way too big for any decent work on a PC.
Also Ubuntu is shit for spying on your every move thanks to amazon. There's still plenty of other suitable Linux distros.
You sound like a fucking moron and I'm not even defending Linux. Talk like a decent human being if you want to be taken seriously.
