Any other anons here never actually use Facebook?
>>
Meme Hat (Fedora)
I've spent some time distro hopping the first time I tried Linux. Fedora was the one where I had least hardware problems and for whatever reason (default wallpaper and icon theme, maybe) I liked the GUI a bit more than in other distros. So I decided to stick with it.

never as in never-ever-run-away-when-I-see-it? no.
never as in don't have an account, but sometimes use it to look up event/restaurant pages? yep.

Gentoo since I have no life and want to feel important.

Ubuntu Wily and Debian Jessie. They work and are simple to set up.

I joined in 2010 and I have 3 friends. I only use it for a secret group between my co-workers because they're too pleb to use other means of communication. Whenever a friend or family member asks if I have a Facebook, I always tell them no.

openSUSE with KDE. Install, configure once and you're done, it's not gonna break, ever. Also KDE has so much in-built GUI configuration options I literally never even saw its config files, let alone opened them.

Debian GNU/Linux

My free software ideal, perfect balance between user-friendliness and performance, and extremely stable. I don't think I'll ever have to distro hop again.
>>
linux mint because stability and cinnamon preinstalled
>>
>>52386321
I don't get this stable thing. I use Arch, which means every damned package I run is about as up to date as they can get, and I don't have any stability issues. Updates don't nuke my configuration, nor do they kill XWindows or anything of the sort.

Am I being memed?

I have arch installed on my desktop as a dual boot with W7, and Slackware on my laptop. I use Arch experimentally, and if whatever I'm doing is successful I'll make similar changes to slack.

Slackware itself I use because its reliable and I use my laptop at work frequently.

Debian because a good package manager and repo is the only thing of value when looking at distros. Everything else can always be added on through it in almost every case.

my job requires me to use my computer to its maximum efficiency - precompiled packages won't cut it, and removing bloat with use flags has improved performance about 15-20% after switching from Arch

it isn't that hard. all you need is a little cli experience, and basic directory knowledge (cd, ls, etc.) and it's a breeze. took me two hours to install - worth.

in what way? it's not anymore difficult to run once you get it installed than any other distro. and the installation itself is pretty straight forward if you follow tutorials while referring to the wiki.
>>
Antergos because I fiddled with Arch in VMs and old computers and spent hours making it look and work the way I want before I put it on my main machine. Then I put a liveusb of Antergos in and realized there was no point to doing Arch manually anymore.

Don't wanna go through installation process and too lazy to "the arch way"
>>
>>52386390
when you run a stable distro, you are pretty much guaranteed that all of the packages are compatible with what you are running.

>config changes are backwards compatible
>different packages work together, so one doesn't depend on a new version of another which you don't have

you can safely set up automatic/unnatended upgrades on a stable system without giving a shit about mailing lists

with a rolling release distro like arch, you need to read mailing lists / check the website to make sure that you are not installing new package versions that will expectedly break shit
>>
>>52387643
same here. I will never install Arch for myself as a primary OS, because:
>takes too much expertise to install it without the guides
>even though you install it, you'll require lots of time to configure it properly
>some things are just too overcomplicated

call me a faggot, but I don't have the time/patience/knowledge for Arch. ;^(
>>
>>52387635
I don't.
>>
>>52387643
eh, i think you are feeling unnecessarily intimidated by it. go through the install in a vm or on an old laptop/computer. install arch once and it won't be a problem the next time you do it.

the basic principles are the same as with any distro, just that you're having to type in the commands yourself.
>>
>>52386390
also if you leave an Arch installation without updates for a long time updating is guaranteed to break shit basicly
>>
Arch because aur, new versions of software, etc.

But for some reason I don't trust It on servers, I feel like Debian is more tested and shit.

(Also Debian security team is fast when It comes to patch things)
>>
>>52387751

they're okay as visual novels, but the best ones are imo:
- I/O
- Steins;Gate
- White Album 2
- Subarashiki Hibi
- Remember 11
- Ever 17

It's sad that most amazing visual novels aren't being translated. Luckily Subarashiki Hibi is getting one this year though, so I'm hyped for that I guess.
