Here's a word of advice to you young kids starting our in Linux from a veteran who'se been using it for 15 years.
Don't do it.
Just get out and live a normal life while you have the chance. The sacrifices aren't worth it. Neither your security or freedom will be enhanced by using it. If you want freedom, just don't buy a mobile phone.
I like you man, but you should really just take 10 seconds to look at the poster count in the bottom-right corner!
Look! 5 new, genuine posters on a thread with 5 replies!
You're getting desperate now Ian, oh, sorry, forgot deb-IAN is dead
>Turboplebs seriously see having to understand how your computer works as a 'sacrifice'
>Turboplebs can't imagine people enjoying tinkering with computers and appreciating software for being open to that
>They then pretend to be Linux veterans advising others to live a 'normal' life of being taken advantage of by proprietary software makers
Well debian isn't really worth it anymore because of systemd
init.d wasn't perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than fucking sysv and the retarded bullshit you have to do to get old init scrips working on systemd
I actually installed gentoo so I could use init.d and portage is actually really great
