Been using truecrypt for years now.

It takes barely 10 seconds to mount the disk and is perfectly safe.

What you want would mean some shitty software that "locks" the folder which usually means it can be opened rather easily with some other software. Encryption is the only true way to hide stuff permanently
and truecrypt is the easiest software out there that allows you to do that across platforms.

Put it on desktop, change Icon to internet explorer and name aswell

Get a zip drive, and some zip discs. Then encrypt the files. That way even if someone stole your disc, they'll be left with a disc no-one can read outside a museum.

I made a TrueCrypt container, approx size of quarterly SSD backup with simple password, chuck on backup drive as "backup_SSD_*date*.tib".

Perfectly hidden amongst legitimate backups, 10 secs to mount and you're off to the races.

My wife and I look at porn together some times, nothing to hide
