>>52337803 >the work required for you to produce an apple is identical if not larger than to produce the original apple >the work required to copypaste and burn a movie or a software to give/sell to others is insignificant compared to the work of actually producing a movie or a software
Oh don't mind me, I'm just selling hardware and software at a price that's highway robbery and I know there are people stupid enough to pay for it MUHAHAHA!. I could easily afford to let people enjoy products and still be well off but I won't be happy with 30 cars and 15 houses, I need more than that. I'll tell you what, when I have 55 private jets and my own island I'll consider lowering prices, by that time the newest things should be out and I would drop the price anyways. deal? I knew you'd understand.
Do people really get booty-blasted in one thread and then make another to assert their point? For what purpose? To show their opinions on an anonymous image board to a group of people who really couldn't give a shit?
What else we gonna do? desktop threads that consist of a single screenfetch window and a shit anime wallpaper? thread bouncing dropping off a single post consisting of "install gentoo", ">>/v/", or "read the sticky"?
>>52337964 >Wouldn't that give them BETTER returns? No. This is where supply and demand kicks in. You charge as much as the market can bear, without demand going to shit. If you're a poor neet, then you are out of luck, and really aren't the target audience in company's view. They still can sue the shit out of you on copyright grounds, if they so wish.
Let me guess, you already got handed a white collar job by your rich dad and are next in line to get that promotion in the office two floors above and have the "I werked so hard for all of this, poor people just don't work to get where they are".
When I buy a set of windshield wipers...I own them. I can decide to not use them...or use them on as many cars as I want until they are broken. If my buddy needs them I can lend them to him until he can afford his own set.
They are mine and I bought them. I OWN THEM.
When I buy a windows disc IT IS MINE. I will use it as MANY TIMES as I'd like. If it outlasts my computer I'll use it on the next one until the disc breaks. If I wish to lend it to a friend to use then I GODDAMNED WILL!
It is mine. I bought it and I FUCKING OWN IT!
But that's a problem for you. You do not want me to own things. You say that disc isn't mine. You say what I paid good hard earned money for is not my property.
Since they wanted to play that game they can get used to having NONE OF MY MONEY.
Now go fuck yourself shill. And tell your boss this is the decision they made for themselves.
>>52340147 You see here's the thing. You wish to take ownership of what I PURCHASED with MY money. This cannot be allowed under any circumstance. You are a thief and a con for this. Pirating and not paying you is my moral obligation. I cannot allow you to steal from me.
And if you try to steal from me I cannot allow it to go unanswered. You MUST be punished for your crimes.
I bought the media the software is on. I OWN THAT DISC.
>>52340249 i fucking agree with you dude in principal but it simply isn't the case there was a long legal agreement you probably scrolled passed or just did not look at that states YOU ARE BUYING A LICENSE.
if you truly cared you would not be using that software.
>>52340308 Pretty much exactly how you thought. Every invention that improved fidelity, capacity, or distributability has been met with cries of the death of artistic culture for the last century. As long as these childish fucks are allowed to have their way, progress will stagnate.
>>52340278 Don't care what a paid off legal system decided to do to my right of ownership. They stole from me and I return the favor. Fair is fair. Microsoft and the others made their own bed here.
Contrast this with for example Google and their software. It is given freely in exchange for advertising. One thing given for another. The deal is thusly fair. Yeah Google is creepy botnet...but the deal remains open and fair. I know what I'm getting and I get it infinitely... Because I agreed and paid their price I can install Android or chrome anywhere I'd like or am able to.
Contrast further with Linux. It's broken and it doesn't work. Sure its absolutely free...but its still not worth it.
Osx is not a bad deal. Comes with your machine and you can reinstall it. Too bad apple the company sucks or we might have a winner here.
In the end I have needs. But the only company able to adequately fill that need literally HATES ME as a consumer. They wish to commit theft. I suppose eye for an eye is the best deal most of us can get, though admittedly slaying the beast would be better...
We simply do not have any other options. They put us and themselves in this mess. They could have been honest and moral...my disc would have eventually broke and I would buy another. But they turned thief.
>>52340366 Except TV, I forgot that one. But then again, I only download that which already has seasons on Netflix. I refuse to wait a year because I don't want to pay hundreds of dollars on a cable subscription I won't use
>>52337892 If it is a genetically modified apple, that is completely plausible. You could start growing apple trees based off of an apple you bought and get sued by Monsanto or a different company if they are the ones who copyrighted that seed.
>>52340499 Please please don't bring up this travesty of legality. It's bad enough that the phrase "limited time" has been mutated into 100 to 150 years when the whole goddam purpose is to increase culture
>>52340767 actually I've known Americans who've been here that hate the way they talk and wish they had the same accent as us (the real accent we have, not the over-exaggerated shit you see in hollywood)
>>52340854 It's a better conversation than yet another "muh piracy, muh morals" thread.
That whole conversation can be obviated by the trivial examples of steam, Netflix, and any of the dozen music services that all make tons of money. Any company fighting piracy simply is not providing a product the market wants at a price the market will pay for it. There is simply no other argument and any attempt at moral platitudes is nothing more than propaganda
> buys laptop with legal copy of Windows 8.1 > motherboard dies after 2 years. > pay to get it replaced > need to buy a new Windows license because it was saved on the motherboard. > have to buy two apples to get one bell pepper
>>52340925 Oh no, don't get me wrong. A thread started in /g/ with the intent to actually come to a board-wise, moral conclusion is hilarious. It's just opinion vs opinion and a bit of jest, then it devolves into the normal end-of-thread discussion about Trump or Hitler.
