AMD's codenames for product lines for the last few years have been rivers.
The Bulldozer based FX CPUs belong to the Zambezi line. The Piledriver chips belong to the Vishera line. This extended to the APUs as well beginning with Llano. They're all names of rivers.

The GPU codenames for GCN have been Islands; Southern, Sea, Volcanic. They've only recently changed with 4th generation GCN being named Polaris.
