I remember a few years ago it was similar tech except it was on windows and not mirrors.
The downside was the window could only be as big as they could make TV screens.

A waste is a waste, wasting money is how poor people stay poor and how the rich become poor. $150 isn't a small amount, if you're replacing existing mirrors at $150 each for the novelty of it then that's just stupid not even considering the fact it's not $150 alone, this adds to your power bill daily just to keep it on unless you want to wait for it to boot every time you're in the bathroom.

So I want to make one of those mirrors, but with voice control. Unfortunately Google scrapped their voice recognition API and now I'm wondering about a possible setup (hardware, OS, APIs).

I saw that the dude in the OP uses Ubuntu Mate. Does it support Chromium as well? I think I need to go with Chromium, because there now is a voice recognition API for HTML5, but so far only Chrome supports it. Any other ideas?

The funny thing is my computers are probably the most important part in how I generate revenue. How I spend my leisure time on something I already own anyway shouldn't matter, I didn't buy it specifically to complain on and I don't have to pay more to add that functionality either.
