Running CM 12.1 on Asus ZF2 and was having an issue with gpsd and Google Play Services battery drain, used an app called GFix from the playstore to fix it and it did, but now I'm getting a huge battery drain from Android OS, and it never did this before.
I deleted all apps I thought would have been troublesome, but it still persists, what could be causing it?

Came home from work last night and tried turning on my rig, nothing. Check cables and outlet, nothing. Checked switches and voltage. Switch out PSU cord, nothing.
I remember I have extra PSUs for this reason and remove the mobo completely from the case leaving only the CPU/CPU fan in. Plug in both PSUs and trip the power switch. Nothing.
Just for shits I check all of the PSUs to make sure they weren't fucked.
Emailed Gigabyte's RMA last night. I'm sure it's the mobo. Am I an idiot and did I forget anything?
is there any way to automatically continue downloads with filezilla in case the connection shits itself during the download? i'm currently having internet troubles and i'd rather not sit there and wait for 100gb to download on my slow connection
or imagine a world where we all had the personalities of the dwarves from dwarf fortress, and therefore hardwork actually made us happy and the only luxuries we require for ultimate happines are alcohol and an engraved public dining room
then communism would actually work
Just installed ubuntu gnome (complete linux noob) I love it. But it won't let me install the desktop so i can put files on it and what not, can someone walk me through it?
>Asus pcie ac68 adapter
Why? Target is a local ssd to prevent bottlenecks BTW. Tried different channels and messed around with pretty much every setting I could find.
Which tax type would a computer repair business be under...?
jesus, that webm was scary as fuck
When did you install it? The battery often drains a bit right after installing a ROM, but it fixes in a day (or even less)
Also; are you using xposed right now?
Jesus christ, that looks fucking awful. I can't understand what part 2 is about. (I'm a non-native english speaker)
I think it would be "Consumers' Compensating Use Tax", if I had to pick something. It makes the most sense to me.
I'm thinking of buying an CPU +MOBO bundle(pic related) which includes 8GB DDR4 RAM. The CPU is a I7-6700k, Asus MAXIMUS VIII Hero MOBO all this for 659€.
Also I just recently bought 16GB of DDR3 RAM, so which is better 8GB of DDR4 or 16GB of DDR3?
>Consumers’ Compensating Use
>Compensating Use Tax is a tax paid on merchandise purchased from other states and used, stored, or consumed in Kansas on which no sales tax was paid
Not to insult you. Just to show you
I've got a Note 3 Verizon phone, still has 4.3.2 on it (stock)
It's using safestrap to load the stock rom and I have the ability to run a custom rom too (or others)
Apparently this has changed in what method is used now. What should I do to wipe the device, that can get me the highest level android os, that wont cause Knox to flag itself (seems to be okay atm) so that when I bring the phone back to verizon to do an exchange, I can easily also re-wipe the device back to stock and not have them say "LOL NO U HACKER"
In the last thread, I asked how to solve an overheating problem with my CPU.
I went out, I bought thermal paste, and now the idle temps have dropped 20°C, which is great.
The issue now is that the same problem is happening with my GPU.
You can see the idle temp is over 60°C, but that's not the end of it.
If I booth any graphics intensive game (used Fallout 4 to test it now), the temperature spikes to 99+°C in a matter of less than five minutes, and remains there until I turn the game off.
Of course the GPU fans spin loud enough to make the computer feel like it's going to take off.
What should I do? Should I replace the GPU thermal paste too? I've bought it two years ago and never opened it, the stock paste should be still holding up fine, yet it's acting like this.
because jsfiddle wraps it into an onload event function, so it's not global and can't be accessed.
you need to set it as global function manually.
besides, using onclick= is bad practice anyway, use addeventlistener.
Speakers: Monitor Audio BX2
Amp: NAD C 356DAC
My integrated amp costs almost twice as much as my speakers. Upgrade or is this usual?
Anyone have experience with one of these plastic VR goggles?
Any reccommendations for anything better for a similar price?
In light of
I'm trying to get the most out of my phone and TrinusVR as I can. My current Cardboard is literally cardboard, and the lenses are pretty small and un-adjustable.
is it a bad idea to torture test your system by running furmark and prime95 small fft simultaneously?
does anybody know of any issues that this could cause?
ive been running for about an hour now and this is what im looking at. as far as temperatures go im a little woried about my north bridge. if anything gives me issues i think that thats going to be it.
Didn't install it, bought it with it installed off swappa, not using xposed either, tried to get into recovery butnfor some reason having a hell of a time with it, I think it's TWRP
I'm looking for a NoScript equivalent for firefox on android since the original isn't available for mobile devices.
Apple Wireless Keyboard, Magic Keyboard, and many Bluetooth keyboards that use the Apple keyboard layout work with these iOS devices:
iPad (all models)
iPhone 3GS or later
iPod touch (3rd generation or later)
So if it's a "Apple Magic Keyboard" or "Apple Wireless Keyboard" model newer than '07, should work.
LEARN TO FUCKING GOOGLE YOU FAGGOT
Anyone have experience with e-book readers?
Anything you could suggest me or at least what are the main things to look out for?
I'm currently looking at Kobo because of native epub support.
With the iphone.
It's a bluetooth cloth keyboard. The right half of the screen on the iphone is unresponsive.
Not sure if it works with cable, I'm going to a friends to test it.
It's 3rd party: "logitech ultrathin wireless keyboard for ipad mini"
I mean when it's not doing anything or doing a low yield task I can't even hear it. Then I boot up something like MGSV or Mad Max and I can hear it. Older games it stays pretty much silent. It's a platinum 750 Watt psu by the way
i cant say for sure seeing as i havent heard it but if its a constant sound then it could be a dying fan on the psu. if its not under waranty then i would take it apart and check to make sure that the fan is working properly.
Um, excuse me, but what the fuck changed about your GPU? In the last thread, your CPU was the one with the temp problem and your GPU seemed fine. now that you've fixed your CPU temps your GPU temps are suddenly up? What?
Additionally it only does this when I'm playing a modern game. Mad Max does it but the sound stops when it's on pause.
Older games like deus ex (even human revolution), ass creed games, age of empires don't suffer from it.
So is it simply not getting enough power somehow? My previous psu did the same thing before I replaced it but made the noise during idle sessions
I honestly have no idea.
Still, it's getting overly hot over stuff it shouldn't be having problems with, any fixes for GPU overheating?
Like mentioned, it's only 2 years old, should I take it apart and replace the thermal paste in there too?
99+C temperatures for 4 minutes of gameplay are way too high for a mid-high range card like a GTX760
What am I doing wrong?result = True
index = 0
while index < 4:
if result == True:
result = False
result = True
index += 2
The final answer is "True".
Index 0 = False
Index 2 = True
Since it's still below 4, aren't you supposed to add +2 again? That would make it "False" again.
I'm just doubting, or is it never supposed to reach "4" in the first place?
I recently bought a used HIS 7950 IceQ Boost (pic related). It's working fine and the temperatures are low, but the fan gets pretty loud when I'm playing games. If anyone here has ever used this card (or another card with a similar IceQ fan), could you tell me if it's normally somewhat noisy at load? Should I apply lubricant to the fan bearing or just get used to the noise?
idk if it's more /g/ or /sci/ but whatever.
Would a book make a reasonably secure one-time-pad or am I missing something? Say I'm assigning every character a value equal to its position in the alphabet, blank spaces get a value of 27, commas get a value of 28, colons get a value of 29, and dots get a value of 30. For simplicity's sake, let's assume there's no other symbols in the book and that we're starting on page 1. My encrypted message is a sequence of numbers; the first number gets added to the numeric value of the first character in the book, the second number gets added to the numeric value of the second character, rinse and repeat. If you wind up with a value above 30, keep subtracting 30 until you wind up with a value between 1 and 30. The number you wind up with corresponds to the position of the character you want on the aforementioned extended alphabet.
If I'm being retarded, please tell me why you think I am. I'm just about wrapping up my first semester of university-level mathematics and consequently feel pretty confident about making the claim that I know fuck all about either mathematics or cryptography just yet.
How do I make something like this work?#!/bin/sh
ssh -t server bash -c "'
echo "$PW" | sudo -S cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda1 Stuff
sudo mount /dev/sda1 /media/Stuff
sudo mv /path/to/stuff* /media/Stuff/
sudo cp /mnt/path/to/stuff /media/Stuff/
sudo umount /media/Stuff
sudo cryptsetup luksClose Stuff
Would something like this work?echo "$PW" | sudo -S echo "lol"
echo "$LUKSPW" | sudo cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda1 Stuff
you should be well within the recommend power draw for that. unless youve got an ass ton of peripheral devices. contact the manufacturer and do an RMA. it soulds like when you place strain on the components of your computer they start drawing more power. your psu starts getting warm from the power draw so the fan kicks into a higher gear and boom youve got your sound. either way you need to contact your manufacturer.
right now your sitting at around 500W draw under load.
do the math on the power draw in watts for all of your fans and anything not listed in the speccy. and add that to the 500W of your primary components. if it goes over 650W then you will need a larger psu.
Right I've gone and uploaded a vid so you can hear it. What would be your prognosis?
Like I said before, my previous PSU did this before I replaced it. Also it's sat on its side in an air 540 case. No rubber padding.
So it's never supposed to reach 4? makes somehow sense.
If it said "index < 6" and below "index += 5" it would make sense not to do it twice because it would be far over the 6.
I just want confirmation, that's all.
or you could try shifting it to where its not on its side. even if you have to take it out of the case. or lining the outside with some sort of sound dampening stuff. even duct tape would work to prevent it from vibrating against the case.
I have a stock Dell Inspiron 570. Would the 300w PSU allow me to add a GT 630?
How would I go about getting a higher wattage psu in that case? An rma for an identical product? fine. But I doubt retailers take "I fucked up my estimated wattage" as an excuse for a return.
I've pretty much shortchanged myself then without knowing it.
This is what I have, all enabled.
It happened after I updated to chrome 64-bit. And I can't go back because 32-bit is so slow.
Question to anyone using Foobra2000
I want to have a custom column that inserts the file directory name.
I have my music collection structured in the following way: >Drive/Music folder/Genre/Artist/album
I want the genre folder to be the only folder displayed.
If I use
it works fine, except for when there are additional subfolders, in which case it will insert the wrong one of course
So my question is, instead of going 'back' '3' folders, can I just go 'up' by 3 folders?
currently on s3 since 2013, my contract ends this month and i can get LG G4s for free with it, is it a good upgrade? is it a good phone? only one english review on youtube, says it has performance nab battery trouble
my university is using 2 different internet networks
the first one is pretty safe, you have to install a certification and use 2 passwords
the other one is like a wi-fi in a shoping mal, everybody can connect, but then you have login (of course with uni account) to use it outside of the university website, its mostly used for guests, but it is more used then the first on because students are too lazy to use the safe version
well, the IT guys recommend every semester that everybody should you use the first network because it is not encrypted, they say that other people could read all your activities
i dont know anything about wifi networks, but i would like to spy the people on it
where do i start ?
check and compare noise emission specs before you buy shitty equipment.
not wanting to be too cynical, but you better sell it and buy somehing quieter that makes you hapy, its impossible to get used to a noise like that
Right I've gone and contacted the manufacturer and the retailer on the issue. I'm probably going to RMA it at the retailer and get a refund (which I did for a pack of ram that was causing a reboot loop a while back) when I get a reply.
I'd recommend either learning some more C++ and then going through the various solutions equipped with the sort of knowledge that's gonna make it relatively easy to determine whether a given engine suits your needs and tastes or not or, even better, coding your own (2D stuff is realistically doable even for a beginner without a lot of mathematical experience). Even if it winds up being shit in the end you'll learn a ton in the process of putting it together which is going to make you an objectively better programmer - plus, it very well might be a lot of fun.
Other people might have different opinions on this subject though. It's a lot like handgun calibers; there's a few which are objectively unsuitable for anything other than fucking around at the range but beyond those you're best off ignoring the Sunni-Shi'ite-bullshit-tier cartridge cultists and just pick whatever the fuck you're comfortable with (or, in programming terms: stick to basic best practice, anything beyond depends on your personal tastes and situation).
What would happen if I were to put a CPU with a tdp of 125W in a system that has a 160W PSU? Would the system shut down from power consumption problems? I have a graphics card (hd 5570) on it as well. Would I also need to update the bios to run the upgraded CPU or would it be a "plug n play" kind of thing?
Hello and thanks for reading, willing for help
I have my Intel Pentium G3460(Dual-Core, 3.5GHz) arriving tomorrow and not sure if I should install Windows 10 or Windows 7.
My 80GB HDD is sata2, and I'm playing my all games from my 1TB USB 3.0 HDD
Should I get Windows 10(I like it more) or Windows 7
Why I'm asking advice is I have 2 questions.
Will my sata2 HDD be okay with windows 10? Or with that HDD I should go windows 7 instead until I get newer one?
Will my CPU be okay with windows 10?
Or it's too weak or something?
Thanks in advance for help!
Is it normal to sometimes get 8 ms and sometimes 200ms ping latency to my ISP's gateway?
Should i give them a call? Can they even do anything?
They might just say "Your internet is working fine, we don't see a problem".
I have my rage moments, so this'll help it last for sure then.
I've never used macros before(never had one), but I'm sure I'll find use for them.
Just wanted opinions, because idk if I got shit tier equipment. Guess it's all preference, thanks.
Any sysadmins here? Looking for advice.
I want to rent a dedicated server and use it to host a personal website. I also want to use it as off-site backup storage, ownCloud, audio/video streaming, game server maybe, VPN tunnel, basically anything.
So how do I go about it? I just sign up for some hosting company, get root access to an entire machine on one of their racks and then install the stuff I want to run? It seems simple and it feels like I'm overlooking stuff. For one, how do I make sure the server is secure and won't spontaneously turn into a CP botnet?
Picture somewhat related. I'm familiar with Linux, understand concepts listed in the senior class. I'm a programmer and I can automate things easily. Thing is I have no idea how to "manage services". I read a lot about security but I'd rather defer to the advice of more knowledgeable people in the area.
Hey /g/ I have an i5 4690k with a stock cooler. Speedfan shows me adequate temps for my cooling setup but every other program for measuring my temps shows my CPU temp to be 7-10 degrees hotter, meaning I idle at 45+ degrees and play counter strike at about 70. Who should I trust? Speedfan or realtemp/coretemp/speccy/hwmonitor?
Also how do I fix my melting MB.
Definitely agree with this. Mechanical keyboards and all this switch type talk made much more difference when I wanted to type than in gaming. I can play just fine even on laptops
what the fuck is going on here and how do i unfuck youtube?
have you tried to measure exactly what you can and cant fit into your case?
People tell me to stay away from gaming headsets.
Is It possible to use a headset and separate mic like people keep telling me on ps4/xbone ???
Well it's possible. The previous one started doing this when I started running more recent titles. I honestly thought it was just dying so I went for a new model.
So both units doing the same thing; points to a similar issue. Just did the calculations. Was coming up roughly around 500w
I can't be assed to take off my case lid and use a ruler, but I had to pry off some of the fence things on a lid so I could fit in my MSI 970, just to give you an idea.
Here's my case.
What's the best program to test HDs? I only found bootables that are branded, windows-based tools are horrible as windows dies before you can even start the fucking scan program and I want something that can, at the very least, deal with HDs with bad blocks.
I'm almost done with my first build. How many cables do i put into my video card? It's not obvious, and i dont want to ruin it.
Maybe not a stupid question but definitely doesn't deserve its own thread.
If I make a backup of the NAND, re-format the NAND and then try to restore said NAND at a later point, will it let me? Or will it fail because the content is completely different?
I think im all done, but what with this 3 pin in the center? I have no more cables to plug into it
how do I add my own user to the sudo group and why is itroot ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL
instead ofroot ALL=(ALL) ALL
If you come back I'll tell you. Also here# Members of the admin group may gain root privileges
%admin ALL=(ALL) ALL
# Allow members of group sudo to execute any command
%sudo ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL
I'm using Python with Google App Engine and it's the first time I'm using this language. I followed the tutorial and mostly everything went fine. How do I make the app check and do something once a day? Should I make some global variable storing the last time checking and get the date every time main page is accessed?
>Spend 4 something hours building PC
>Plug it in
>All lights come on, fans spin
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?! I tried reseating the cpu, plugging things out and in. I'm at a loss.
root is the privilege and sudo is the group. I'm a little more used to it being set up in a different way, (using the sudoers folder) but the name of the game is to add your user(s) to the group admin. I hope that kinda helps
>>52294127[email protected]:/etc/sudoers.d# adduser myname sudo
The user `myname' is already a member of `sudo'.
[email protected]:/etc/sudoers.d# exit
[email protected]:~$ sudo apt-get update
[sudo] password for myname:
myname is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.
is it necessary to have pip3 to make a virtual environment for python 3? i use Slackware, and there is no slackbuild for pip3, and i have little confidence in building from source... i just want the environment to make python 3 run with bpython, while still retaining use of bpython with previous python iterations.
My dad was having phone issues, so we called an engineer. While he was here, he checked our internet and installed a 6db attenuator. My dad is an overly suspicious idiot and because the second the engineer left, my dad ran speed test and was getting slightly below average speeds, he immediately suspected the engineer of foul play and took the attenuator off (I've since run speed test several times to get an average, and it seems fine).
I checked the router status and the dbmv is around 10-12dbmv. I know the ideal is supposed to be 0, but am I within an acceptable range, and what does a dbmv value much higher or lower than 0 actually affect?
How do I enable enable 'artwork caching' with foobar?
I don't see shit.
I already have one FTW GTX 950 that I received from a friend.
Now I have a 1440p monitor and now have a $250 Amazon giftcard.
Do I buy another GTX 950 FTW and SLI plus get a nice headset?
Or do I buy a GTX 980 FTW for $600 - $250 giftcard - $150 on ebay for the 950.
So, 950 SLI for free plus headset for 1440p gaming OR
980 K|ngp|n for a cost of $200 out of pocket?
Could anyone guess at how an "auto on/off" feature might function?
I'm trying to see if I could realistically open up my bass speaker and disable it (preferably without burning my house down.)
I figure it's gotta have a sensor to detect incoming signals, and also a timer to know when to shut off.
In theory, it was probably a great idea, but god damn, I don't need my technology turning itself off. My bluray player doesn't fucking 'guess' when I'm done watching a film.
Good if the buyer doesnt bitch and bad when they do.
Pic related is from today.... I sold this one a week ago...
how do I use sourceforge?
I've decided to fuck about with scheme on an arm controller and someone on sourceforge has cut the work in half significantly by developing their own interpreter, but I have no idea how to download it
i never had any problems on ebay until i sold one of my graphic cards.
>two months go by
>faggot randomly decides to file a return
>paypal account gets locked, ebay tells me i am FORCED to refund the money if the device is confirmed to be delivered back to me
>someone sees his neg feedback on my profile
>messages me telling me to file a complaint because he cucked them too
>faggots account is removed a few months later
Of course not when I used it. I dont know what his problem is which is why it sort of blindsided me.
Told him that extortion of a refund with a threat of negative feedback is a bannable offense(and you loose your right to buyer protection) and he apologized immediately.
How do I install the tewi font?
New to arch loonix since I installed it a few days ago, and loonix in general. (I have used ubuntu before, but that's as easy to use as windows.)
I used "yaourt tewi", but even after using fc-cache and exiting x and restarting it still won't show.
Yup, scammers or buyers remorse faggots get a really long lease these days.
they have up to 6 FUCKING MONTHS to file an item not as described case.
Has one kike from New fucking zeland contact me about a R9 270 I sold him almost 6 months ago saying that it was artifact and unstable.
I told him that I cant do anything and provide no warranty and that if he wanted to challenge me he was more than welcome, I knew id win since he admitted that it arrived in great shape and said he had been running it highly overclocked.
I mean, you woudlnt expect someone on craigslist to bitch after using an item for 6 months... so why ebay?
My question is pretty simple. Have you read your SICP today?
/g/, it seems that I fucked up for good.
I just wanted to do good, I just wanted to make everything a little bit better.
I tried replacing the thermal paste of my 660ti and I thought that I did a decent job (thin layer, tried to put everything as precise as possible together, yaddayadda) but ever since my PC suddenly lags as shit when playing WoW for a few min, then 120fps again and after some time again. My sound interface also seem to stop working at the same time.
I recognized that it happens frequently when I play music in background and then switch from browser to game (which is windowed, but it happens in fullscreen too). The sound also seem to work again when I unplug the interface and plug it in again but only for a short time.
The gpu driver rarely crashes too.
Temps are ok, newest driver and i tried test the card with furmark but this doesn't seem to trigger this effect. I also tried to use different music player, same effect.
How bad did I fuck up anon? Do I need a new gpu?

can anyone recommend a cpu cooler for an i5 6600k in a corsair 100r case.
I don't care if it's loud, just give me the cheapest thing that isn't shit.
would be nice if I could get it off mindfactory.de
Any idea why my phone would do this after changing the wallpaper?
Sure it will but not by a huge amount.
If you get something lower, it might not be good enough for 2560x1440p.
Basically you either get a GPU good enough got 1440P or you dont.
A GTX 960 might be ok but get the 4gb model.
Get 7 bro.
Pentium 3.5GHz can handle win10 and the hard drive has more than enough space for it, but I would go to win7 in my opinion.
If you like win10, go ahead, you'll be fine and all, but I like win7 so I would get that if I were in your position.
No, not yet
Just DL Pale Moon bro.
If it tells you "durr plug in required" on the video, click the x and you'll be fine.
Good mic + great headphones.
You can still hear your chums with your headphones in game chat and can talk to them clearly with a standing mic.
The headsets that have both have to balance out the quality of the headphone audio and microphone components.
If you buy them separately, you get the best of both worlds
>live it out take it slow, then you rock out the show
Oh I remember my first build.
The satisfaction, relief, and pride you feel when it works is amazing.
Relax anon. You're doing great.
Yep. Used some of it to homeschool my sons
Not really. I'd back that up though.
4 is greater than 3.3 mate.
I'd go with the AMD.
You can auction-purchase some ThinkPads from ebay for 5-10 bucks.
Just snipe the auction last hour and you're guaranteed the ThinkPad.
That should hold you down for college.
If you want a pc for gaming, do the above and oversell them on Craigslist.
Should add up pretty quick.
By oversell, I mean make it seem like a god-teir laptop to the average normie.
"4 WHOLE GIGABYTES OF RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY. You'd be crazy not to get this."
Upsell, upsell, upsell.
You'd be surprised how clueless the average normie is when they hear jargon from th"rtechy guys".
Other then that, take this guy's >>52294485
advice. You can do what I said in the meantime.
Use the debugger to step through the program. I use it all the time when something happens I didn't intend.
Always be sure _what_ the program does, instead of what you _think_ it does.
Help wife downloaded a free thing some sort of free Microsoft Word now pc is running slow get popups and getting new programs. shit mcafee not doing shit.
Is there a way to create a gif but have the option to limit the output for less than 5mb?
is this artifacting and should i rma ?
only game this happens in
Can someone recomend some software for Linix that just monitors webcam streams.
I have something for Windows that just makes a grid pf images based on putting the streams in it. I want to replicate this in Linux.
My web searches just turn up we can software for cameras connected to the PC, I need to be able to just add stream URLs, I don't need any other features really.
No problem mate.
Oh, right, almost forgot.
On the homepage, hover over downloads and click on "other tools".
Download some of those as well.
If you know the exact file that's screwing around with your computer or you can't delete it, FileASSASSIN will fix it right up.
Don't bother running your antivirus Notron or whatever.
Any competent malware will be written to hide against that kind of stuff beacue Nortron doesn't update as much as it should.
Malware gets written everyday.
MalwareBytes and it's products get updates everytime a major malware worm is found on the net (so...every month or so).
Don't run any of the other tools if you don't know what they do btw.
I'm 99% this will work.
The best way to prevent stuff like this from occurring is to not download clickbait crap like that, so educate yourself and your wife about stuff like this.
If you really want Microsoft Word, just get a similar software of it.
I highly recommend LibreOffice.
Free, just like Mircosoft products (Word, Power Point, Excel, the whole shabang), and it's also open source (if you don't know what that means, it doesn't really effect you).
I'd download this AFTER you clear the malware in your computer.
Ebay sells them for cents on the dollar m8.
Bids start at 99 cents. Snipe it with a 5 doller-er last second and you'll be golden
I wouldn't do that familia.
No one cares about pirating, but I still wouldn't poke bears by doing that knowwhatimsayin?
What's the best way to copy a blu-ray? I've tried multiple different softwares in the past, but all of them seem to be sketchy as shit - DVDFab being the one that always seems to come back over the years that I've been looking into this.
The most recent way I've tried is using MakeMKV to rip the movie and multiAVCHD to convert it back into a playable format for standard players, but when I do that it's too large for BD-Rs (capacity of my BD-Rs is 22.5 according to file explorer, the AVCHD the program makes is about ~24).
Honestly, I'd like to continue using makeMKV and multiAVCHD, but if I can't get around the size issue I'd like another solution.
Also, did I make a bad decision buying the WASD v2?
I need an alarm clock on my phone that turns of wifi when I wake up so I don't spend an hour on 4chan before getting out of bed.
Does something like this exist or is there another easy way to do that?
It should lock me out of internet for the first 20 minutes after the alarm goes of or so
Do power strips/extenders/adapters/these things affect battery life (mainly on my phone)?
I'm super shit at electricity, will it affect the battery life throughout the day or in the long term?
I'd like to upload my music to my server, make a beautiful web interface and be able to control it remotely from my phone across the room, what would be the best way to do this?
>Make an alarm for the morning.
>Tune wifi settings so it can only be open on your phone manually
I don't know any alarm that can do what you said, but it's the best idea I can think of.
All they do is extend electricity from the source (I don't say wall because I use a generator) and provide it to multiple outputs.
Doesn't affect battery life in the least bit m8.
I'm trying to hack a method for testing one cat5e cable on rj45 connectors.
I thought that maybe one of test screwdrivers would pick it if connected one of the ends on a router/modem but I think that its led need a higher voltage than supplied. tested it on a working cable.
any other ideas for a quick and dirt diy to verify if the cable is mechanically broken somewhere?
I always take pics and serial numbers and proof before I sell a card on ebay, twice people have bought my shit and returned their shit and ebay sided with me because I had the shit.
cat5e stp ~25meters (~75ft)
it will be a freaking nightmare to pass them through the ducts again. I'm hoping that the cheapo rj45 connector failed to pierce trough one of the wires and make contact, The pairs are properly configured (eia/tia 568a) triple checked and remade till I ran out of rj45 connectors.
I've got a 660ti, and while it's still performing fine, I'm really feeling the 2gb in some games (+mods). I can't really justify the 970, especially with the 3.5 vram situation, but nothing less is much of an improvement over my current card. Do I wait for the next gen whenever that is?
Are mini-ITX mobos/cases good for servers? I like their small form factor, I think it'd be nicer than having something larger hanging around. But are they effective? A problem I foresee is expanding the storage if there's not a lot of physical space for drives.
Anyone knows stable, trusting and cheap VPS (512mb ram) that I could use for VPN. Price limit 2$/2eur /month
Can't help you with a VPS, but I gots the hook ups on a VPN.
I jew mine so I get it for free.
Their trial gives you 2GBs of transfer space.
This is enough to download an entire zip of Photoshop 2015, so it's pretty cool. But when you exceed this, you'll have to sign up for the legit account which is $11/11Eurs.
An easy way to by pass this is:
>make an account usuing a disposable email that you can make in 1 minuet (I rec mail.com)
>when that trial runs out, you make a new account with a different email
>free VPN for evar if you repeat process (excluding DL).
They're great for HTPCs and servers. They are not so great for desktops, because one you can do things like OC or heavy use, two it is very limited on expansion ie only two RAM slots one pcie x16 slot for GPU, no pcie slots for x1 items, etc etc.
What's the best way to start programming? I've been interested for quite some time now. What language should I learn first, and are there any books or videos I should read/watch for said language? I'm looking for more web/server stuff, but software would not be bad either.
>What language should I learn first?
Python is one of the easiest to be honest. Great for beginners.
But let me tell you this: You do not want to heavily focus on languages, but HOW to program.
If you learn one, you can learn other ones better, but that's completely useless if you don't have a good foundation of general programming.
>and are there any books or videos I should read/watch for said language?
For books, SCIP. Literally the Bible for /g/ and I scan see why.
For videos, there are literally thousands of videos for C, Python, C++, etc.
All you have to do is look anon.
I literally googled "How to program" and went to the videos tab and boom.
Literally google it. That goes for books to0.
Most books/videos are written for complete beginners unless stated otherwise) so you'll be fine.
If your planning to go to school for it and learn that way, DON'T.
Learn BEFORE you go.
Or else you'll be thrown into the fast paced storm of the curriculum.
Hope this helps you bro
Having trouble with adobe photoshop. I want to crack it but it knows that my trial has expired, it knows this even when I disconnect from the internet and reinstall it. Where does adobe put the file that says I've already exceeded the trial?
If we are only talking about getting shit done (putting technology as a hobby aside), why doesn't a cheap laptop with xubuntu installed with all the essentials suffice? Why do I see threads about buying advice or specs comparison and so on? isn't the point of a computer to be reliable, cheap and replaceable whenever is needed?
No prob. Been in your position so I know how it feels.
Rereading my post and I want to clear up any confusing I might of made.
1) Ignore my typos, I feel dumb finding 3 of them.
2) When I said:
>If your planning to go to school for it and learn that way, DON'T.
I don't mean "Do not go to school".
I mean that you should have basic to intermediate understanding in programming, computery stuff, and whatever BEFORE you even think about going to school, just like any other major/study.
Employers like seeing that the programmer goes to school (even though it's a tad bit unnecessary), but they will trip over their shoes if they see a good portfolio.
If one has a bunch of projects done under their belt, is proficient in programming (or web page stuff, whatever you go into really), you'd be a shinning star in their eyes.
But you might be thinking:
Hmmm, what are projects?
Projects are whatever you make.
You can do bounties in GitHub (programmer central) for money, experience, and for fun.
Looks good on a resume if you list all the projects you've worked on from that (that's what I did).
Another thing is that if you put on your application that your gay, they'll DIE to have you there because of AA and diversity quota stuff.
Sure it's lying (if you aren't gay), but who cares?
Might as well exploit the system because you can.
Full proof as well because, well, how would they prove that your not?
But let's not get ahead of ourselves here, you still have to START programming right?
I just remembered a website that's pretty cool for straight up noobs in coding/programming.
Would I start there? Nah.
Watch some youtube series and all that to get some understanding o it, THEN start coding.
Want more advice? Ask around /g/ and GitHub.
Good luck bro.
I wanna shrink my disk, but that block at the end is in the way. How do I move it safely?
How does it know? What do I need to delete in order for my to run as trial and crack it?
uninstall, run ccleaner, reinstall, then crack it. if that doesn't work, get a better crack or try the 2014 release by chingliu, which works fine for me. it's just a single amtlib.dll
Listen here you little shit.
Seriously though, can you recommend anything that isn't like $500 or some shit. I'm a poorfag who just needs something moderately okay.
