Can my older asus p8h67m pro motherboard equip a GTX 980? As far as I know, since it's PCIe 2 and the GTX 980 runs best on PCIe 3 it's innocent as it's just about the effectiveness.

Are there more requirements to placing a newer video card in an older motherboard?

PCIe is backwards and forwards compatible, any PCIe card can fit work in any board, only the bandwidth is throttled to the slowest link, but for PCIe 2 vs 3 it doesn't matter because at the moment cards don't use a enough bandwidth to where PCIe 2 will handicap performance.

Beyond that the only thing you need is a power supply with enough watts and 2 6-pin connectors.

I know for a fact that they're wrong, I've used an oculus rift on this machine many times. I don't know what they're basing this on. Posting so people know this test is a bulshit tool to get you to click the "buy computer" button.

Fairly certain my AMD FX-8350 will work just fine with the rift but it and my USB are where I'm failing. Any idea what they base the pass/fail on?
