IT'S HAPPENING

>buying razer
>literally ever
fuck off shill
for a eGPU setup it's rather large
I like razer laptops
They make Mac quality but with windows
>>52266280
so it's going to bend and get 100 rootkits
>>52266045
If you want to game. Get a PC. No compromise.
This is actually quite cool as a concept at least, also that the GPU enclosure is upgradeable is really neat.
I mean this is enthusiast/too much money grade kit but it's still neat.
I foresee some issues with the usbc connector though, what if it gets yanked out on purpose or by accident while the GPU is in use? There are some really clumsy people out there.
>>52266045
It's a decent idea, but almost pointless. If you're gonna have that box around then might as well have a desktop.
>>52266806
It's good for students (with money).
You get a computer that can play intense games, AND you get a very portable laptop to take with you.
Alienware did this first and they said you can put your own GPU in it. What's the big deal?
>>52266973
Pretty sure Alienware uses a proprietary connection, and their GPU case is about 2-3 times bigger.
>>52267005
Don't know about the connector but it's not that big.
>>52266045
I wish I could have this with my macbook pro.
>>52266045
wow, as a Mac user I gotta say it's sexy, that colorful keyboard is beautiful, I wonder what the laptops specs are without that meme external gpu.
>>52267096
the specs are literally on the link OP provided
>>52255966
That exacly a point moralfagot. Same with c p
Not using clound gaming ec2
>>52266806
What if you wanted to take it on a plane?
>>52267120
nothing special, it's just a small ultrabook, but the design is amazing, I with they make a 15 inch model with dedicated graphics and the same amazing design.
>>52267169
You can take computers on the plane, if the case fits the carry on size requirements. or pack it in your luggage.
would graphics or cpu going through thunderbolt be a huge bottleneck?
>>52267195
nah, shit's fast, the biggest bottleneck is the 15W dual core meme CPU.
>>52267185
Not with a medium tower, that shits way to big for carry on.
It's far too dangerous with all the thrashing around for luggage.
Though mini itx is suitable for carry.
>>52267185
enjoy having dead battery in 10mins
>>52267195
Thunderbolt 3 has equivalent speeds of PCIe 3.0 5x.
>gay men products
>giant case
>nearly the size of some mITX cases
>totally kills system portability
>not even convenient like a dock
Why would you buy this instead of an mITX desktop? You might as well go that extra step and use a dedicated CPU while you're at it instead of the thermally constrained ultrabook part. Just turn your laptop into a host monitor with a junk keyboard attached.
What a dumb concept.
>>52266045
>razer
kill yourself.
>>52266738
the site says you can connect that thing without having to reboot the laptop, so I guess you can disconnect it as well.
>>52267398
being a poor indian cück must be suffering :')
This isn't actually completely awful, other than the really shitty "muh gaymer aesthetic" branding to it. And for the specs/size, it's relatively decently priced.
I'm just confused why going from 128GB SSD to a 256GB SSD jumps the price $200.
How badly did they fuck up by having only a dual core option?
>>52266045
nice hardware but it looks like NEET bullshit with all the bright lights and the price is higher than buying quality hardware from apple. why bother?
>>52267492
they're just stealing the iphone model. The smallest storage option is obviously too little, so people will get raped on price for a small increase. The smart people will just upgrade it themselves, but sadly you get raped into the 256gb if you want the 4k screen.
Plug n play thunderbolt 3 egpu will be a thing this year. They won't be locked to specific laptops either. As long as you have a certified egpu compatible laptop with tb3 ports, it should work.
>>52267522
the shit is soldered to the mobo. you can't upgrade it.
>>52267574
Checking the spec sheet, the SSD's are M.2's, which are user replaceable.
It's just a matter of how complicated the assembly is on how feasible that is(ie: Surface Pro 3 being held together by glue, making it virtually impossible to swap its M.2 SSD).
>>52267522
$1400 for a 4k ultrabook with an i7 that I'm assuming is in the 12.6'' range isn't completely awful, though.
Cheaper than the i7 XPS 13, at least. It's just about half an inch wider and foregoes the sexy as fuck bezel/nicer design.
>>52266045
Cool laptop, razer
How is Razer still alive
>>52266829
at a price that could get you both anyway.
>>52268174
pro gaming still memeing their gear hard to 12 year olds. They also have products in a dickload of general retail stores now at 4000% markup of cost to manufacture. They do alright.
>>52267086
Won't this work? If you have TB3
>>52267805
that fucking theme...
>>52267805
>that fucking theme
>>52266738
Alienware has had this shit for 2 years
I would just get a desktop and a laptop. Who would want to play games with a 13 inch screen and shitty laptop keyboard?
I-is that a thunderbolt GPU?
I'd be really fucking happy if it where a thunderbolt GPU.
>>52270291
>Type C
FUUUUUUUUCCCKK
/g/ doesn't care about laptops, most people here never leave their basement so there really isn't any appeal.
