Foxconn has been given $12 million in government subsidies to avoid mass layoffs.
Is it finally happening?
Maybe they're moving production to some other third world shithole. Normally I'd be happy that apple is messing up but I don't think they've had financial or marketing trouble in years.
Ending certain product lines
Moving a lot of production and assembly to USA
I work here
That's really unlikely, I don't see a reason why they'd suddenly switch away from China where there's companies that have virtually built themselves around manufacturing cheap parts for Apple.
I work in rocket propulsion manufacturing and I'm pretty tied in to the entire US precision machining/CNC/automation industry and know many of the suppliers of Apple's production machinery. Those of us working in this industry would know at a minimum 2 years in advance if Apple was moving/building that kind of infrastructure stateside.
The 6S and 6S Plus were a joke. Force touch was bullshit, literally no reason to upgrade.
Now that apple has a large screen phone, there's nothing left they can do, barring resurrecting jobs.
>They'll just tout the iphone 7 as revolutionary and a huge jump in performance even when it isn't, give it a new faggy design and release it in more countries in the first week and sales will go back up.
