El Capitan gave me this thing where my internet would stop working until I toggled my WiFi off and on again, then it would stop working again in 7-10 minutes.

This started happening around the time I got a new ISP so I thought it was my modem's fault but yesterday I discovered there were some people with the same problem so I dumped that piece of shit.

>>52243355
Not willing to sacrifice my video editor and trackpad gestures for Windows. I play games on consoles so I'm not worried about that.
>>
>>52243390
You again, eh?
Where you in the beta program?
I opted out of it and didn't have any issues anymore when the latest non beta update came out.
>>
>>52244357
Were you in the thread I made yesterday?

I did test the beta but the damn thing got stuck while swiping through desktops so I reinstalled Yosemite at the time.

This time I did the same. I just hope the new OS X Will be better, I won't update back to El Capitan even if they fix this.
>>
>>52243304
El Cap works fine for me, must be an issue with your network :^)
>>
El Capitan has been nearly flawless for me. I had the same wifi issue start up recently but I just deleted the wifi settings and rebooted and things are back to normal.
>>
Do you like to eat shit from your hands?
>>
>>52244492
I read some people had the same problem.
Like >>52244525

>>52244525
I just didn't want to deal with that not working or happening again. I've been running Yosemite for two hours and I haven't been disconnected once.

>>52244548
I've never tried, is it any good? I figured out you should know.
>>
>>52244565

The rate at which you service cocks per day, has it gone up or down since the downgrade?
>>

why are non-os x users such priggish creeps?
>>
>>52244777
I can guarantee those two use Windows and have mouses specifically designed for "gaming".
>>
>>52243355
Mac is making a comeback senpai
>>
>>52243390
I've got a Macbook Pro, I had the exact same problem, but it was present in Yosemite. When I upgraded to El Capitan it has only happened a handful of times, compared to every time I opened the computer on Yosemite.

I had similar problems on a Windows laptop some years ago. It's baffling that manufacturers can't get such a simple thing to work as Wifi, especially if they don't have Ethernet ports.
>>
>>52245354
That's weird, I installed Yosemite the day it launched on my previous laptop (2010 White MacBook) and it came pre installed in my 2014 MBP and never had a problem with it.

In fact, this is the very first problem I've ever had with OS X since I made the change like five years ago.
>>
>>52243304
i had problems too, so i finally did a full wipe/reinstall of el cap about a month ago.

hooo boy
, shit's fast now.
>>
>>52245579
Really? I chose not to trust it again and just went back. My boot time on Yosemite is much faster. 11 seconds compared to 16 on El Cap.

Just for curiosity, what are your specs or what Mac do you have?
>>
>>52245650
>>
>>52243304
are you enjoy the lag?
>>
>>52245663
Welp, it might be because of your i7.

I want a 15 inch so bad but it's so fucking expensive. Even if I had the money I'd get a 5K iMac instead just because it isn't worth it.
>>
>>52245695
lag has literally nothing to do with storage speed.
are you really that retarded?
>>
>>52245688
i stand by my recommendation for upgrading a clean install to el capitan.

gf has the same specs as you, and it's quite outstanding

reasons for el capitan

>metal api in use on the system apps
>system integrity protection
two huge reasons right there, but there's more
>split screen view
>more virtual memory for graphics card
>longer battery life

El Capitan is much faster and stable than Yosemite on my computer.
>>
>>52243390
Yep, it has trouble with dhcp. I fixed it by leasing a static address to my machine.

>>
>>52243304
Thought they fixed it in 10.11.2
I just clean installed el capitan after being paranoid that I got a rootkit cause I forgot to turn on SIP again before installing pirated software.
Good thing there's timemachine backups m8
>>
I recommend a clean install too (of 10.11.2, which fixed most of the issues I was having).

>tfw 5 years old Mac
I can't really justify getting a new one, although the increased battery life of the new models and at least 8 GB of RAM would be nice.
>>
>>52247972
Can't even imagine using El Capitan on 4Gb of ram. I couldn't live with 8Gb always on swap with normal use... Mission control hangs on start when swapping... It's painful to remember.
>>
>>52248044
It's a spanishfag he probably needs to sell an humar organ for a GB of ram.
>>
>>52243390

It's not the OS, it's some program you're running that is probably using some sort of geo-location verification
>>
>>52248044
>need at least 8gb of ram with swap to run el shitan

And the slowest performing *nix OS of the century goes to....

bullshit. El capitan runs smooth as fuck on the 4gb mbp my sister has. Yosemite was where it lagged like shit
>>
>>52248044
It doesn't lag here desu and I rarely hit the swap. I do most of my work in Vim and the terminal which obviously don't have very big memory requirements. Also this is not a Retina display so the UI compositing and animations are not as demanding. El Cap feels as smooth for the most part as OS X Snow Leopard, which was the OS that came with this computer.

I am still on mavericks and have noticed a weird issue with firefox, sometimes when something loads from 4chan (usually the update script), it will fail and my whole computer will lose internet connection until I close the tab or otherwise stop the loading (refreshing and then stopping when the page has been unloaded etc). Then everything will work fine.

Any idea whats going on?
>>
>>52248103
True that
>>
Mac performance has gone to shit recently. I'm thinking about going back to Mavericks or Snow Leopard. Good thing I boot Ubuntu too in this Mac, which runs a hundred times better than this bloated shit.
>>
>>52243304

Go back to Mountain Lion and you will be even happier. Yosemite and El Cap are both laggy and buggy. I miss Jobs.

>>52244777

Searing jealousy. Poor people get like this.
