This is my computer, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=83-798-486
I want to get a video card that's more for gaming that's around $100. Any suggestions? I'm looking at this one, http://www.memorydepot.com/detail/01G-P4-2751-KR.html?gclid=CPXFl5GikcoCFQyPaQod8L4Ivw
While you could do quite a bit better on used market, this card should do the trick, altough i'd go for 750ti or 950 if psu is on the weak side.
If psu ain't half bad go used (if you're ok with used) r9 270, 280.
280 would be quite a beast should be a bit over 100 but it would also be quite a bit more powerful.
It's thirsty tho, so if you're on a sub 450w psu drop that down to r9 270 or either gtx 750(ti preferably) or gtx 950.
shut up you fucking faggot yes you did. you cant just say some stupid fucking argument just to be ebin memelord and then say you didnt do it. fuck off back to /v/ faggot.
750ti is listed on newegg for $129.99, should be versatile enough and get driver updates for a while.
check to see if your PSU has a spare 4 or 6 pin connector (it doesn't look like it does). if it doesn't then the 750ti is definitely a good choice as it only requires power from the PCI slot (fact check that before you buy).
You don't really have much choices OP.
That's about it unless you can find a low profile 5750 used. (which will be much slower)
Oh wait, there's a low profile 7770. It's around 66% the speed of a 750Ti for 66% of the price.
The 250X is a rebranded 7770. I'm not seeing any low profile 250Xs, though, only the slower 250 at the same price as that 7770.
Sorry about that
Here you go OP. Low profile video card under $100. Low power consumption too so no extra pcie power needed. It gets all it's power from the pcie slot itself.
For unmodded Oblivion and older games, the 730 should be enough to push decent settings/fps.
benchmarks were a bit difficult to find but this was a benchmark for the Zotac GT 730 with 1gb gddr5 like In my past post.
No, just no.
PCI Express is backwards compatible and cards aren't very much PCIe bandwidth constrained. 1.0 would still be fine for this class of cards.
I only recommended gt 730 because price, power, and LP. They make an r7 250 (nonX) for $93 and LP as well on newegg. If OP doesn't care about closing the case and will just lay it down with the side off, he can get whatever fullsized GPU within his budget/power supply can handle.
The 250X alone shatters the 730 in price-/performance already. Super low-end just isn't worth it.
At least post something from the real world :^)
In addition, here are some with one slot, albeit the cooler is bigger than that.
72$(.99 :^)): http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-112150020g
It's a shame they apparently don't make some decent low-profile cards anymore. I remember a 7750 with some tiny fan and heatsink back in 2013
If these >>52244284 also won't fit, then he'll be actually stuck with meme cards.
Here are some that might fit:
That's the best I can do. Otherwise he should go for some second-hand low-profile 7750s if he can fine some.
Not sure if theres already been a debate but you can find 750ti <$100 pretty easily. I just got an OC'd version with 2GB for ~$95 new to put in my gf's pc. Newest "demanding" game she has is probably FO4 or MGSV and it gets a respectible 40+fps on medium-high. I feel like I've seen people talk about getting them on BF for like $70 or so
>Thread already full of replies
>Not reading them
>Not even reading past the title
>At least one guy in this thread already did this as well
Le neo-/g/ meme :^)
None of them is gonna fit.
The cheapest 750Ti on pcpartmeme as of currently is also 106.99$.
OP your pc will be a frankenstein PC and you'll love it.
open that case up, duct tape the psu to it, fuck cable management, acquire gpu and game.
buy used shit on craigslist. had a guy trying to sell me a 680 and a 670 for like 100 and 120 the other day. 280x's and 7970's are cheap fun. 770's have fallen in price as well.
