Pc parts come in today any tips on how to not fuck it up ?

Keep a hand on the case/power supply so you're grounded, and RTFM.

Make sure you put in the io shield and take care of the stand offs, and focus on cable management if you've got the room. Other than that, dont go full /v/tard

Make sure to clean all parts with water because their is sometimes some dirt on them.

Make sure to put thermal paste on the socket before putting the processor to prevent overheating.

You can touch bare metal. Inside of a case usually, or a power supply. Some cases won't work, though.

you can touch the case, but that's not grounding, you're just dividing the charge of your body equally with the case
if you want grounding you need a physical connection to ground via a special connector that only has the ground pin brought out or a regular mains cable connected to the psu
