But that's all relative. If your hand is already on the keyboard, of course it's easier to use keyboard commands to close the window. But if your hand is on the mouse, the mouse will always be faster.

Funny how most people don't tell OP how to do it.
Even under linux (I am a fucking noob) I searched like 3 or 4 months how to rice the desktop (just sometimes like 10 minutes from time to time) and didn't find anything. The damn solution was just to install awesome-wm and give it a little bit color in one of the configs.
Seriously it made me feel like an idiot for magically not knowing it (now that I know it) but it really is a problem that we don't have good ricing guides for people that have never heard of compositors (or what that actually is) and WM/DE things or how to even rice and use them. You are pretty much fucked if you -for example- set up debian with any wm and try to remove that and install another one if you don't know anything about it at all.

I read an Arch wiki on WM starting with openbox then I read i3 documentation and learned how to them when I finally done a sucessful first rice I was completely done, said and I quote "Why the fuck am I doing this, it isn't worth it and its not comfortable for me" then I went back to Mate because gnome 2 is great in my opinion

I have no idea how to make a good rice on Windows and I am at awe with the dedication some ricers do to get windows looking like that. I rice my Linux i3 desktop and have made it look like how I want it. With no gaps even though people object to that. It seems easier on Linux because no design is forced down your throat.
