I have a dell ultrasharp, and it is pretty awesome.

CES basically starts tomorrow, so you'll see a lot of new monitors in the next few days. I'd hold off, new monitors means the older ones will get discounted.

Why not get the 25" 1440p dell monitor?(u2515H? Not sure) Really good price/performance imo + you have more space for programming with that resolution
>>
>>52225492
Wouldn't have even thought of that, thanks for the suggestion

This, except I'd go for the 27" one. Shit is GOAT.

1440p, for not a bad price plus its a nice monitor.

Qnix 27" , OC'ed.

>>52228504
The 27" one is significantly worse in price/performance, at least where I live.

What's the best monitor/ (tv?) for anime? I want it to look the best possible, anything under 1000 bucks.

Are you looking for resolution or refresh rate? 144hz is noticeable if your hardware can utilize

Sony PVM-20L5

Broadcast CRT, 20", does 240p/480i/480p/720p/1080i. Has analog RGB and component video inputs on the back, as well as composite and s-video.

but the 25" is extra nice because >muh effective ppi approaches retina
27" 1440 is just like a bigger 1080.

and, with 25" 1440 you don't even have to adjust your dpi scaling if you're running 1080p next to it like you have to with 4k (which doesn't work in windows)

retina is a meme anyway, and in this case the trade ppi for size is justified. 27" on my desk looks glorious, I'd never go back.
>27" 1440 is just like a bigger 1080.
That holds true for any screen size

I have a U3415W

I'm selling 3x S2415H monitors. Will sell to you for $150 each. Oh wait, you live in Canuckistan. Unless you want to pay the shipping for that.
>>
>>52229766
That's USD btw, so $208 CAD
>>
>>52225116
just bought the U2415. If you don't mind sub-2K, it's a really nice monitor.
>>
>>52229024

Contrast ratio interpretation is different across every manufacturer. It literally means nothing when comparing monitors of different brands
>>
>>52225116
I use a U3011. Couldn't really ask for more.
>>
>>52225116
you can overclock U2415 to 80 Hz, it's pretty good for the price ...
>>
>>52229744
how the hell is it a meme? my 1080p is disgusting compared to the u2515h. the difference in web browsing is pretty minimal but in games and photo editing it's really fucking big
>>
>>52229855
How are you this retarded? High ppi is no meme. 'Retina' as in, 'all ppi below the one arbitrarily decided by Applel are disgusting' is a meme. 1440p monitors all have higher ppi than 1080p monitors of the same size, so the only argument here is 25" vs 27". Everything else you said makes no fucking sense.
>>
>>52225116
benq gw2255.
i got it for $75.
va panel, better than tn shit.
>>
get a 144hz one for gaming duuude
that means it displays 144 times per second instead of the usual 60, much better for smoothness
