>still the best phone
only thing it lacks is battery life
I've used the OPO for about two weeks and then went back to the Nexus 5
The only thing the OPO has that is better than the N5 is battery life
But touchscreen responsiveness was crap, software was buggy, camera wasn't any better, was too big to be comfortable.
OP here, I've uploaded the wrong photo, this is what I meant
Got the 64gb Nexus 6 on the black friday for 250
The camera is ass in general (my old Note 2 is better) and AMOLEDs look great but burn in a little bit. I wish they would have went with the LCD screens desu since I like to listen to podcasts on YouTube
Everything else is top notch, though. Qi/Wireless/Fast charging options are great, battery is top notch, and the everything is snappy. It looks like it'll last me 3 years at minimum if I don't break shit.
So I'm sure that plenty of people here have the 6p. I sold a Nexus 5X on craigslist recently because the mushy power button triggered my autism like nothing else.
How's the power button on the 6p? Is it clicky and satisfying, or is it more like the 5X's?
I can never tell if you're serious or not. I used that shit for 2 months when I lost my M8. It was the absolute worst phone I've ever used, no contest.
Performance was shit
Camera was disgusting
No space or SD card slot
Multitasking may as well not exist because no RAM
So irrelevant that the official app store shut down
99% of apps are keyboards and browsers
Touchscreen was pretty bad, really greasy no matter how much I wiped it
CERTO CHE È LUI
va che non fa cagare la camera
Move aside. Most powerful coming through with the exterior toughness to match (titanium grade 5 alloy)
Lol at plastic phones
Lol at alumium phones
Even the nokia 6700 classic was made from stainless steel
This lumia is fucking shit. Once upon a time eir standing feature was the camera, once upon a time, now apple and samsung both have better cameras. Get cucked windows phone. Theres literally no reason to carry a windows phone anymore. Anything. That can be done on the Windows phone can be done any other phone
I want to buy a new phone but since i'm poor i'm searching for a good budget phone to replace my Nexus 5.
At the moment, i'm considering these options :
- Oneplus X
- LG G3
- Moto G 2015
- Sony M4 Aqua
Which one should I take?
My battery life with N5 is 2-3 days with average usage, 5-6 with only occasional e-mail checks and replying on facebook messenger.
If you turn off everything stupid useless thing you don't really use, you will get much better battery life.
true story, I turned off tons of stuff but I think it was mostly turning off automatic brightness control (setting at like 5% still looks great in most conditions) and I get a full day of moderate use.
Still spies on me and reckt freedom tho
You can't completely escape the botnet. All you can do is behave nicely on this kind of systems and do nasty stuff on others.
Try disabling nfc, google assistant, location related stuff and set it to only sync apps and photos when it's plugged+wifi on. Your battery life will be much better.
>Kit Kat 4.4.2
>Octa core, nothing lags at all, stronk GPU, all games run fast
>7hrs SoT out of the box
>6 inch master race
>finger print scanner master race (bla bla botnet has my fingerprint)
>way better camera than Nexus
>Just as customizeable as Nexus 5 due to King Root
>FULL METAL JACKET
Get rekt son
Huawei is on top, and google noticed it
I had a nexus 5 and got a moto x play after my nexus got fucked up, I'm really liking it so far.
-Almost pure stock
-I haven't noticed lags (but keep in mind I don't play any games on it)
-I don't really use the camera too much but it's better than the nexus 5's camera
-Battery life is pretty good, I'd say I feel free now with a good battery. Look at what I got yesterday (picture)
I've got a Nexus 5 but it's falling to pieces. I'm thinking of either going for the Nexus 5x (£300) or the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact (£379). What would you recommend? The smaller size of the compact appeals, and I imagine Sony's build quality is better than LGs, but I do like the Nexus line.
Is it worth getting the LG G4 at $510 when the LG V10 is announced to be released in early 2016 (I'm in Sweden, we don't have the V10 yet) at $770? What's your call? I need a new phone fairly urgently as my current one is about to give up on me.
I'm in need of a new phone since my M8 no longer reads the sim.
I'm not looking for anything high tier, want to spend £100 at the most and the only things that are really important to me are decent battery life and web browsing. A half decent camera would be a bonus, anything on a par or better than the m8s would be fine, prefer a nano sim so I don't have to wait on a replacement and if remotely possible a removable battery, but that's not 100% needed.
Is the build quality of the Nexus 6P really that bad or is it just a meme? Thinking about getting one but I'm not so sure now.
Yea, so far had Nexus 4, 5, and now 6. Probably no more Nexus for me after since it's gone to shit.
Fuck tin can backs
Fuck assload bezel
Fuck removing wireless charging
Fuck no OIS
definitely feels like more quality, but the Nexus 5 just works better. I would get random bugs on the OPX, the screen would not be as responsive, scrolling would stutter, couldn't use PIE controls, no 5 Ghz Wi-Fi, no NFC, no wireless charging, no OIS
It does do a few things better, like the speaker and call quality, gestures are very useful
Same here, dont like lg/sony since i hate on screen buttons. Go opx friend switched from 5s and is happy so far, dropped it first day and nothing happend (got lucky i guess). I think about OPT but its a bit more expensive and nothing special except fingerprint sensor
So the G4 is out of the question? There's a campaign right now so I could get the G3 at $272 compared to the G4 at $510 and the V10 at $770. I do have the cash for the V10 and I do want a great camera (which is why I was looking at the G4 because that's supposed to have the same camera as the V10 for still shots, right?), but just because I can cash out a lot of money doesn't necessarily mean I have to.
No it's not, the v10 and the g4 picture quality will be the same ( v10 might be better but slightly ) but the video recording is next level.
If you're about good camera and less money get the G4 .
>there are people here shitting on OPO
>not having an OPO with sultan 6.0.1 rom
>even considering a phone with the most ROM support only to choose to be bent over by stock
if you want a new phone, your only option is the vodafone smart speed 6. check to see if it's unlockable. camera seems okay from what i've seen.
they also have the moto g for £89 - around £120-130 on other networks. stock may be low.i
Download black screen of life on the play store. When you put it face down it uses the proximity sensor and turns the screen black, leaving the background sound playing. I use it on my nexus 6 and use it all the time. Definitely a must if you watch video podcasts on an AMOLED display.
>Sd card slot
>5.5 inch 1080p ips screen
>3GBs of ram
>No sd card meme
>Non removable battery
>"Let me upsell you on some Google Drive space"
I'm looking for a phone around the £200 price range to upgrade from my shitty HTC phone that sanjay made me regrettably get.
What's a phone with a good level of storage, good camera quality and fast speeds etc. Also possibly one that can be rooted so I can rice shit at some point I guess.
sadly, no. but apparently all the little windows blogs are calling for people to just make some so we can sideload it.
It's clicky, and the phone is great in general. The perfect phone, though, would be iPhone 6s Plus hardware, plus 1-2gb RAM, running Marshmallow. You couldn't get better than that.
Only thing that the OPO is lacking with respect to the OPT is the fingerprint sensor for unlocking. That shit is cash. Otherwise, OPO on CM13 nightlies is still awesome.
-Sent from my stock Nexus 6p
so after a few days of confusion, I've come to the conclusion that the reason my Galaxy s5's display will only sometimes come on is it needs to be warm. If it's not on and I rub it enough or put in my armpit or some shit, I can get it on. Now the question is how do I fix it? I would send it to get repaired, but I've flashed custom roms in the past and i'm worried they'll just send it back when they see the knox thing is tripped.
I've read about that mod. Looks cool but my phone is kind of in crappy condition so I was considering replacing the whole thing anyway.
Also I wouldn't say it's the only problem.
Camera is still way too slow. Flash is utter shit as well. Before all the retards on /g/ spouting, "GET A REAL CAMERALOLOLOL," chime in: I have a real camera. I have more money put in lenses for my DSLR than probably at least half of /g/ does on their PC. However, I'm not going to walk around every day with a DSLR strapped to my face. Camera phones are all about convenience and it's nice to have a really fast one.
The speakers are also really shit. Really, really fucking shit. It's pretty lame if I want to show someone a video or I don't have my IEMs with me (or simply don't want to use them).
That's pretty much my big three gripes. Otherwise I've been pretty happy with the phone.
I considered getting a Wileyfox but apparently it's a broken mess right now and I am scared to jump on it.
are the most near stock I guess.
Couldn't you just install stock android on any phone?
You might as well have jumped on Nexus 6 while it was 200 or 250 bucks new on amazon. Not only do you get your stock experience up to marshmallow at the moment, but also versatile GSM+CDMA unlock as well.
Zenfone confirmed for shit, even the souped up model is riddled with an awful boot update that leaves half the screen responsive but vertical bars
I will buy a new phone next month which one of those is the best between them?
htc one m8
I'm looking for good performance, good battery life and and microsd slot.
I looked at reviews and shit and it looks like the m8 might be a good choice, am I wrong?
chatting with a normie
>ooo, can't wait until tomorrow, getting a new phone :3
>An iphone, can't stand android any more, I need apple back
>What can an iphone do that android can't?
>I just prefer the OS, I've been using iphones for about 4/5 years so it just feels natural
I try to give apple users the benefit of the doubt, but they don't seem to want me to give them that chance.
If they like it, what's the harm? I can understand preferring the OS of the Iphone. It's fast as fuck and fluid. Not to mention the phone itself does look great.
No I don't own one, and I haven't ever owned an Iphone.
Fantastic battery life, a good camera that's a bit too wide-angle and just a nice feeling/looking phone in general
How shit is the 5X actually compared to the regular 5? All the videos I see are like this
I'm coming from a nexus 4 and was considering getting the 5X but if the forced encryption slows it down so much I might as well skip it.
you must be doing something wrong. Are you pressing the power button first?
if you have usb debugging enabled, you should be able to connect to a computer and fix it without losing any data
I can also add that it only reboots when charging, otherwise it's dead. I can boot into bootloader, but it restarts just a second later so I don't have time to do anything. And since it restarts so frequently I can't connect it to my computer either.
BROOOOOOOOO this JUST happened to me. Nexus 5 has a HUGEEE power button issue and it gets stuck down like on the motherboard. its not something you can fix without resoldiering a new switch. mine was doomed for the trash and rebooting to no end and the only way to fix it was to rip it open and pry off the power button. now it works fine but you have to short the connections to turn it on and I remapped the lock/unlock to volume up. hope it helps
like i said here the power button is stuck. youre fucked (i had to rip it off) unless smacking it on a table works. I have heard of people hitting the button really hard and that helping.. I opted to just pry it off completely
And just as I post this, after hitting the power button pretty hard, it works again. But I'm guessing this will happen again so I probably should look into buying a new phone. What should I get?
LG V10, it's the best overall device on the market today.
- removable battery - CHECK
- microSD expansion - CHECK
- fantastic display - CHECK
- good/great battery life overall - CHECK
- arguably the best camera + stock camera software = CHECK
- arguably the best stock video software with manual mode = CHECK
- IR blaster = CHECK
- QuickCharge = CHECK
- KnockOn/KnockOff (which nobody does better than LG even today) = CHECK
and on and on. The rest are nice (fuck the iPhones and their walled garden BS) but just not up to the job as well as the V10 is.
And the G5 will be even better.
>tfw 700 dollars for a phone in Sweden
I fucked up while installing paranoid android.
Whenever I boot I just get an unspecified error.
I can access the bootloader but selecting recovery mode gets me the same error so I can't wipe and reset to a factory rom.
Is there a better price:performance phone with expandable storage other than the OPX?
Sooo, just bought an OPX.
Someone tell me how big of a moron I am, please.
Owned my for a good month now, lovin' it. SD card speeds were poor, but I switched from an old Sandisk Extreme to a Samsung Evo Plus and my speeds are much better. Great all-rounder, although I would be very much tempted to pay a premium for a Nexus 5X if it had expandable storage.
Here's a slightly dated pic of my rice.
>Samsung EVO MB-MP128DA
No. The Evo Plus is an enhanced model of the Evo. Evo isn't bad, though.
Various people reported issues with SD card reading on the OPX, the only issue I had personally is lagging in switching tracks in PowerAmp, but it has been remedied.
If the price difference is small, you might as well cancel your Evo and buy an Evo Plus, just to be sure.
battery is quite fine as well
and Cyanogenmod without gapps is not botnet
so you lose
I cant get this for around ~150 euros
Would anyone recommend it?
Heard it sounds like shit with earphones and it will come whit shitty vodafone bloatware
My galaxy s6 keeps freezing, anyone else have this problem? Someone on here reccomended it to me when i used to be an apple fag.
If i have to get it replaced whats another reccomendation, i want to be able to install whatever i want so i can emulate games
Yes. AF Wall to minimize battery use. Disable all google apps like play store or maps. Disable vibrations most of the time. Not much calling will look like this
6.0.1 spark kernel N5
i regret getting a droid turbo, and i especially regret updating it to 5.1
fortunately kingroot has made progress with it, though there are still some issues keeping root access.
G4 is 5.2'', isn't it?
I think i've read somewhere that they wanted to increase the size, but idk to what extend. But yeah, reaching the back, let alone the handling, will be a pain.
My Nexus 5 won't last much longer.
Should I buy another or get an xperia z5?
I will be buying the phone so the price difference is obviously massive, but does the zperia z5 offer better performance considering how much more I'm paying?
i'm dubious about sony. their support forum is full of complaints about phones dying, connectors coming off, rear glass breaking and so on.
i was going to buy a z3 compact, but there are hundreds of complaints about it on their forum. and sony's customer service seems non-existent.
i've known that sony (ericsson) had shit build quality and hardware issues going back to at least 2005. how they haven't rectefied this 11 years on, i do not know.
what happened to supposed japanese engineering quality?
Are there websites (or a guide) that tell you what typical data usage might be?
I've never had a phone contract before and am wondering if 2GB a month is enough. I'm not expecting to stream Netflix on commutes or anything. At the most it will be Youtube videos, email, Facebook/messanger services and possibly music, but realistically I'm going to have my own media offline anyway.
Don't use youtube, it'll eat through your data like a bitch trust me.
Look at pic related, after maybe 20 minutes watching vids.
Well, if YouTube is out then it will be FB, emails, messaging and maybe some 4chan and BBC news app. I suppose I can just play it by ear and adjust my usage accordingly though.
I'm not going to be tethering or anything like that.
GUYS GUYS THIS JUST IN
>Exynos 8890 or SD820
>new camera technology
>comes in a normal and big screen size
I'll probably be called a shill for this but Samsung has perfected smartphone hardware. The S6 was a small step backwards in some ways but this fixes everything that was wrong with it, and makes it better in every way.
TouchWiz still sucks though, but it's bearable with the dark AOSP theme. AOSP and CM will come to the SD820 version though.
I want an Android launcher that satisfies these requirements:
* iOS-style single tray with horizontally swipable pages (no separation of homescreens and tray) and separate fixed "dock" at bottom
* Doesn't attempt to be a shitty clone of iOS icons/fonts/aesthetics, I don't want that
* Supports widgets, ideally by mixing them in with the icons
* Fully supports folders
* Isn't horribly slow
* Isn't ad-ridden/malicious
Does such a thing exist? I googled it and I see a few but they all have names like "SUPER iOS 8 Launcher iPhone Style" from companies like "Best Android Launcher".
htc m7 owner here, should i wait for the snapdragon 820? i'm fucking tired of this purple tint shit.
Love my N5. Thinking about upgrading though. I'd switch to iOS but I have way too much invested in my Google account (I think I've purchased every Final Fantasy game on the play store, and I have save data I can't lose)
Is the 6P the best Android out there? It looks like it.
Well you could just slap your icons on the homescreens and hide the app drawer button, although I understand if that would trigger your autism because it sure as hell would trigger mine
Problem there is that it would be easy for the state to desync, as it were. Apps could get installed but not added to a homescreen, icon could be removed from homescreen but app still installed.
I recently picked up the Huawei Ascend G7 because I'm a broke-ass student who can really only afford $50 up front with the rest going under my mobile plan.
But I went from a 4.5" to this 5.5" and the difference is harder than I thought it would be. Plus I really don't like their UI.
But I'm pretty much stuck. Either I stick with this and go for the Moto G 3rd gen [and be stuck with the 8gb edition], or the Xperia M4 Aqua.
Huawei does this all out of the box with their own custom UI. I personally don't like it, but it sounds like you would.
5X is stupid when you lay it on the desk or something.
Put it in a case that makes it flat then.
Considering a xperia z3+ or Z1s. Not sure on sony
Can't spend over 350 and looking for something somewhat customizable with sd card slot and 5.0-5.5 screen and decent processing but having trouble
You don't use the Play Store? Why? Because you have no use for apps, or because /g/ told you to? If you really want to abandon Google Services, flash a custom ROM. They aren't allowed to include Google Apps in the ROM, so if you want them, you need to flash them separately.
Is Oneplus really worth it? I wanted an OPO but it's out of stock and the X is kinda the "meh" version of it
