In order for the code to be traceable the code must correspond to that printer somehow. The print head must match the printer via serial number or something. So what you do is change the print head to another. Do your dirty printing and then switch back to original.

Printer companies are willing to help the government only so much. They're not going to waste money making every $40 so well that someone can't get around the system.
