Old one is dying
Are there certain model M keyboards that should be avoided or are they all OK? There's a IBM Model M 1395665 for sale near me for $50. Is it worth it or not, g?
I'll just leave this here and then head to bed.
Is that an IKEA desk? Been looking for a replacement. Although I might just visit the fleamarket again in hopes of finding something similar but roomier. This one was 15 euros.
Did someone say they wanted spaghetti for dinner?
Oh hey, early.
r8, h8, deb8, mastrub8
Just got a mech. New pic tommorow.
And now a money shot. Will get a better pic up tomorrow. Took this one on the fly to show a friend.
Got the Enthoo Evolv for christmas but I'm still waiting for Granite R2.
R8, H8 and Masturb8
Nice cable management but your floor and walls could use a good clean. 7/10
Music Brazilfriend - 6/10
Wrong sized wristpad/10
i regret buying this "expert gaming" keyboard
i like the case
I'm torn between purchasing
Which one would you guys choose? Also, what is you experience with Newegg's "Open Box" deals?
I'm actually 6'.
>Trying to make up for poor eyesight and under-average height by shitposting on 4chan.
And now I must decide between a van or an ITX build.
are pc's worth it? could use 900€ on one.
Also need to change that micepad
Hey, /g/. I've been looking into buying myself a monitor but I'm overwhelmed with the choices. I play almost exclusively vidya and sometimes other stuff. Some things I'm confused about:
>Does refresh rate matter past 60Hz? Will I notice? Seems like a buzzword at this point
>What are some brands to stay away from in terms of poor quality?
I've been considering a few options so far
>Asus VG248QE http://www.amazon.com/VG248QE-24-inch-LED-lit-Monitor-response/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1419572619&sr=8-2&keywords=asus+vg278he
Kinda pricey for my tastes, not a fan of the glossy bezel either. Plus it seems overkill to me.
Leaves me a bit more money to buy other things. Build quality kinda looks cheap, but something tells me I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this and the Asus.
>Any Dell Ultrasharp
Do people play vidya on these? Does it fucking matter? I've been using a shitty HP 22 incher that's 1680x1050 and is ugly as sin. At this point literally anything is an upgrade. I'm also looking to mount whatever monitor I end up buying. Help me, /bst/.
Driving a van to deliver pizza is very inefficient on fuel. Driving alone is fun, you're just afraid of doing new things in life. And it's not hard. Go to the DMV and you'll see the strangest and dumbest people on earth and yet they manage to drive a vehicle.
no, i just dont game that much, actually i just play some stupid pixel games or smash melee on the gc. But with the new metal gear coming up im definetly considering one.
no I'm terrible at it, I'm not very good at multitasking and paying attention to what's happening on an active road is problematic, I might just buy a decent bike to get around, but no good folding bikes exist.
Got a new Rosewill keyboard, first mechanical keyboard I've owned and love it.
I'm this guy. I've settled on buying two of these monitors:
Am I making a good or a bad decision? I understand that this has no HDMI-in, but I'm not too worried about that.
Ah, but it doesn't rotate and the lower part of its frame is much larger than the other rims. I plan to gather screens as time goes on, and this won't do for vertical stacking.
I have and haven't noticed anything special. Doesn't help that I travel so frequently.
please clean your fucking shed
it's fine that you live in a shed, i'm not judging, i don't know where you are in life
but i'm begging you, throw away the fucking garbage and tidy that mess up
Just go to a gym couple times a week if you actually care about your heath and fitness. Standing desk without having core/back strength is much worse than sitting and having back support. Coming from /fit/, I think they're absolutely pointless. At the most, go with a kneeling chair, and even then, its a bitch to sit in and you have to be diligently sitting perpetually upright. It is good for your back, but I would only recommend it to people who already have back problems and are over the age of 30. Joe Rogan is a prime example of someone who uses it for this 3 hour long podcasts.
Before I went to uni, I worked as a cook when I was a teenager. I stood all day. It didn't bother me. This is not about health, it's about comfort.
For every article that says standing desks are good, I can find one that says they are bad. This fucking sucks.
If you like standing and you don't have lordosis and feel comfortable standing static for hours, with maybe a few breaks and stretches in between, then yeah go for it. It definitely isn't for everyone though. People with shitty lifestyles and self-discipline will do it in a way where it's worse than sitting in a chair. Don't get me started with treadmill/spin bike stations.
zip ties, velcro strips and patience. It's also a good idea to buy new cables, longer than you think you will need, since most people use stock cables that are way too short. Use string to mimic cables for precision.
make sure your case has ample room behind the mobo tray for storing cables
figure out where each cable plugs into the mobo and orient them accordingly (do this as you add each component, doing it all once you have everything put in is nearly impossible)
just hide them, cable management is great until you have to actually move/work with your shit
Cable management is a bit iffy, there's next to no room coming out from the power supply where the hard drive cages are so you kind of have to shove everything in there. If your power supply is modular you have to plug all the cables in before inserting the power supply into the case. Good news is that there's a decent amount of room behind the motherboard tray and the velcro straps make the push-pin doors on the case easy to close. Other than that there's great placement of the cable routing holes with some convenient ones to route the USB 2.0 header and HD Audio Headers coming through the top of the power supply. There's a few issues with the placement of the power and reset buttons in relation to the side panels but that's easy enough to solve by either moving the case out from the wall by a couple of centimeters or by using the motherboard option to allow you to wake the computer via a keyboard press or mouse click. The same goes for the front USB 3.0 Headers which I'm not gonna use and instead buy a powered USB 3.0 hub and route it round to come out underneath my monitor.
Overall it's worth the money you pay for it, the panels are plenty thick and the sparse sound-proofing seems to do it's job even though I have a total of 8 fans in the case.
I've currently got the NH-D14 which is probably the biggest cooler available. There's a clearance of 192mm from the motherboard that the NH-D14 needs so I'm pretty sure the Dark-Rock Pro 3 will fit just fine and dandy.
Why is Amazon so based?
Free one-day shipping.
Looking forward to those new monitors.
its not much, but its more than I ever had growing up, so I'm happy
I ordered a power supply from amazon to Australia and when it got here it was faulty, got onto customer support and they gave me the money to buy a new one because it'd cost 80 bucks to ship it back to America to have it inspected. Based Amazon is based.
How was everyone's Christmas? For those who celebrate the holiday anyways.
Also r8 m8s
Lights on. Cables could use some work but I'm moving soon so fuck it.
Looking good except for the mess, and the crappy quality I guess.
>mind-bending vision from the director 'wa
I'm curious, mind telling met what that is?
Is that a recliner? Is it practical with a desk?
Is that an AT2020 you are using there? If so, what arm is it placed on? If I don't use one of those shock absorber holders, will it record every little bump or thing that it can pick up while hanging on that arm? Thanks in advance!
Ah, that must be it. That was a pretty good movie indeed. I've never gotten past the first half of watchmen because I got bored, but people keep telling me it's great, I should give it another try.
Never early. Shit camera edition
I have this exact picture saved from a long time ago. I like your station, but how does it look these days?
>Get brand new t61, perfect condition, godlike.
>Unbox, unwrap and begin.
>Newuser Password ______
What... mfw "incorrect password"
Seriously what the fuck is up with these 5.1 tin can speaker setups aligned in front on the desk? Not only do these sound like complete trash but it makes no sense to put a surround setup only to one direction. Just get a good set of stereo speakers or go all out with a proper surround setup.
Anyone have a recommendation for a good monitor arm that can clamp to my work desk?
I just got myself a Dell U2415 but I have less room on my desk than I thought.
Actually I meant the theatrical version. I liked the directors cut much more. Probably why I haven't chucked the thing yet. But seriously the thing is like 8" tall what was I thinking?
Can't wait till the Logitech g502 arrives.
I'll take a new picture once it gets home.
I ended up choosing the G502 because it has some extra buttons near the left click and it will be really handy for some keybinds in ArcheAge.
I found a friend who'll buy the sensei for 25€.
It was good. Only thing keeping me playing it is the friends I made in the game.
The game is still fun, don't get me wrong. But a lot of people quit because of some problems with hackers and exploits, so a lot of servers are almost dead (mine is) and you can't transfer your characters.
It's also fun if you enjoy growing crops and livestock to sell the materials you get off them. It's kind of a jack of all trades game, fun to play w/ friends.
I tried posting last night, but after fiddling with my router I ended up picking up a banned IP. Mods approved my appeal, though, so that's nice.
Shit quality i know. Finished building today
GTX 780, i5 4670k. rig itself is like a year and a half old now.
Didn't want to make a dedicated thread and this seemed the best place to ask. Where can I get a dual monitor stand for non matching monitors? Since they're non matching I'm afraid they won't match height wise so I'd prefer something with separate height adjust.
I'd like to know this too. I want something sturdy with the possibility to rotate the displays. I currently have a 24" gayman monitor and a 27" Korean one with somewhat large bezels. In thinking of upgrading the Korean one to a 32" 4K monitor when a suitable IPS or VA panel launches but I need a very sturdy arm for it. Silverstone had one pretty cool model, haven't seen any others.
yeah, they have that type of connector on them
have no idea what you'd do about the cable though if it doesn't come with one though aside from solding your own ps2 cable in there.
Did a bit of cable management behind muh monitors
6/10 for yourself. Books look a bit messy but good job on the cable managment
6/10 replace that small ass screen pls
7/10 during night, 6/10 during day.
10/10 on the blue hue picture, 7/10 on the other one. How did you get those lights? I've been looking for things like that to finish my station
7/10 nice CRT.
6/10, speakers tick me off for some reason.
5/10. Those cables mang
Figured i'd throw out some rates because of the amounts of pictures i posted here. This is one of the better ones that i managed to take. That lamp rules
Last time you recorded your voice for me to hear the quality, I would like to buy a microphone like that, could you post your microphone setup, including arm, popfilter etc..? Thanks!
I'm using a Rode PSA1. It's an excellent microphone stand. Very flexible and has tension to it. I am also using a shock mount. I am using an AT2020. This microphone is really nice for its price, but if you're trying to use it without a shock mount it will pick up everything, literally everything. I highly suggest buying it with a shock mount.
Just finished building this new rig, right now I am updating and optimizing the fuck out of it!
I just bought this chair off amazon like last month, it's fucking shit.
>Poor build quality
>Misaligned bolt holes
>Rocks like fuck
>Padding deteriating after 1 month of use
The arms are pretty food though, at least there's that.
Guys, I've got a question for you. Right now I'm using an ok PC. Spend about 700 Euros on it and I can play most games on Ultra. My monitor is 1920x1080 (~24"). I also have a mid priced 2.1 sound system.
I use the set up for games and I browse a lot. What should I upgrade? And how much should I spend?
get 24" 's instead. no regrets.
got mine from some office doing CAD who upgraded their shit and heritated of a 1600x1200 and a 1920x1200 panel.
...it's annoying, it's a 24bpp. you get the raw thing and i often say "you should add some Gaussian blur in that sky, the gradient hurts my eyes. trust me you'll see that if you get it published."
to be honest it happened to me, i blew a transistor and a resistor, nothing much critical since i connected a pair of Jamos in addition of the vintage Siare speakers. it couldn't hold an hour of Fear Factory but it's an easy fix. god tier amps does never fry.
how did you kne...
hmph. might be the poning or the keyboard variant. let's test if i remember my trip.
There is a HUGE difference between 60-120/144hz, not a buzzthing. Everything feels so smooth and soft. But it's a curse, once you see 144hz, you can't go back
Asus and BenQ are both great for 144hz. Dell if you want high resolution screens
In have the VG248QE, and there is not a single regret so far, except that I want the 27" model now, but that's because I can't get my screens big enough. I've had it for a year now
Don't get an Ultrasharp if you game so much. It will be buggy in most games, and is only good for coding/graphical work.
Get the Asus one.
My babies. Two Samsung 2K Syncmasters, and my Asus N-series. (and an HTC One M7)
16 GB DDR3
750 GB EVO 840
750 GB HDD
Point taken. I use a headset. Regarding keyboards, I'm still looking for one. Not gaming that much, just programming. Any recommendations for a decent keyboard without bullshit LEDs?
Right, I seen this for like a month. I think you should set up a donation drive so /g/ can buy you a new table. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for you. I mean your using a little caesars pizza box for a mouse mat for goodness sake. I hope you can keep warm through out winter anon.
I reckon I change my setup at least once every fortnight
>talking about not knowing anything
>said by idiot gamer
Ok, you keep pretending to know anything because you need it to make you better at your video games
So I got a gig recently that I need a third monitor for (embedded linux dev).
I have two choices:
Buy plebteir gateway 22", 1080p - $99
Replace my vert 25" samsung 1080p with a 24" Asus 1920x1200 and retire the samsung to grund work - $230
Nice song bird, i hated infinite but i have most of the merchandise for all the Bioshock games.
MFW you think I'm kidding.
You bought into over hyped shit. Throw it away when you find a few pennies to scrape together.
This looks pretty cozy and a good use of limited space.
Merry Christmas, /g/. Here's a pic from five seconds ago.
>in the process of replacing my Razer gaymen shit for real peripherals
>going out for more zip ties to finish that cable management
>stopped using that awful galaxy s3 and got a droid turbo
>Sticky notes reminding me to keep my cool in WoW arenas on monitor
Well, I'm finally improving. Still shit but it's getting there.
