Iris has problems pushing these many pixels. It's better than the Ivy Bridge chips Apple used in the first generation, but you're much better off with the Nvidia 750M.

No idea, but it works for me and I can play Dota 2 on pretty low-medium graphics; that's the extent of gaming I do.

I'm not sure if it's Iris or my i5, but I cannot Skype vidchat and watch a video or browse 4chan/tumblr at the same time; Skype uses every last resource of this machine and it fucking sucks.

integrated doesnt pull much power at all. i got about 6-7 on integrated and 3 on dedicated on my 2011 with an ssd. dont expect much difference, there is no 100% no reason to use dedicated anyways unless you are hitting photoshop hard or going to an external display

I bought a late 2013 15" and it's served me well in my CS courses. Xcode is a pretty nice IDE, and the terminal has basic functionality. Try to find one used and save some money.

I own a 17 inch 2011 Retina display. And while the form factor is super nice (ugh, so thin and simple) it's kind of a waste of money.

The hardware spends so much resources on keeping up the crisp display. And if you're going to lower the resolution of the mac for better performance, what's the point of getting a retina display? Plus the memory and batter are soddered in.

I definitely have buyers regret. I could have easily spent 1500 on a laptop with comparable specs, and had a better desktop with the saved money.
