well, they lost their key market share but don't get me wrong, I have hope for them.

I think what they really need to do is fill the enterprise gap by making the blackberry the go to business phone that companies will consider before Android or Apple.
They need the phone OS to have a set of enterprise appealing applications. These services should be centralized with the blackberry experience and offer security and stability over features and fragmentation like Android. Would make corporate phone deployment easy again and get them up and running.
>>
>>45662238
Windows Phone getting serious also destroyed Blackberry. A phone that runs Office and all the corporate server integration? Perfect.
>>
this was the last good blackberry.

now they are cheese-slice shaped pieces of shit for "business professionals" - except, oh wait, all businesses on planet earth have transitioned to android or iphone.

>>
>>45661835

>>
>>45662573
right
every company is jumping on the mainstream consumer bandwagon but if Blackberry focused on its core niche corporat market and made a phone appealing to the sysadmin that has to outfit the company with secure, well integrated, and restricted access devices it could recover.
With iOS you have to go through many steps to make it a corporate phone, like expensive monitoring/service restrictions. Android is not secure by nature and again needs to go through a long process to be deployed at a large company.
>>45662594

>>
>>45662593
I doubt that you ever actually worked with your phone. Trying to get anything done with an iPhone or an Android is such a gignatic chore its unreal.

BlackBerrys always were for people who mostly work with their phone and thats still the game. I take BB10 over fucking Android or iOS any day of the week. Who gives a shit about apps? The last game I played on my phone was fucking Snake. I dont need a million image filters or 10mpx cameras. What I need is a device that is comfortable to use, has great build quality and runs the apps I need. Since those arent many, theres literally no downside to using BB.

In fact, due to the physical keyboard the devices only have upsides. I wonder when people will finally understand that something like the Passport isnt supposed to win iPhone customers.
>>
>>45662680
>Who gives a shit about apps?
the people giving money to apple and google, presumably
>>
>>45662708
But thats not even the case. I know a truckload of Android and iPhone users and none of them use that many apps. The only reason they buy the phones is because they think that at some point in the distant future they might.

It seems way more like a "have and not use rather than need it and not have it" attitude.

The majority of the apps that people use are fucking pointless anyway. As if a college kid whos about to head to class needs to know the exact temperature, humidity or wind speed. Fuck these faggots.
>>
>>45662680
>I dont need a million image filters or 10mpx cameras
or online banking apps, or office suites, or messaging/collaboration tools, or file hosting/cloud-storage tools, or bespoke/in-house corporate apps, or basically anything that could comfortably reassure a person that their device is actually useful and has promise beyond the pre-installed applications
>>
>>45662751
>this kid is seriously implying that BlackBerry doesnt offer alternatives or has the ability to run APKs anyway
When was the last time you left your cave?
>>
>>45662740

'it just rings and you answer it' limits the potential of a device to the os and pre-installed applications

whereas apple and google, in embracing the consumer market, also happened upon the idea of 'why can't you do [x], let's make it so you can' and thus you get things like siri. you might say 'well why would you _want_ [feature available elsewhere]' but that's somewhat missing the underlying point of 'why didn't rim see this opportunity'
