Do you have any? Which one do you want? Share your experience and post cool pictures.
>>

that tiny one looks neat as fuck, I want one, where get?
>>
>>45578698
It's a Cheerson CX-10. It costs around 18€. It's not mine but I want one.

There is a lot of other one and you can have a cool collection for pretty cheap. (http://youtu.be/obo5ae7n5lk)

There is bigger ones and very expensive one too.

Nothing you make with a 3D printer will be light enough or strong enough to use for this. Buy a hobbyist frame and stop wasting your time with toys.

b-but there are already a few designs that have been tested and work
>>
Bought a revell nano.

Flew it into a wall because for some reason it accelerates faster than it breaks, even though it's fucking synmetrical.

Now one of the engines only fires up half the time, what do?
>>
>>45578770
That thing is beautiful
>>
>>45579256
does it fly well when it does fire up?
if you spin the prop with your hand does it seem harder to turn than the other 3?
might just be loose wiring
>>
>>45579308
When it does fire it's fine, as far as I remember. Managed to lose the charging wire and it's some weird ass type I've never seen before.
>>
>>45579301

It's a marvel of engineering.

The gimbal is precise, the motors are efficient, and everything works together.

Pisses off the neighbors, but hey, I don't get to fly it much.
>>
>>45579331
kind of weird, if the motor was damaged it probably wouldnt fly straight and if the wiring was loose it would probably randomly power off while flying.. dunno anon, youd have to mess around and try and replicate the issue, like maybe it wont power up if the prop is in a certain position
>>
>>45579344
heh yeah, those props look noisy as fuck
>>
It looks cool as hell and I want one, but what do you do with it? Other than mounting a camara, and even then what exactly am I going to tape in my boring neighborhood?

I need a legit excuse to buy one.
>>
>>45579417

Well, you can mount a FLIR camera to it, and do, stuff

i guess
>>

SOME GUY USED IT TO HELP THE VFD ONCE

Just a matter of time before they get regulated into oblivion. Amazon and gubment only - you know, so we can be spied on and shot for our own safety.

>>
>>45579801
>>45579801
its really getting on my tits

most of the issues is idiots with RTF models not knowing the rules, and treating them more as a camera than an aircraft

no point getting them banned, maybe enforce bigger penalties to people breaking the rules

so far the rules with these things [for hobbyists]

no higher than 400ft
must keep withing line of sight, without binoculars
no flying within 3 miles of an airport without asking air traffic control first
no flying withing 50 ft of people and buildings
no taking photos and selling them without a licence
no flying over national parks without a licence

im not sure about frequency and power outputs regulations in the US or europe, as that stuff varies a lot from country to country
>>
>>45579564
>>45579514
This combination would be worth it for me, but I'd have to pay for a vr as well... How much were the drones in the vid? Gotta wait a few years till I got a job... If you brick it like in the bid you'd be fucked though, do they shit the bed easily?

>>
>>45579919
>How much were the drones in the vid?
anywhere between $400-900 depending on the gear they have, motor, fpv gear and transmitters are the main expensive things

>>45579929
i could probably lift anything up-to 1kg with my larger quad, and the detatch mechanism is really easy to implament
>>
>>45579948
That's insanely expensive. And they killed them in the vid or are these things stable enough.

Anything you could do with this and a raspberry pie? What could I do with a really small one? Just fly?

the frame and control board are relativly cheap

its all the other electronics that are a pain, mostly too all the behind the scene stuff. I built my copter for $310 but i already had a pair of goggles, transmitter, batteries, decent charger ect...

damage done to these, espeically when racing is only props, or maybe if you are unlucky, an arm. props are cheap tho.

RC anything is a fucking expensive hobby, especially if you want shit to last more than a month

>>45578688

My Mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas.

I was going to ask for a Parrot Mini Spider but then I read the reviews about it only having an 8 minute battery life and a 90 minute charge time.

So instead I asked for a Sphero. Which literally a robot ball.

I really wanted a quadcopter though, but I don't want to get one of those kits where I have to find all the individual parts myself and solder it together.
>>
>>45582090
a lot of them you don't need to solder
if they have a separate battery you can buy a couple spare batteries and chargers so you can keep flying
>>
Anyone know a good quadrocopter with a camera (live view nice but not required) for less than $50.

>>45585202
how long can you fly it and how long to charge?

When you say that they are the future, you are lying, furthermore let it be known that many aerospace engineers think also that they are useless pieces of shit.

They will remain toys.

could have it explore the world, or at least the world where gps reaches.

It's unlikely that it could carry enough solar cells to keep it aloft continuously, even during the day. The sort of solar powered heavier than aircraft with 24 hour endurance are colossal flying wings.
>>
>>45585877
i know, it probably coudl only fly around for a 10th of a day before having to find somewhere to nest and wait for the next entire day to pass to charge it's cells.

Parrot rolling spider.

Those are just the means of what I have in the quad catagory. I would like that new 3000$ one that's a cross between the 1000$ recreational version and 10000$ film studio version from that company all the paparazzi use.
