>>
>>45393401
Depends on the game and resolution. At 1080p and above, a top of the line i7 would net you like an extra 5-10 frames a second. But if it's already over 60, who cares (fuck off 144/ 120 fps people).

On the other hand, you really need to look for reviews that test the MINIMUM fps, because that might be much worse.

Okay, so I just built a new PC with an H97m as the motherboard, and I got an SSD to use for the OS, software, and a couple of games.

Now no matter what settings I have tried in the BIOS, I cannot get the read and write speeds to go above 15 MB/s. I've made sure that I have the drivers installed and everything, but no matter what, it caps out at 15 MB/s.

Am I missing something? Should I return the drive?

Only you can answer that.
If you want to play games at 4K 60FPS and don't mind spending the money to do it, then sure.
If you don't want to spend that much money, then don't.

Personally, even if I didn't mind spending the money I would wait. Unless you're going to drop 2-3K on a 4K monitor there aren't really any that are better than OK for TN panels out at the moment. When IPS 4K with minimal lag hit around $1000 it might be worthwhile

Any distro is riceable if you know what you're doing. In general, distros that are meant to be easy to use are going to be a little more complicated to rice. Which distro you should start with depends on what you want from it. I never understood why people ask what distro to use first. Just pick one and try it. Then try something else. Try a bunch of stuff, and see what you like. It's free, it's not going to break your computer, and installing a distro takes like ten minutes.

If you your contacts are covered and you're too lazy to clean you can make a quick fix by folding aluminium foil back and forth along the spring, it'll make enough contact.
>>
>>45396852
Yeah, write a script to do so.

Cron is just a scheduler daemon and executes something at a specified time. Any logic or process dependency will have to be written in a script or program.

If you want something to just run on system startup and keep running then cron is not the tool to use which is why I suggested using rc.local.

Is there a way to get Google Maps for Android to work with GPS only, as opposed to "high accuracy mode", which also uses network information? I can't seem to make it zero in on my location, and every time I try to do anything it tells me to turn "high accuracy" mode on and then doesn't do anything. There's no way that adding network information to GPS information could make it more accurate. This is clearly about data mining.

If there's no way to use Google maps with GPS location data only, is there a reasonable alternative?

After years of using Ovi Maps, I'm really surprised at how terrible Google Maps for Android is in general.
