I just broke my motherboard, cooler, and CPU while trying to

I just broke my motherboard, cooler, and CPU while trying to build my computer. Thank God the video card is the most expensive piece in my build.

Do I just buy new ones? Can I get a warranty? I literally just bought it, first build ever.

I don't suppose there is a sticky or something I should read.
>>
>AM3+ CPU
>FM2b socket

Consider the possibility that you are not meant to be building computers.
>>
>>45361989
Don't hate on OP. Obviously its his first time doing so.
>>
>>45361989
Wait it wasn't supposed to fit, them? Fuck. That's like 100$ in the shitter
>>
>>45361914
How the fuck do you even manage that jesus chris

>>45362014
I did my first computer build a couple weeks ago honestly isn't that hard besides maybe mounting the 212 evo that thing is a bitch. Also cable routing is tedious as fuck
>>
>>45362036
Did you not use a site like pcpartpicker when choosing your components?
>>
>>45362044
>mounting the 212 evo
Fuck me, that was nerve-racking. Mine kept sliding all over the CPU.
>>
>>45362014
The only way to make that error on your first build is to not be looking at the specs of what you're buying. If OP doesn't care enough to read the specs of what he's spending money on, he's probably better off with prebuilts.

>>45362036
Yes. The good news is that you can straighten the pins on the processor and have them work in a proper AM3+ board. The socket on the motherboard looks intact enough, so I guess you could try either replacing he CPU or the motherboard, whichever would cost you less.
>>
>>45361989
Don't make fun of the mentally disabled
>>
What CPU was that?

Please don't be more than a 6300
>>
>>45362044
Mounting the 212 evo is fucking impossible.
Good thing it's one of the best air coolers.
>>
Fucking hell, I'm worried I did the exact same thing and I've built systems before.

There's a fine line between 'enough force to seat the processor' and 'SNAP!'. Was putting together an Intel system today and the sound it made when closing the pressure latch thing on the socket just sounded like something was being strained. But I followed the manual exactly.
>>
>>45361914
>>45361914
If you have an am3+ cpu then you need an am3+ board you tard.
>>
>>45361914

you can straight the pins,Gold is maneable and very conductive so if they are straight and fit into the sockets there won't be an issue
>>
>>45362208
If you look at the socket you can see one of the pins fell off.

Well, I got the wrong processor or the wrong motherboard.

How silly of me.

>>
You don't need to be tech savy, you're not tard for that.

But you're tard for not knowing you can't fit a square into a triangle, jesus, didn't you played that game on school?
>>
>>45361914

Use pc part picker to see if the sockets are compatable. Fuck. Amd is easy shit too because the pins go into the holes and fall down. This is a case of no common sense.
>>
There's no way this isnt troll
>>
>>45362235
>http://pcpartpicker.com/p/8HcdvK
But the motherboard is also an AM3+ socket....
>>
>>45362235
>http://pcpartpicker.com/p/8HcdvK

Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs. (u might need to get a new bios).

Also you retarded fuck, never buy raidmax powersupplies.
>>
>>45362235
Woah woah woah. Wait a second. Are you sure that's the same exact board you fucked up? Those should be compatable. Both are AM3+ but your pic shows the board socket as a different chipset.
>>
>>45362124

I know this is a troll thread but if he didn't know what socket to get, do you really think he knows what kind of processor he got

I certainly fucked up, I wanted a 970 and bought this disaster instead. What's worse, I since the gold pins broke, I cant use either.

so you buy a cpu, and don't even bother to make sure you're buying the right mother board socket. niger, you are stupid as fuck. DO RESEARCH, READ, WATCH VIDEOS. i hope this is realy. cuz u dun goofed

God dammit. You should pay more attention next time. There goes $200
>>
Thanks for the info. Definitely made a gross error here. I'm not a troll, and thank you to whomever gave me the benefit of the doubt.
>>
>>45362387
lol moron. didn't even make sure to have the right mobo for his cpu. at least you will never fuck up like this again.
>amd
shouldn't have bought it in the first place
>>
>>45362235
I don't understand.
Both are AM3+, how did you break them?
>>
btw sorry for h8ing on you OP. just learn to read more...you really shouldn't have goofed this hard
>>
>>45362438
See
>>45362387
>>
>>45362228
no, those pins were never there. They didn't fall off.
>>
Wait.

Exactly how the fuck do you actually use PCPartPicker and still fuck up?

Did you try to manually find everything on your list? There are links to it right there on the site.
>>
>>45362476
They fucked up shipping and OP was to stupid to realize.
>>
damn thanks God im not retarded like OP
>>
>>45362485

If that's true, and he can prove it, he should damn well be given either a refund or sent the correct parts.
>>
>>45362068
This.

Never again buying that 212 shit. I'll spend the extra money for a mounting system that doesn't suck dick, thanks.
>>
I had little trouble with the 212, hold it in place with one hand and start two corners, then tighten everything down.
>>
What cooler should I buy if I can't fit a evo 212?
>>
i'm upset with you op
>>
Damn. So either I go buy a new CPU that fits the motherboard, or return the motherboard I don't need and rebuy the processor.

What would be apt? This isn't a crap motherboard, maybe it'll still work?
>>
>>45363051
Return motherboard, get better CPU and motherboard.
>>
>>45361914
Man OP this was literally my worst fear when I was building my new computer. Luckily everything worked out just fine for me. I'm sorry this happened to you though.

ayyyyy

>>45363107
I used intel so i knew i didn't have to worry about my $250 processor getting damaged.
Much easier to replace a $100 mobo.
>>
>>45363257
in all honesty, it's pretty difficult to fuck either up this bad. anyone with minor patience and mechanical intuition should be able to put a cpu in a motherboard without damaging both components.
>>
>>45363257
>using intel because you can't trust yourself to drop a processor in a hole a single time

I use Intel too but if you actually picked it for this reason you may be better going to Best Buy and picking out the prettiest computer they have on display.

>>45361914
Why didn't you just ask first
>>
>>45363257
AMD chips are a lot better for not getting damaged, it's easier to drop something on a CPU socket than it is to bend or break CPU pins
>>
>>45361963
looks like you could use the FM mobo OP
if you can pull that pin out. just need a different CPU (FM2+ or just FM2). but that FX 6300 would have been better. Just an option at least.

Good luck OP.
