Why do you not yet have the best price/performance phone on the market in your possession?
Or you simply don't want to spend more on a phone. That's also a valid reason that should fit in your adult world. I don't value the additional features and the extra performance of a 500€+ phone, therefore I won't spend more than 200 bucks and get the best bang for my buck in that pricerange. Sounds reasonable, doesn't it?
Or I can spend that money on stuff that I actually value? Not everybody uses their phone for several hours a day and is a heavy user, I just need it to browse websites, to call people, to send text messages and to watch the odd video here and there. Why would I spend more money on a phone? But let me guess, "lawl pooor!!!!!" is your only response, right?
I see no reason to buy a more expensive phone than the G I got
- good size
- battery holds pretty well
- common, so there is custom rom support
- dual sim
flagship phones with dual sim cost like 100€ more than the normal models. which is idiotic.
It really depends on what are you planning to do with it, I have a Moto E btw ,I think it's perfect for me because I use it mostly for browsing and retrogaming via emulators (for more tech savy things such as programming/testing etc. I prefer a PC). it's the best one if you only need those things. Will try a Nokia Lumia soon, any tips?
I just picked up an LG Tribute yesteday, first charge on it gave me the pictured screen on time so I'm good to go. It's like a mix of a 1st gen Moto G LTE + a Moto E (because it has a removable battery + microSD slot).
I mean, it cost $40, it's fucking awesome and with some tuning I'll easily be getting 8+ hours of SOT every fuckin' day if I want.
The Tribute literally is the best deal out there right now, the only downsides are it's CMDA/LTE only (no GSM radio at all inside) and 800x480 resolution but I don't give a fuck about that anymore. It does everything I want, has a Wolfson DAC for outstanding audio quality, the removable battery, microSD, Snapdragon 400 quad core CPU, etc.
Fuck yeah, best $40 I've spent on tech in a long damned time.
Yeah, that suck. Even ram manager pro doesn't work very well.
You could try the xposed module "app settings", and make the apps you use more in multitasking as resident, so they won't be killed.
inb4 it will slow your device a bit.
being cdma only is a really deal breaker. the resolution is usable, but pretty potato tier in 2014.
that said. cdma variants of the moto g have been as little as $50 in the us, and now there's a gsm version of the moto g in the us for $99.
from /g/'s perspective, it's pretty hard to argue in favor of a non molested version of android. i think that's one of the major reasons the moto g is so popular despite other snapdragon 400 platforms existing in competing price ranges.
Is anyone's Moto-G completely redrawing your home screen every time you hit the home button in Android L? Extremely annoying and making the phone seem much slower than it is (almost like cold booting every time you press home)
Gifted one to my teen sis last Xmas. I'm not very impressed with the screen and the vibration motor, but the core functions are okay.
I'm on the one plus now, the bang for the buck is okay too out his one
>not having 2 of everything
actually i irreversibly bricked one of them so you know
>live in third world where everyone owns samsung phones
>bring moto g 2014 from USA
>omg anon nice phone how much did it cost you
>I say $400
>they believe me
My dad had a 2013 Moto G
His wife bought a 2014 Moto G
The 2014 one is awful, the screen is absolutely terrible, even compared to the original, and the speakers are not good at all.
Besides, it costs 200€. It's way too expensive for the hardware on offer. It was good last year, now it's just overpriced, especially when you can get 2013's Moto X (a vastly superior device) for only marginally more money.
I've got one, it's not really something I'd recommend to anyone. It's just a cheap Android phone like dozens of others, and you should only consider it if you're really hard up for cash.
because i'm stuck with this piece of shit instead
Having two sim cards instead of one allows you to:
- be reachable under 2 different numbers
- get double the network coverage. Imagine having two different providers, of which one has less coverage than the other in certain areas, so you can switch around
- use two different providers at the same time. like when you want to switch numbers but are too lazy to shell out the money for porting your old number. so you can just keep your old and new numbers both around
I have two different providers here in germany, one is netzclub. which runs on the E1 net, and is really ass, but its free to use HSDPA with it since its ad sponsored. the other is my regular number, under which I am reachable most of the time but internet costs 24 cent/MB used
fucking idiot still shilling this trash. it's not even as convincing as it used to be, lmao. i got my g2 for ZERO DOLLARS with an upgrade and it is SEVERAL TIMES BETTER AND FASTER THAN THIS. and the g3's already out. every phone is practically free if you buy it at the right time, and you're still trying to tell us this ANTIQUATED PIECE OF GARBAGE is the 'best'? stop FUCKING kidding yourself you demented shitstain, this phone is worthless. this phone came out, what, 3 years ago? more? give it a fucking rest, your efforts are better used shilling some new shit. shill some new shit, brah.
Found the problem: Left the home screen on a page without Google Play Music widget and it loaded instantly. Removing the widget fixed the problem
Someone file a bug report with the botnet
One of the moto /g/ main markets is Brazil, and here every carrier sucks major ass and is absolutely trash. You pay a lot for shitty service but most of them allow you to call to numbers on the same carrier for free, so having two carriers is a big plus in that matter.
And sometimes even tho u r rich, you might be in a business where it's good to have two numbers to be more convenient to your clients.
I can't find the second gen anywhere in my country, should I get the first gen one? My phone with physical keyboard died yesterday and I was hoping to get a phone with a keyboard but the last phones with keyboards were released in 2011 or something.
