What is /g/ buying for Black Friday/Cyber Monday? I've got my eyes on a GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK mobo and a i5-4670K.
Looking at a new Laptop as this one is getting old now and starting to have problems,
16GB 1600mz RAM
Currently: £1059.98 inc vat ($1660 US)
Sadly the screen is only 1080p
I've got my eyes on a SSD and maybe 980 GTX for Witcher 3 come february 2015, should I splurge out for the GTX right now or wait for new announcements/hard price drops?
Do I really have to fucking format my entire HDD and reinstall Windows all over again to use my SDD?
I've been keeping an eye on the 4690k and the absolute lowest I've ever seen it after two months of lurking pcpartpicker is about 240. And older cpus tend to be more expensive for whatever reason
I got this and a splitter to run a sub with my headsets, now I fucking feel explosions when gaming. 100% recommend, it has a switch in the back so its not running when you are listening to music etc.
Still a great sub for a true speaker setup as well, it has its own amp.
This. I'm looking for a new laptop and everything I'm looking at online is pretty much in the usual price range. I'm not sure if I'm willing to stand outside in 10 degree weather like a derp with a bad knee and fucked up toe on the offchance that I MIGHT find something that hasn't been discounted to it's normal price.
Back in the day when AMD was truly incompetent and were shipping out X4s rebranded as X3s the motherboard actually did matter if you wanted a free X4
Now it's more just what they can support/how decent the company is for RMAs
Looking to get a 4 TB hard drive this Black Friday/Monday. Can anybody recommend me a good one? I found this chart on /a/, and to be honest, I've never heard of HGST. Are they any good? If you were going to buy a new HDD, what would you buy?
HGST used to be Hitachi until recently. I think they're the best HDDs you can buy, but WD is still very good, so don't hesitate to get a WD if you find one at a great price (since they tend to go on sale more frequently than HGST, at least on Newegg)
Does newegg have anything going on for an upgrade from an amd 7770. Plan on picking something up for a decent price, doesn't have to be super leet pc master race, and putting my 7770 in my wife's computer.
Not only are you too fucking lazy to read your own fucking thread, you're actually retarded enough to make TWO POSTS instead of fucking googling the fucking name.
Jesus fucking christ.
If you read the fucking logo itself it says "A western digital company". IE it seems to be someone that was acquired by WD.
People like you are the reason we, as a species, will die on this rock.
Read the articles they came from.

Whichever drive you buy make sure the SKU has the minimum number of platters and read heads for it's capacity (ex: 2x1TB platters for a 2TB drive instead of 4x500GB platters) using this database:
The higher the platter density the higher the sequential performance and lower probability of mechanical failure.
