Correct me if I'm wrong, but in cases of hacking for profit purposes don't they tend to pick the lowest hanging fruit and exploit user retardation instead of system vulnerabilities? Pulling something like cryptolocker is much more profitable and reliable in the long run, than taking advantage of a exploit and potentially getting less dosh before it gets patched than selling it to Micorsoft.

I'm not trying to start an argument claiming that I'm in the right for not keeping my system up to date, I just have a sneaking suspicion you don't really know what you're talking about.
