Z3 compact

Moto X (2013) is the most comfortable phone I've ever used, and the active notifications are a 10/10 software feature. The 2014 model is significantly more expensive and not much of an upgrade. The screen upgrade is indiscernible from the original due to the increase in size, and the specs are largely irrelevant. Good option if you want a bigger phone but not worth the money.

Z3c is the best looking phone of this generation. It's a good option vs. the Moto X if you'd like a phone with a camera that isn't fucking awful, or you need the waterproofing for some reason.

OPO is fuckhuge and laggy, I'd wait till their second iteration.

If you don't feel you can afford a Z3 or Moto X, go for the OPO. The camera might not be amazing, but pretty much everything else is nice and dandy.

I would seriously consider getting the Note 3 instead. The price is almost the same. If you get the Note 3 you will be able to upgrade the battery if you need more juice - the Z3 can't do that. Also, the S-Pen might serve you more than you think - the Z3 won't give you that.

But in all fairness, Sony really has stepped their game up. Though I would still advise the Note 3 over the Z3 because in addition it is a bigger screen so you won't have to squint and put your face so close to the screen as much.

I got a Moto G on /g/'s recommendation. Its nice, fast enough, good screen, just make sure you get the updated one with HSPA and a memory card slot. Pretty damn nice for a $200 unlocked phone.

Any android with a 32GB MicroSD slot will be enough. Then just use the Vorbis (aoTuBv 6.03 2014) audio codec to encode your audio to 192kbps if you are normal or 384kbps if you are a mutant.

That will give you about 160 hours of 192kbps vorbis music and that would only fill 15GB of space, or 160 hours of 384kbps vorbis music and that would fill 30GB of space.

Yify rips are less than 1GB for 720p. Encoding a 720p movie with 10-bit H264 to around 2GB would give you amazing quality. Don't forget that you are going to watch these movies on a small ass screen so some artifacts are acceptable.

You would have to be squinting and 1/2 inch away from the phone to be able to have a chance to see the difference. Anyone think the Moto X 2013 is a logical upgrade from 5s? I enjoy my 5s, just want to give android a try but I can't stand this huge phone trend.

I like the Z3C but it's a little more than I want to pay, Moto X 2013 can be had for under 250 new and unlocked.
