Nokia N950
>>45213542
Would it be possible to stuff new hardware into it?
>>45213851
Don't they still make GTs?
I think the distributor is just changing from Scythe
>>45214069
i think nidec still makes them but nobody sells them
Windows 7
Laptops that aren't touchscreens.

Was just a couple years ahead of its time. Shame we'll never see such a sleek design again.

This people like the 6th gen because thats what was around the longest. But 7th gen didn't exist. iPod Mini has a great DAC and easy installation of a CF card with no extra hardware required.

>ITT: obsolete shit
FTFY, OP
nothing gives me the discontinued sad feels like this
This baby right here. 320ppi 3 years before the iPhone 4 and a real keyboard.
Wanted this so badly back in the day.
Just got at HAMfest
Not really God tier, but netbooks... I liked netbooks. I used the shit out of my netbook.
I got it still running like the day I got it.
Much love.
>>45214958
they were awesome, but I think 13-14 inches is a better form factor.
>>45214958
>netbooks
They make me want to throw up when ever i look at them, they are nothing but cancer
>>45213722
i miss these so much.
>>45213842
fuck off it's not the same
>>45214847
Is that a LISP machine?
>>45215004
Yes.
You can actually still buy them, but I thought it was still appropriate.
>>45214958

netbooks still exist to an extent
the macbook air, and devices like the macbook air are just glorified netbooks that dont suck
>>45213749
>I was a child/poor in the 90's and early 00's and thus do not understand the point of a PDA
STILL one of the most comfortable keyboards I have used on a phone.
Obsolete, sure. But (micro)SD cards of 2560x the storage capacity, aren't nearly as satisfying to use.

So much want.
>>45213752
fucking symbian was awful, but the looks was 10/10
Everyone complained windows mobile was garbage, but I had nothing but fun on this phone.
That keyboard too.
I would remote into my desktop at home for extra awesome.
>>45215531
No. It was shit. If you liked it you were wrong.
>>45215541
if that phone was wrong, I don't want to be right.
>>45214916
>someone else posted it
>I thought I was the only one who liked it
Windows mobile could sometimes be painful, but I'm convinced this device was the best winmo experience. I loved it.
>>45213231
>>45215420
shit, I was going to post a zip drive
I still think USB thumb drives are bullshit and a thin magnetic medium like that was the way to go.
if only it didn't have the click of death, the world would be a better place.
>>45213231
best mobile keyboard ever
>>45215595
I disagree. I have one and the keys require a pretty large amount of actuation force, or the domes are just degraded badly on mine.
I like the Jornada ones a lot better even if the keys are smaller.
Companies producing alternative computing devices. Exhibit 1: DEC and their Alpha. We had 64-bit computing when the slow companies were stuck in 8-bit. Guess who's still in business, those who stayed in the slow lane of technology.
>>45213455
I had a friend in Hong Kong hook me up with two of these tenkeyless model M's for 40$ US a piece.
>>45214958
I always remembered netbooks being slow pieces of shit that barely function.
>>45215731
Bullshit. I have light Linux distro on my ASUS EEE PC 1001 PXD and it runs fine as wine.
>>45215753
then again the only ones I tried using were cheap dell/toshiba netbooks or whatever.
>>45215763
Believe me. 2 GB of RAM made a huge difference.
>>45215778
currently my X61t has 1gb and it's pretty bad. When I get the chance I'll upgrade it to 4gb.
>>45215778
One of the first phones to push the boundaries of modern consumer mobile devices
God tier 6600 can still be seen being used in 2014
>>45215856
Use ZRAM. It helps when you don't have a lot of RAM.
49s and 50s just aren't quite the same.
Haven't tried a Prime yet, kinda curious though.

seriously how do patents work.. do they expire or what because the sidekick flipping magic could not be bested. you'd think itd be fragile but the later models had refined it such that it would just swivel away from any kinda damage.
>>45214835
my pocket device erection probably couldnt get much harder omg
>>45215894
Oh man, those Sony Ericsson phones were god-tier, probably the most god-tier dumb phones....I had a W810i which wasnt even the best one they made. Bluetooth, IR, FULL SIZE Memory stick, 2Mpix Camera with dedicated button and autofocus. I flashed the Sony factory firmware on it, which got rid of the Cingular bloat and allowed you to even rice it a bit through Flash-lite Themes. Oh and it had a 1500mah battery, which when it was new would go for up to 2 fucking weeks depending on how much you talked. You had to actually try to kill the battery in less than week.

>>45215258

A trendsetter if I ever saw one.
The Sony VAIO Z line.
>>45214900
actually, the USAF still uses this because its cheaper, faster, easier to get one of these planes to take pictures of areas than it is to wait for a satilite get into position

>>45217369
You want a fucking god tier terminal? have a fucking god-tier terminal.
Complete with a model M.
>>45217462
I've got a legacy chance too, and it really is god-tier. However, they still make the chance so I dunno if we can really call it discontinued.
>>45214900
these things looks like total monsters. I built a model of one as a kid.
fuck the exude so much predatory power and stealth just sitting still.
beautiful
>>45217500
Got him the other day. Was really nice, though I couldn't take him all the way. It just hurt to go all the way so I rode him as much as I could before my legs gave out.
