If 4chan and every other image-board died tomorrow and only you could create a new image-board from scratch, what features would you add and why?
Just to be an absolute money grubbing shit, I'd have a pay to delete other people posts feature. Either a nominal one time fee or like a lot of money per month for quasi janitorial powers.
4chan would be pay win!
>be a jew
>censor free speech
>make it bannable to say anything mean about my site
>praise free speech and anonymity while banning anyone who says anything offensive
>make my imageboard tumblr 2.0 by making it as mainstream and accessible to everyone that i can
>add captchas "temporarily" for tracking
>add paid for advertising banners
>add passes you can buy for sheckles to avoid my shitty captchas
it'd be a great site
Completely distributed system
You have to participate in the "swarm" to be able to upload pictures
The more disk space you allocate to it the bigger the files you can post (with a reasonable max limit)
After a while new user should be forced to lurk a month before starting posting
Alternatively, the post cooldown decreases after every day of posting, starting from very high (10+ minutes) to low (30 seconds)
Any user can create new boards, but they have to be accepted by some percentage of participant nodes to be enabled
This would never work but I like to dream.
One month lurking period before being allowed to post
Quality moderation encouraging quality posting and discussion
Users with light bans may repeal them if they read Yotsuba and fill out a quiz
/can/ board that is dedicated to stopping cancer, gaining support, donating to and creating charities, and hosting child porn
You would fucking NEVER attract users. Go back to 7chan with your "lurk before posting" shit. Newfags post, newfags get made fun of, and newfags learn. That's how it works. You don't need to lurk for a fucking month and no one will when there are other chans with more users.
Why bother letting them post in the first place?
If my site was THE successor to 4chan, chances are I'd only enforce the rule about a year after getting current 4chans userbase.
Someone who thinks "Usenet" is the binaries newsgroups sold through Astraweb detected.
It's a flooding mesh network. An alter-usenet running over Tor would be immune to weakest-link central server attacks.
State of the mesh: http://top1000.anthologeek.net/ .. The top 50 or so sites are pay2usenet sites that're highly ranked because of all the binary traffic they horde, but the rest of Usenet is well distributed by the remaining 3000+ sites.
>there are many existing ones
I have yet to see another one with a catalog view. Why is this? I would love to visit other places but without a catalog view it is too inconvenient for me to bother. Even Reddit has this problem. I don't get how people are willing to scroll through page after page just to find good threads.
Neat, any tutorials or guides?
I know that I need to turn the pi into web server so I'll be following this guide.
Then what do I do?
I'm noob to this
i think it would be better to have an auto rating system determined by the quality of posts so that people who constantly troll /b/ would be locked together whereas people who are consistent in making quality posts would be allowed into boards that promote intelligence and tact
Machine-ranking has never worked. Human moderation is corruption assured. Usenet-- a system cooperately designed by fucking geniuses-- concluded it was best to leave the ranking to the reader (killfiles, scorefiles).
decentralized and redundant, every user must contribute so much disk space
ban people that bitch about anime, ponies, or furries; if not, make dedicated boards for such things and make them bannable outside of their boards
The best boards would have no images, although that defeats the purpose
Here we go...
Forced Anonymous site-wide.
Any known plugin, script, or extension adding names or trips or IDs results in being blocked from even viewing the boards, and a three day IP ban.
Hit up Google, M$, Apple, whoever else and try to get them to share their list of CP MD5s with me; anyone who posts an image with an MD5 to match is insta-banned, their post is removed from the public view and copied over to a special pseudo-thread feed-type thing which is sent to the FBI with the timestamp, IP address of the poster, etc, etc. The original copy of the post is deleted as soon as the evidence is sent, so I'm not hosting cp.
Keep a regexp file like the one I currently use for /b/ with 4chan X, and a similar MD5 file. Any new threads whose image or text hits any of these filters basically gets a "say something original" message and it fails to post.
Additional filtering to identify standard bullshittery of adding special characters between things to elude filters.
You can create a free account with a username and password, but no matter what your name will always be Anonymous. Why an account? Incentivize good reporting...if someone reports an illegal or non-rule-abiding post, they get a "star". Stars or star counters for higher numbers show up as a small sidebar or footer by posts you make while logged in, but you're still anonymous. Frivolous/wrong reports can result in you losing stars instead; stars are manually given or removed based on the report feed.
No moderators other than me, not even my friends or site veterans. ESPECIALLY not either of those.
Only specific malware/shilling URLs blocked; other commercial spam controlled by people's lust for stars as their only identifying mark of authority and ascension; there are no upvotes.
Rules in next post.
Oh, I forgot, about file uploads. All major (or just really good) video and audio formats supported as embedded, 2 stars awarded for reporting an illegal video (stars are to the fastest reporter only, to encourage expediency...people posting from two IPs to get themselves stars by playing both ends will, when detected, lose all of their stars and have their account and all IPs used banned, even if they were proxies).
Also, thread death. Any thread created will be present for 60 minutes initially. Any thread which gets 5 or more comments (excluding any made by the OP) will last for 24 more hours, and 404 immediately after that. Any thread with two hours or less left will be highlighted in red so people know to make a new thread and link people from the old thread.
Each post can have up to five files uploaded of any type the website can handle, mix and match freely, with a filesize limit of 50 MB. There will need to be an assload of ads all over the sides of the pages to pay for this. This is fine, people who can't install Adblock deserve it anyways.
Rule 0: Don't be willfully stupid. Willful stupidity, that is, an intentional, delusional departure from or rejection of critical thinking for the purposes of continuing to shitpost about some delusional opinion will result in a permaban. At my sole discretion, cry moar.
Rule 1: Don't post IRL cp, CGI/2D cp ("loli" etc, inb4 spergs), IRL media of violent human/animal abuse of any kind, or anything related to furries, Homestuck, or MLP anywhere on the site. Permaban will result.
Rule 2: Don't post sexual stuff in non-sexual threads. Don't post traps or trannies in threads not specifically for them. Don't post your fetish in non-related threads.
Rule 2.5: The exception is if you check the Spoiler thumbnail box.
Rule 3: Spoilerize NSFW OP images, just the OP images, so people can view catalog and not have to see your dick.
Rule 4: Lurk moar, it's never enough.
I hope for something more modern using only HTML5 and CSS3 using Websockets and WebRTC making it realtime. Make the focus content i.e video and audiosharing rather than image based but still impose 3-5 MB per post.
See picture for design.
Other than that, realtime posts.
Here's it with post field and 4chan.org not 4Chan.org
>decentralized twitter like 4chan
a couple of guys on #/g/punk were working on something like this a few months ago; I doubt they've made much progress though.
iirc the basic idea was to have new boards created on what's #trending. So, if this theoretical site existed a week ago there would've been boards for #thefappening and #gamergate. They would act similarly to how boards do now; the only difference is that instead of threads being ephemeral, the boards themselves are too. Threads would still prune as they should, but the least active a board is the likelihood of itself pruning increases. Users can filter boards by region, but "worldwide" trending boards would be what is displayed upon first loading the site.
Everyone is anonymous by default; namefagging is optional but it must be used with a tripcode. "User Pages" would exist but only for tripcode users; their purpose would be to archive every post made under that particular trip. The reason for this is that it should curtail unnecessary tripcode usage.
So basically, "hashchan" would act sorta like a combination of 8chan and Overchan with a drop of bird shit on top.
Use phyton or Java instead of PHP.....
Yeah...fuck Java! Do it in Python!
I'd build one that is an API.
Just an API.
Text, image, get, thread id, board id, and date are retrievable.
You build the interface. You sort the posts. You sort the threads. Mods have a special prebuilt one on-site with read/write features and IP banning.
Writing a front end to 4chan's API is some entry level shit. It's not hard, just time consuming. Not even that depending on what level of polish you want.
Why not create a 4chan where you can choose what boards you want on your site, which are from other 4chans?
You could have /g/ from 4chan, a board you like from 420 chan as well, and a board from operator chan.
Because then everyone creates a board and they all have 3 people in them and die, instead of contributing to the existing boards until there are enough users to keep it growing forever.
I would write the whole backend in Scala and I would use web sockets for everything.
The client side would use AngularJS.
I would make the design more clean and modern than 4chan, but it would still look and feel much like 4chan. I honestly wouldn't want to change the basic principle.
We already have this kind of system. /b/ is there to redirect retards from other boards. I assume most people who get introduced get introduced into /b/. While not entirely effective it's good at what it does.
Might as well just set it up on Tor or something, then. No, I don't exactly like it, and I'm also aware that setting up Tor isn't difficult, but it will weed out the most casual casualfags.
Also, someone will probably upload a retardproof guide on the internet, explaining how to do it.
Alternatively, you have to code fizzbuzz in 20 different languages, which are to be previewed by the admins of said imageboard.
Not really. I get what you're coming from, but it's often quite obvious when people are from /b/.
But then you have to know first that the picture you are about to post has a copyright claim. And if you're banned, you're not able to post anymore.
Go away now FBI shills. You can't stop the internet hate machine.
real names and forced login even to just view
work together with the goverment agencies
let research institutes use users as guinea pigs in social experiments
Yes, none of these measures do more than keep the flood of lazy retards that is 99% of internet traffic from acting up.
Actually, I wouldn't be so opposed to an invite system if the invite were basically a registration code and that's it. Ooh, for instance, for every five stars you accumulate, you get two invite codes to give to whoever or shill for bitcoins over. But once signed up, they have no link to you that they know of, the code no longer works and gets taken off your list, everyone still posts as anonymous.
yep dog paddle through the butthurt
See above comment about shilling for bitcoin on the larger net with invite codes
It would be less moderated than current 4chan, and I wouldn't get into shit and have to turn it over to muh authorities. Oh, that reminds me...
Rule 5: ALL RAIDS ARE CANCER. Fuck around with people or websites for a thread or so if you want in some low key way, but any serious raiding is b& because no one is smart enough to keep their traps shut and it brings even more cancer to the website doing the raiding.
as expected of /a/
>Trending features sound like weibo.
weibo? what are its quirks?
>Trips are for fags.
Plenty of people use trips so they can go back to the yotsuba archives and see their posts; there's no real point in denying imageboards' lack of "true" ephemeral content. Instead, why not make it a feature? I think it'd further draw the line between the narcissistically inclined and prominent figures within a given community.
So, what exactly do you think the narcissistically consider themselves and would like to make others consider them, if not prominent figures in the community? How thought out was this, really? Do you get how narcissism works?
>Only glorious master-race Animated PNG
Finally, my filetype waifu will get the recognition she deserves!
>If posting in a thread without a name, the server randomly assigns you one for use in the thread. Samefaggotry probably not allowed.
>Name that's better than "4chan".
There's a lot of people reacting to limitations moot put on 4chan without considering WHY they were implemented.
As a reminder: the goal is to nurture a good community, not have as many features as possible. It's quite common for nice-to-have features to actually HARM the community.
Also, the back end matters the least - focusing on it is normally wasting your time.
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that this thread inspired me to start messing around with web coding again and reserve a URL with a special custom top level domain. I even started planning out the database in I forget which normal form, probably about 2nd normal form, in a spreadsheet. Spreadsheets as databases bad, spreadsheets as database layout visuals good.
The bad news is that I'm currently struggling somewhat with a fairly basic PHP self-submit form. I haven't much talent or experience with web dev, and not that much time to work on thisproject, but I'll give it a go anyways.
>How thought out was this, really?
I'm not one of the devs, so I don't know how much thought was put into it; I'm just reiterating what they told me.
I guess I also forgot to mention that the "user pages" would be public to everyone.
>Do you get how narcissism works?
Narcissists just want to show the world how amazing(ly obnoxious) they are. If the community had an archive of everything that someone has said under a tripcode, why wouldn't you think they'd be heavily scrutinized? Part of the reason why tripfags derail threads so much is because newfags take their bait; that or trolls being trolls, but I like to think it's the former. Much like twitter profiles, you'd have treat yourself as a public figure when using a tripcode lest the community digs through your post history.
Basically, PHP is the easiest and most familiar web language I know.
I guess I could always do it in Scala and just take forever but make it nice. Easy enough to rewrite in another language once the structure is there, in any case.
Looks like somebody is trying to summon MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
If you were reported by a user, you would be redirected to a page containing a random image pulled from the e621 tags
>dragon penis gay
This would either cut down on shitposting or greatly encourage it
>Make site ugly as fuck for newcomers
>90s Geocities default Page Appearance
>Hard to Navigate
>Hidden Yotsuba theme
>Images off by default
>On-site thread archives and indexing
>Trips must be approved by moderators for creators only
>Sound for webm
>Have a red board for furries
>Make /mlp/ a red board
>Separate comics and cartoons into 2 separate boards.
>Banish Animated Sitcoms on /co/ to /tv/
>Each board has its own user maintained sticky/wiki
I would track down IP addresses and make sure that the IP address has atleast a week of activity in the boards before letting it post.
So basically, going to be making a private phone app image board.
What if /g/ makes an imageboard that is only accessible through the private phone app, newfag-proofing would include a week of lurking before postan bla bla bla.
Then access to imageboards would have to be code based like channels and servers on IRC.
I'm spewing ideas everywhere but I think this is a good idea, I just need to reconstruct it properly so I can describe it in detail
Right, which is why I'm using it.
I ended up getting the form to work and even do some neat extras before I slept, so I feel more confident now.
Now this is lateral thinking.
But how I would do it is:
Beside each post is a "dildo" button. Dildos can be taken as a sign of either approval or disapproval and would have no real purpose, wouldn't be actual upvotes or downvotes.
Each user (by IP probably) has 10 dildos they can throw per day, without rollover. Dildos amassed appears as a visual representation of a given size/shape of dildo, with mouseover text saying exactly how many dildos the dildo represents.
>"you CAN create a free account"
You are a gigantic illiterate.
So fuck off to any given forum. Oh, what's that, you don't want to? Forums are absolute shit despite embracing pseudonymity? It's almost like "personal reputation" is some medieval voodoo bullshit to get people to not express themselves originally, and objective, impersonal, anonymous blacklisting is an impartial and holistic solution to repetitive shitposting and stuff that will get a website taken down, without quelling interesting and original thought or burying it under the premature judgement of superficial, inconsistent cultural pedantry. Get rekt fgt.
Protip: Shii thought of nothing original.
>On-site thread archiving and indexing
Enjoy your storage fees lol. Unless you make it Wikipedia-tier efficient where it strips all of the ugly bullshit out of the page and saves it as text fields only and no files.
Enforced lurking period, I like it. Easily avoidable, but anyone who knows how to change their IP and bothers will be either a good poster or an obvious shitposter.
>private phone app
Good idea, that way you'd get a board full of just newfags who stumble upon /g/!
Come on, you want a community of phone browsers and posters?
We were talking about my hypothetical chan. I probably wouldn't have the motivation/skill/inclination to make or find a big list of proxies, VPNs, and Tor exit nodes.
>wtf this shit 4chan is supposed to be "full anon" forums
Lurk moar faggot, 4chan is in no way "full anon".
Actually, a fairly good idea in theory. In practice it would probably be a circlejerk, but "secret boards" is always cool to try out.
>Well I know me some HTML and CSS and JS.
>So I know what's what.
Oh is that the bar for understanding the concept of adaptive web development? I didn't realize.
Jump back, this guy knows what's what.
Are you also taking CS III?
For website design, those three suffice.
I learnt those three languages at home.
And a bit of Google shows me the concept of adaptive web design with examples.
Also, for website design, those three suffice.
>I learnt those three languages at home.
Wow! You didn't even go to school and have a professor read out of a textbook or off of a website out loud for you?
Super 1337, bro!
>a bit of Google shows me the concept
Oh good, knowing the concept surely means you'll implement it right! Surely it won't just look broken as fuck on all displays.
But don't let me discourage you, please, by all means give it your best. We need more adaptive webdev.
>implying adaptive web design isn't just making the site look passable and friendly in every user case scenario.
>implying HTML/CSS and JS not the most easy languages to learn on your own
No. It's not. It's dynamic scaling and alteration, which is why you don't just fucking Google the concepts, because you don't know ever fucking user case scenario, which is the initial problem that adaptive web design is meant to address.
Bring back the original 4chan and ban anyone that steps out of line.
Actually get mods that actively moderate, not sit and shit over each other in IRC and only listen to reports. (not all of them mind you, but most!)
Snacks was pretty much the only one to actually tell moot to get fucked and ban whoever the fuck he wanted for even minor things. THAT is what 4chan needs. Sorely. Not fucking passive faggots.
Force IDs on everyone.
This site was never intended for anonymous discussion. Fuck you Shii. Stay the fuck on your wapanese boards. Cunt.
Pay to make more than 2 threads in a period. You can reply as many times as you want though. Just like my /f/.. ish.
Ban any weeaboo, westaboo, and any other retards that shitpost. Constantly.
Every single time moot has wanted to bring back the old 4chan, he and the moron brigade have ALWAYS given up.
I dunno about you, but I would personally have a fucking lot of fun banning retards all day every day.
Ban any new 4chan culture. It is shit. You are shit for liking it.
Bring back /z/.
Bring back /5/.
Make a /dev/ board, kill /gd/, /3/ and other dev boards and move them there. This is what EVERYONE wanted, but instead the fucking moron made a board that was against his own board request policies in that he wouldn't make boards with little scope, that he would make them cover as much as possible.
/dev/ would have been a godsend for content creation on this site. From VN to games to music to animation.
Nope, let's fragment the community even more.
There is about a billion other things. But they will never happen because moot likes this new fucking faggotsite and his pretentious ideals of anonymous discussion.
This site was literally started out of fucking attention whoring and was like that for 4 years.
Which "original 4chan"?
WT was a drama queen and a pedo, loose moderation is the only saving grace of 4chan.
>Force IDs on everyone.
>This site was never intended for anonymous discussion.
>Fuck you Shii
>wapanese boards as opposed to 4chan
Simply amazing cognitive dissonance.
>pay for exposure and influence
>moot ever wanting to "bring back the old 4chan"
>This site was literally started out of fucking attention whoring and was like that for 4 years.
Which is the element of "old 4chan" you seem to want to bring back, more attention-whoring.
>WT was a drama queen and a pedo, loose moderation is the only saving grace of 4chan.
Yeah, exactly, and that is what we LIKED about him, he was a massive drama queen and never gave a shit.
Lax moderation KILLED this site.
Worse yet, invisible moderation done more damage than chanology, fox news and everything else combined.
>thinking this site was a weeaboo board
This site was a place for people to come post about animes and their interests to get away from the shitty abusive levels of moderation on SA.
4chans old moderation was perfectly fine in comparison. But you faggots are so used to being able to post anything you'd never fit in at all.
And the fact that you even deny moot ever wanting to fix this site is hilarious.
There are posts all over the damn news board about it. I can remember 3 separate times myself, likely more, where he has actively tried to fix this fucking shithole.
And one of those was only a couple years back. How new of you.
And yes, yes I do want to bring back the attention whoring retard 4chan.
It was actually FUN.
The anonymous era of 4chan is literally cancer incarnate.
Seems you should shut the fuck up.
The very few boards that actually are majority old posters would agree.
But that doesn't even remotely apply to /g/, most good posters left here after the shitposting westaboo cunts invaded from places like macrumors. Techloligy days of /g/ and before were the only good days of /g/.
>And yes, yes I do want to bring back the attention whoring retard 4chan
you realise there are entire *chans dedicated to a few tripcode users posting about IRC memes and the occasional Russian paedo spam bot, right?
your best bet to get the authentic pre-2010 4chan experience is to just bookmark and post on a load of those boards.
>Lax moderation KILLED this site.
>This site was a place for people to come post about animes and their interests to get away from the shitty abusive levels of moderation on SA.
Reading comprehension, you have none.
Posts like yours is why I stabbed myself in the face 17 times.
I already do. And many others that aren't on shit places like Overchan for every fucking /b/ faggot to find and post childporn on.
I would make it look like pic related because the default theme here is fucking garbage
wow you post on obscure imageboards, good job on your life there buddy bud bud. if they're so amazing to post on then kindly fuck off and post there instead of spouting templeOS-esque gibberish about how 4chan needs stricter moderation and more tripfags
god damn that looks like some minimalist coffee-shop macbook hipster shite
Yet you still shitpost here because your secret clubhouse is full of people who are doing what other people were doing back in 2004 anyways, but not through nostalgia goggles.
Stab yourself in the face with some high-velocity 00 buckshot for me.
Oh no, I need to post on multiple websites, oh man so much effort, this shits hard as balls, my mind is so confused by this extremely hard task.
How about you fuck off and come back when you can actually type something that resembles a sentence?
Even 2004 4chan would shit on you, and they used things like lol, rofl, XD and such.
why are you trying to hard to impress people with your secret-club oldfag attitude? ha ha yeah man i posted on 4chan back in 19-dickedy-six now let me tell you THOSE guys knew how to par-taaay
Funny how it used to be the least shitposty board on the site.
I remember even in 2005 there was a sticky with 0 shitposting in it, everyone was on-topic.
Virus buddy was the last good sticky this site ever had.
>that's what [s4s] is
>implying [s4s] is a containment board
/b/ is the only board that isn't a hugbox.
So naturally, all boards despise /b/ because it's not autistically devoted to any one interest, let alone theirs. It's a threat to their humorous anonymous self-esteem.
Also, full of repetitive shitposting by hugboxers without hugboxes to post in, so if you're not a fucking scrub you use regexp to clean it up.
The sad thing is /a/ got took over by gaiatards.
Literally 60% of the board are self-admitted new users.
I remember that disgusting day in 2010 where they all flooded to the site when some shit site died, and the lesser new people were helping them integrate in to the board and put up a strong front to keep out even more new users from the board.
It is fucking tragic, one of the better boards fell to complete shit.
Even /v/ isn't as bad as it. Fuck, even /b/ isn't. /b/ might have shit topics, but even those people are more on-topic than most of /a/, and even less shitposting than /a/.
Few will ever get around it since new/g/ are also shit and can't program to save themselves since it turned in to /consumertech/
Oh yeah, that shit too.
It would have been fine if they were on-topic with the shit, but they sperg and shitpost all over it, and then it only comes back to haunt them.
Oh, also, delete /lgbt/
What a shit board. Nobody fucking wanted that.
Everyone wanted a /trans/ board so /b/ tranny threads could go there.
But instead he added a board to troll everyone like the dick he is.
moot does a considerable amount of damage to this site himself any time he has any idea.
I mean, fuck, he "removed" the email field and replaced it with options, and tells people to put emails in the post box. WHY, what purpose does that even serve?
Killing the text boards too. That was only one of the few places to go on this site to get away from the shittiness of the rest of the site.
Good night sweet /prog/.
Well I can't link the threads now can I?
Examples are STALKER generals being deleted on /k/, if you don't know the kulture we love those games.
Another thread on /sci/ was asking about something that seems possible but isn't under the laws of physics, it turned into an interesting discussion about counter-intuitive natural laws but was deleted.
>Well I can't link the threads now can I?
yeah, what's up with that shit?
I know that the original ZQ threads were banned from /v/, then banned from /b/, then banned from /pol/ and then /pol/ had a panic attack over muh censorship.
And at some point both /v/ and /pol/ had active threads that turned into gamersgate, which is now complete with a supposed ex-/r/gaming moderator whistleblowing reddit's internal politics on soundcloud.
Did I miss anything?
Reddit pulling that censorshit and the whistle-blowing mod have made the interents mad, when you are a web-based media company this is bad.
The vigilant few are working hard and are targeting the sites in questions advertisers in an effort to hurt them financially.
While I can see why those that don't care would be pissed just add a word filter.
I've been all over 4chan since 2007 and /a/ was ALWAYS the horrible bullshit that it is now, just slightly different semantics.
Also, /g/ is a technology board. It wasn't even intended as a programming discussion board, it's just that everyone was shit and didn't fucking use /prog/ for anything, so milkribs and other shitters took it over.
Most technology is, like it or not, a consumer product. Deal with it, be autistic somewhere else.
There are three boards for games, you retarded shitter.
>That was only one of the few places to go on this site to get away from the shittiness of the rest of the site.
>Good night sweet /prog/.
/prog/ was the very worst shitheap imaginable. No one will ever make a more pointless, less insightful shitheap of a website than /prog/; I'm including robot content aggregators and "meta search" clickbait sites.
>lax moderation killed this site
You never heard of /b/day, did you?
The mods turned into massive faggots who ban the wrong people, and leave alone the cancer. This and the new massive popularity is what killed 4chan.
>Rules and Regulations
Most 4chan rules still apply.
Choose a name or Anonymity, you can change whenever.
No advertisement but open to donations.
Encourage user custom-ability.
No more tripfags.
More aggressive bans. Three days long and no access to entire website.
Get banned five times, get blocked from the site.
Shitposting results in ban.
Memeposting results in ban.
Twenty page limit.
/feedback/ for site improvement.
Some boards will have sub-boards. All boards have //all/ as the default sub-board. //all/ is like the random of all boards where sub-boards and random posts are mixed together like 4chan now. Crossing posts in different sub-boards results in a warning. Five warnings result in a ban.
/tech/ - Technology
//all/ - All Posts Related to /tech/
//prog/ - Programming
//elec/ - Electronics
//$/ - Consumer Technology
//softw/ - Software
//hardw/ - Hardware
No replying with image, only OP should be able to post one.
One of the dumber things 4chan pioneered was image reply on all boards.
The original Japanese boards had the right idea and it wasn't just for bandwidth, image reply derails the original thread topic, always leading to shitposting.
Have fun nurturing your seakrit klub mentality.
>No more tripfags.
Stupid, filters exist for a reason.
>More aggressive bans. Three days long and no access to entire website.
>Get banned five times, get blocked from the site.
Impossible to enforce.
>Shitposting results in ban.
Impossible to quantify.
>Memeposting results in ban.
Only good things that could possibly come out of this is user custom-ability and an openness to donations.
