Got it from Ikea, pretty sure every Ikea carries them, $150 or something. It's nice I guess, the build quality is, well.. Ikea.

Honestly, just get the 1920 x 1200 monitor and upgrade in a year or two when prices of monitors has dropped. PLS is somewhere in between IPS and TN in terms of color quality, and $500 for a 1440p monitor is just, eh. Plus you can just use your current monitor as a second monitor and have some extra real estate.

Better yet, get two 1080p Asus monitors, the VS239-P's for $300

It is yeah. I love it. I have tiny hands so i have to use 2 hands put apart from that its awesome, fast with a 6.4" 1080p screen. Its great for watching stuff on long train journeys. Only issues i've had is sometimes the screen gets stuck so it thinks my finger is clicking over and over in one place in which cause i have to lock the screen then unlock that's all.

Just get something you like the looks of. As long as it supports ATX motherboards it should be fine. Corsair cases tend to be overpriced. Cases like Define R4, NZXT H440 and Phanteks Enthoo Pro seem reasonably priced right now.

I'm assuming you have a power supply picked, but if not I would recommend Seasonic.

Ditch that CPU and get a 4690k alongside an aftermarket cooler, ditch that useless optical drive, grab yourself a matx motherboard alongside a smaller case because small cases are sexy and you certainly don't need that HUEG case whose size is completely unjustified and grab a GTX 780, then you're gold. Also, where is your PSU?

Or my favorite one if you wanna make me jelly: ditch the optical drive, the case, the mobo and the PSU, then grab yourself a Hadron Air case (it's the size of a xbox 360, but fatter) that already comes with a PSU, the 4690k, look for a compatible aftermarket cooler for the case's size, a z87 mitx mobo and pour the rest of the money towards the GPU. Enjoy your tiny little monster.

Gonna grab a new video card tomorrow or the day after for a 2560x1440 monitor, basically i can get:

a 770 for $355, or 4gb for $420
a 290 for $450
a 290x for $500 (reference)
or a 780 for $523

also my mobo only has crossfire support (x16/x4) not sli so 2x570s isnt really an option

I'm currently planning on doing this. Planning on visiting Home Depot after measuring out the space. I was going to use Ikea kitchen counters after I outfitted my prior companys build room with them, but they're all plasterboard/composite whatever the hell inside and only come in two sizes...long and fuck long. Cutting them probably would leave bad splintering or ruin the laminate, so I think I'm going to go with some type of formica counter, and Ikea legs.

Probably the most basic setup I've had in a while because I'm planning on moving soon but it does the job alright. The only thing that actually bothers me about it is the non-matching bezels on my monitors. Having one matte and one glossy is just a bit bothersome.
