>not dropping the deprecated adblockplus for the superior and modern adguard

Why Adguard AdBlocker is better than Adblock or AdBlock Plus?

1. Adguard AdBlocker is really fast and lightweight. It uses half as much memory as other popular solutions: Adblock, Adblock Plus, Adblock Pro, Adblock Premium and other ABP clones.
2. Adguard can handle Anti-AdBlock scripts. You won't have to turn off the AdBlocker anymore to be able to visit the websites that are using such scripts. Just send a complaint to our tech support and we'll handle it.
3. Adguard is simply better looking and modern.

The point is to get shit out of my face. I don't care about the look of the setting page that I see once per install

Unless you can toot that it blocks more ads, I don't really care. Especially since abp already handles all ads.

Very easy to bypass. It's as simple as opening blocked items, finding the anti-adblock script (it's also in red, don't confuse it with the ads), and unblocking it. The more you know.

I have a modified hosts file, but it doesn't block ads on yt and a bunch of other ads. I'm really tired of abp on ff though, it just takes up memory and never releases it once it goes up and just keeps getting higher. I've tried making a very small custom filter too, but it still makes ff go from using <150mb to almost a gb.

I would use chrome + ublock, but chrome does other annoying things that I can't get used to.

I jumped off the ABP ship when I was fed up with it using 5.5GB+ of memory. It's absurd as it sounds.
>>
>>43229235
No RAM problems, but if it consumes less RAM that means it consumes less CPU cycles, so might as well try it.

Shame he's going blind

Uses 200mb on my end, well not anymore.

Adblock Guard seems to work just fine, 53mb RAM usage.

Looks good, we'll see how it functions within a few months.

ABP only has the fact it came first going for it, I'm positive there are better solutions, like other torrent clients for uTorrent.

It's to unbreak sites which are broken by non-standard hosts-based lists like:

- Peter Lowe’s Ad server list
- Dan Pollock’s hosts file
- hpHosts’s Ad and tracking servers
- MVPS HOSTS

To allow you more protection than ABP could ever provide you: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/%C2%B5Block-and-others:-Blocking-ads,-trackers,-malwares

Using all the above lists I easily go under 200 for that benchmark.

It's called working for the users' best interests.
