privacy is finished
is there really anyone on this board that doesn't already have the addthis JS blocked in NoScript?
>In a follow-up comment, a YouPorn representative said the company was not aware of the tracking feature
In what universe is installing NoScript considered 'virtually impossible'?
If you browse with JS enabled on every website, then canvas fingerprinting should be your least worry as you open yourself to dozens of other tracking methods.
You would be surpised, every now and then when people post browsers or screencaps, you see that they have things like steam, skype, facebook unironically open, amongst other things
also, there are even gems who come here who have no extensions whatsoever besides the unethical adblock plus
Well, I suppose I can't say unethical, I'm just autistic about what I use
>download adblock Plus
>has some ads allowed by default
I didn't want them to begin with.
Now, in regards to noscript, I guess you could consider that "unethicaL" given italian man's past jew-tactics,
as for request policy, I don't see anything wrong with it
Not sure how Tor Browser does it, but it blocks canvas by default without forcing JS abstinence.
I can also imagine making a user script that replaces the getContext method for all canvas objects with an empty implementation. The media is creating drama where none is.
I wouldn't, Youtube's HTML5 is slow enough already (they hate html5, but wanted to punish apple) on top of Tor's limited bandwidth? Honestly you're better off not. When you get on Tor these days its close to like...... ISDN or early DSL speeds. It used to be dialup, but has greatly improved.
...and racists and nazists and communists and anarchists and enemies of the state and conservatives and political dissenters and those that criticize the plans of our great leader.
The world will be so harmonious. Thanks, Obama.
>Hey, these guys over at Mozilla consistently fuck up their shitty browser. It's struggling at the seams and hemorhaging memory.
>We should get them to write audio and video software on top of that, I'm sure they'll be just as good as experts in that completely separate field.
MOOT WAS TRYING TO WARN US THAT'S WHY HE MADE THAT SITE HE KNEW
HE KNEWWWWW CONSPIRACY
REMEMBER WHEN HE STARTED THAT CANVAS WEBSITE? THAT WAS THE HINT
HE WAS TRYING TO TELL US SOMETHING
canvas fingerprinting HAS THE SAME NAME!!!
>Visit website for the first time
>Spend a good 5 minutes adding exceptions to NoScript to make the site work properly.
Pretty sure anyone who actually has a life and has work to do won't have that kind of time. You just can't relate since you're all NEETs.
Nah man, it's like.... 30 seconds tops. In 60 seconds I can hide elements I just plain don't want to look at.
>Login and navigation headers to a site I will never log into or manually navigate
>lol popup gating, for reals
And after that 60 seconds I enjoy the site to the extent I feel comfortable allowing its shit to run.
If it's a worthy site, it gets whitelisted and thus never has to be dealt with again. It's fine if you don't want to take those 30 seconds to make sites work, but don't go making excuses and exagerrating cause you're lazy. Own up to your laziness like a man.
Don't worry though, eventually a noscript version will come out with that specific element banned by default so you can leave your scripts enabled globally on and rape your privacy some more.
It's exaggeration. There's a law that says you are forced to reveal encryption passwords when demanded by law enforcement.
It's a criminal offense to withhold encrypted data from law enforcement.
Which effectively makes encryption illegal, but saying that isn't very accurate.
Personally I think it's stupid. Paedophiles who refuse to cough up codes stay off the sex offender registry, and don't go to prison for anywhere near as long, and don't have their name mixed with the word paedophile.
Terrorists also just take a few years in jail instead of giving up their plans or whatever.
It's stupid. Either put life imprisonment for withholding encrypted data or have no imprisonment at all.
>tfw 4chan and Javjunies are the only sites I have to whitelist for noscript
>Confirmed for not using catalog and native extension
I'd spoof my user agent, but I want to rep GNU/Linux on site statistics. The only other things were HTTP_ACCEPT Headers and cookies.
I have no idea about HTTP_ACCEPT Headers and I don't want to block all cookies (or do I?).
if you're not running requestpolicy, noscript and any cookie whitelist with auto destructible temporary cookies if you so wish, as well as LSO nuker by now, then this new tracking method is the least of your worries
If you are, then congrats, you already have it blocked
