Trying to plug an iPad into ubuntu, I get:
Unhandled Lockdown error (-20)
I can't find the meaning of these error anywhere.
I have reason to believe that my motherboard is taking a shit on me. (asrock extreme6 no tb)
I'm getting occasional artifacts in games and memtest indicates that I likely have two faulty ram slots (b1 and b2) since running only two sticks at a time is stable.
could it be a conflict between the two different 16gb corsair vengance pro 1866 kits?

I'm thinking of picking up a z77 sabertooth as a replacement
So, imagine going to wall.rb on a web server. When it loads you see a text line for a name, and multi-line text field for some words, and a submit button. Understand you see boxes, each with a name, date and comment on inside it that stretches on for miles. I can make a script to read each box and print the name and comment to the terminal, but I don't understand how to make it so that wen you click a submit button the text inside the text boxes get written to the page. How does it work? And how do I make it know where in the page to write it? I have a very very vauge idea in my head but it would just make one comment ever appear on the page, and it would be whatever the last submitted one was because it would just overwrite the last one. But that would just be in the terminal. Not with html.
Like that but written in Ruby. I'm trying to learn Ruby itself, everyone tells me not to go the wrong route like so many people have and learn Rails/Sinatra but not Ruby. Using one of those seems like calling a physicist when all you need is a carpenter.
Could I please have this explained to me like I'm five? Thanks in advance.
My new build has a weird issue. When I turn it on the fans will spin up and the power LED will come on, then it dies but the power light remains on. Then it turns back on, then back off, then on again. After that third time it runs just fine. Temps are fine, voltages are well within acceptable ranges. Read some reviews that say gigabyte boards will do this after overclocking as a safety feature? Also, the NB is HOT. That normal on a 970 chipset?
I tried rooting my phone (LG4XHD) and installing CM rom with TWRP, but it failed. Now i'm stuck in a boot loop.
Doing a factory reset does nothing to help.
Help me out here guys, I've been at this for 6 hours now. And just when I finally figure out how to root and install a rom this happens.
How much difference does an AMP make to speakers?
I'm thinking of buying some wharfedale 9.1 bookshelves, but I'm not sure whether to get an amp with it or not. Also, are modern motherboards close to the performance of most soundcards?
I've looked at reviews of people using amps and the like, although the general consensus is they do sound much better, I've never been able to tell the difference since I've never had the chance to compare.
What would /g/ recommend buying with those speakers, if anything? I'm more interested in sound accuracy than anything else.
Can anyone tell me what is a really safe password and how to find one?
I see people on here deride using Chrome, Gmail, Windows, Dropbox etc. etc. If the NSA has nodes (?) embedded at ISP centers isn't the result the same? They still know your habits, what you visit, which e-mails you send. Or am I completely wrong?
Only Google and Microsoft use your information for the sake of profit, not national security.
Mix random upper and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols in a way that you can remember, avoid sequences or real words.
If every time I recheck a torrent it seems like I'm missing a whole lot more than I was, and I'm getting IO errors, that means my hard drive is a shit, right? In which case short of getting a new one what should I do?
When I boot my computer, all I get is a blinking underscore. Normally I just adjust the settings in the BIOS, but the problem is I can't access the BIOS. I get the blinking underscore the moment I turn on the computer. I hear no beep when I turn it on, so maybe there's something wrong with the motherboard?
I did nothing to it. It is my cousin's. At first he accidentally connected to window's server and got a non-geniune warning. It ran as is and just now he came crying the computer won't boot.
I don't think it's the power cord. The monitor is lit, CPU fan is running. I fear the motherboard is fried, but I'm not too sure.
unplug everything from the motherboard, all the drives, etc, leave the video card and psu the only things plugged in, reset the ram and then turn it on and see if you can at least get the bios to show, your OS will not affect the bios so that isn't it.
i got a d-link dwa 131wireless usb adapter because my laptops wifi-chip isn't supported on linux and the dwa 131 supposedly is.
it actually seems to work, since it shows up on iwconfig and manages to find networks with iwlist, but when i try to connect with wpa_supplicant i get a unsupported driver error.
wicd doesn't work either
does anyone know what might cause that?
What games besides DDR should I try playing with this?
So I'm in the process of building my first pc. The things I have to get are:
processor (intel i3 maybe)
Power supply (Rosewill capstone)
Now I don't need this PC right now and I'm willing to wait, but is there a time of the year when buy these certain items are cost effective? I do not plan on going cheap with the GPU (around 200 to 300 range). Should I wait until next year to buy some of these parts?
>but is there a time of the year when buy these certain items are cost effective?
>Should I wait until next year to buy some of these parts?
no. there is always newer / faster / better components on the horizon. always.
Do not get an i3, unless you don't plan on doing much with this, also what do you plan on doing with it, pls include detail.
Second mobo, gigabyte/asus (no MSI), don't nigger out of your psu ever, gpu, AMD 280 is good, get 770 if it goes down, should soon.
no. If you need to cheap out on your CPU go AMD 8350
don't forget about ram
i'd probably go with an i5 if you already plan to spend up to 300 bucks on the gpu
as for the time of year, doesn't really matter. hardware prices do change over time and their not always going down, but it doesn't depend on that. it's rather about how much the resources go for at the moment, whether some factories had to close down because of floods or similar stuff and how high the demand for a certain piece of hardware is at the moment.
in the end you'll just have to buy at some point and it doesn't matter all that much
Does EVGA make good PSUs? I'm thinking about getting pic related.
I really want to learn a coding language but not only am I not sure which, I don't really know what I'd use it for. I don't want to do web development, I don't want to make games and I have no real ideas for building a programme. I guess it's just learning for the sake of learning.
>no. If you need to cheap out on your CPU go AMD 8350
it really depends on what you're doing, the i3 has 50% better single threaded performance and that's a lot. the only thing an 8350 would be better for is playing BF4 and transcoding videos, the i3 quite literally stomps all over it in everything else you use a computer for.
there is no good reason at all to buy an 8350, if you are going to spend $180 on a cpu then get a locked i5.
Learn python, it just werks, great beginner language. If you don't like it don't program and it won't waste to much time, if you end up liking it go to C++ Java C# or otherwise. The tutorials on the Python site are pretty decent, great to get you started, and the /g/ wiki will help you go further if you plan on it
Don't listen to faggot. Python has terrible syntax rules and teaches disgusting programming habits. It will be hard to learn actual programming languages after indulging yourself in Python's faggotry. Don't do it. Learn C/C++.
Source? I don't remember seeing i3's stomping them out very often, and those 2 cores are really limiting. I guess you make a point though.
Pentium Anniversary is a decent choice if you're a gaymer
it's means you're a person dumb enough to buy a fagpad and confirming once and for all that people who uses apple products are illiterate morons. you padhole
i guess that depends on what kind of programmers and how good they are.
i'd say your average sysadmin will make something around 60k a year, which, tbh is quite a lot considering that if your good at it, you'll mainly sit around and shitpost on 4chan all day.
you'll probably make a similar amount in web development, probably a bit more as a .net or java codemonkey and possibly a lot more if you contract as a cobol specialist to support legacy systems
Lately while torrenting on my PIA VPN my connection is going from 1.2 MB/s to 10 KB/s every few minutes. It used to be a steady 2.0+ MB/s. Is Comcast pulling fuckery on me? They recently changed my DNS from Atlanta to San Jose for no reason. I am using the Ubuntu iso torrent to test since I know I should be getting 100% of my bandwidth with that.
With PIA VPN off I get 3.2 MB/s...
Is anyone else having problems with PIA lately?
Thanks. I just got a month subscription for PIA, but should I configure my torrent client to use the SOCKS5 proxy, or will the VPN by itself be enough? Sorry for the stupid questions.
the single threaded advantage is huge when you consider very few things are optimized for multiple cores. web browsing, office work, 90% of games, etc are all only 1 or 2 threads. don't underestimate a pair of haswell hyperthreaded cores running at 3.5GHz. The G3258 looks like an awesome bargain also.
The 8350 is only good at very specific heavily threaded integer work loads.
I dunno, he doesn't even know if he cares for programming, seems like a lot of work to learn for something that he might hate. Advantage though, if you learn C first anon, it will prepare you for basically every language.
i think c is a pretty good beginners language, as it's fairly small, so it doesn't take forever to actually know its features and it teaches you about how computers work, which other languages often tend to omit. of course it's gonna take a long time to actually get good at it, but i think if your goal is to be a good programmer, c is a good language to start with. either that or something like haskell or lisp, which i guess are more the computer science approach that'll teach you concepts and algorithms rather than how your computer works.
if you just want to write some programs, python or java aren't bad choices, but i think they're dangerous if you actually want to learn something because they have a level of abstraction that allows you to write code you don't understand.
I guess I can see your point, and the G3258 is a sweet deal if you meet the criteria for it, and are willing to overclock it to the max. It will stomp the i3.
Otherwise i5 locked or k edition will do you fine.
So I just took a Sec+ boot camp course and I'm interested in wep cracking and such.
I've googled around [I only googled once] apparently you cant do anything with a Galaxy S4. Unless I'm reading some old threads and links.
Any help, suggestions ? Or even reading material ?
Why does Moot use .png for /sci/'s LaTeX characters?
Is this some limitation of jsMath or has he already commented on this?
Wouldn't .svg allow arbitrary scaling?

I fucking love you for not using Dwight
I wanna buy a vps, just for dicking around. I found a pretty good deal on interserver.net, comes with a gig of ram and 25gig hd space, now all that's left is choosing the distro. I know I wanna use centos, but not sure which release I should use. My options include:- 6 x64
- 6 devel x64
- 6 minimal x64
- 7 minimal 07072014 x64
and a bunch of others. All I want to be able to do is ssh into my server, maybe vnc but I probably want a leaner desktop than gnome, ftp access to files, and compile+run c++ / java server projects. Also, I don't care about being on the bleeding edge, so I'll probably go with one of the 6's.
How do I go about switching to Dvorak layout from QWERTY? I have a Filco Majestouch-2 tenkeyless on order and I figured new keyboard, new layout.
I know HOW to change my layout, but I'm just wondering how long I can expect it to take me to become accustomed to using a new keyboard layout.
Do you work in data entry? Typing speed shouldn't be a bottleneck if your doing something worthwhile, and if you're working efficiently, you'll be using so many keyboard shortcuts that dvorak isn't an option. And you'll look like a fucktard when you need to do something on someone's qwerty board.
OP, if you're using iOS 7, it's got this thing where you have to approve the computer you're connecting it to. Maybe that's what's causing the problem. Check your phone to see if it pops up a dialog when you connect it, asking whether or not you trust the computer.
If my friend keeps evading bans, will 4chan contact their ISP?
what could be the reason?
when downloading files the speed trails off sometimes and the remaining time estimate stays constant or keeps growing
Is there any opensores GPS tracking software for android?
Also this. Because the architecture is x86. Intel started out with it very early. 8086, 286, 386, 486, and then the Pentium. However, since the Pentium was still based on the same architecture, it got the x86 moniker that has stuck around until today.
I understand your plight. Reds are unsatisfactory.

Can all rooted android phones use wifi tethering? I'm on StraightTalk if carrier effects it.
How much does tethering effect battery life? I'm hoping to tether maybe 4 hours a day on top of normal phone usage.
Is the best cheap android phone still the moto g?
Would I be better off buying used?
No, assuming the resolution and refresh rates are the same.
>my C drive
That is a Windows term.
The answer depends on whether you want to keep data from your Windows partition. If you do, you'll want to move it to an external HDD or something so you don't need to worry.
I have a bluetooth dongle but it's case is fuckd. The windows drivers I find don't work at all. Are their any drivers I can download somewhere to make this piece of shit work? It works fine on ubuntu.
>Can all rooted android phones use wifi tethering? I'm on StraightTalk if carrier effects it.
pretty much. straight talk will throttle you when you reach the high speed cap.
Wifi tethering kills the phone. If you want 4 hours, use a USB cable.
but theres an upper limit on the resolution
vga can't do more than 1080 without trouble, single link DVI can do up to 1920x1200
but assuming the resolution stays below that limit the picture quality should be the same yes?
CS student here. I'll soon have my two month semester break and will probably be working all of it at a company where I already had my semester long internship half a year ago. How much €uros can I expect to get for those two months?
For the internship I got 500€ a month.
Hey guys, i wanna test out ncmpcpp (Using Windows here) installed it and runed it (No Prob since with mpd and Xming) but i cant use the Visualiser from mpd, always say "No such audio output plugin: fifo".
are either of these good? I was also looking at the Dell U2412M
jwt18000 is what's written on it's side. Windows says it's just a generic bluetooth radio under device manager.
my laptop is running at about 115 C when in high performance mode and between 89-100 in power saver
i'm in desperate need of a good cooling fan, what would /g/ recommend besides not getting a laptop in the first place? I have 30 bucks
So I installed a piece of software to edit MKV's, and somehow that caused MPC to stop showing subtitles on all of my MKV's. I also noticed a bunch of my videos won't play now.
So I uninstalled that software, the subtitles are back, but the bunch of my videos that used to play fine in MPC don't play or crash still do so, so i'm thinking that either the other thing didn't uninstall all the way or something else is going on.
Any suggestions or ideas of what might be going on here? Most of the files that won't play now are blu ray rips, and they are all MPEG-4's of some kind for their video codec
One doesn't have 4G LTE, meaning only 3G speeds. The other... get this, has 4G LTE meaning that it gets 4G LTE speeds, which are faster than that of 3G.
You only benefit if your service has 4G or 4G LTE speeds.
Quickest way to do file concatenation in golang.
using exec to call cat fails because it doesn't understand shell operators like * and >. Would I just have to read in and then write all the files? I could use multireader and then write it all to a file? But I'm not 100% sure how to use them.
Actually: MPC will only open some episodes of this series.
VLC opens all of them.
I open each up in VLC and screencap their codec's, and all 3 videos have the exact same audio and video codecs, so why the fuck is only 1 out of the 3 playing in mpc?
Just make sure to ground yourself, I honestly believe that that's the only major thing to help cool laptops. What brand is it?
Sorry, I thought I was being funny but actually was kind of rude. 3G speeds are more than fast enough for myself, but if you are browsing a lot from your phone you may want the 4G.
Surveillance is an internet problem not a Google or Dropbox problem. Migrating away from these service will have no affect on NSA capabilities. There are measures you can take nut just avoiding the large internet companies isn't one of them.
I also want to install ffdshow for SVP, but i'm a retard and when I install it I can't tell if checkingoff all these formats will fuck with the default codecs and renderers in my video players or not.
I have the battery removed and a dinner plate half in place where the battery was so its slightly elevated while not actually underneath the laptop, so air can get underneath the laptop while it sits on my desk
is there an option with two fans or is coolmaster the best?
i'll be getting it and http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B007ZH9OFI/ref=acr_offerlistingpage_text?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1 for a psp I found in storage
i've i'm only spending around 40 I might pick up a new mouse from goodwill
I want to build a basic machine for NAS with RAID 5. Using software RAID in either debian or arch. I plan on using a Coolermaster Elite 370 case that's been hanging a round for a while, it has room for plenty of large fans and I can fit 10 HDDs in it.
What I need help with is CPU and HDD selection.
WD Caviar green, red or black? There is minimal price difference between green and red.
For the CPU I was looking at AMD semprons but I've stuck with AMD for a while and I'm not impressed with what I'm seeing. What do I need from Intel? A small low power celeron?
The Coolermaster U2 is the same thing with only 2 fans.
HP is known for heat issues, it's not just brand bashing. I would say that at least half the HP laptops I've dealt with have had heating issues, and the other half I'd be willing to bet will encounter heating issues in the future.
Like I said, not brand bashing, HP is a brand I avoid at all costs.
Let me ask here as well:
Which Linux distro is best suited to be made into a LiveCD for the sole purpose of encrypting and viewing encrypted content? Is on-the-fly de-cryption supported?
I'm open to run it off a USB with persistent storage as well if necessary.
So how bad are TN panels really? I was originally looking at the PB278Q but after hearing about the ROG Swift (PG278Q) I am thinking about getting that instead. I know /g/ constantly shits on TN panels, but I am wondering if the difference between IPS and TN panels is really noticeable enough to warrant giving up 144hz and G-SYNC.
So... What does /g/ think?
>don't nigger out of your psu ever
So what I was looking at was the rosewill capstone 550W modular style. Would this be alright? I'm guessing gold 80+ is not the definite sign of overall quality?
Red, it is.
What is so bad about software RAID? This is the first time I've done this and I wanting to learn about it is one of the reasons why I'm doing it, so please tell me. Everything I've read so far tells me that software RAID in Linux is the right way to go about it.
Using software to implement RAID means your processor has to do all the work, instead of having a hardware controller do it for you. You greatly increase your processing needs, especially for a RAID5 array.
Most mobos from the last 5 years support hardware RAID, even microATX boards.
Is there a program for linux to search the pirate bay dump? I'm used to usinggrep "search term" ~/complete | lessbut when trying to make this a shell function i discovered that tcsh doesn't support functions. Can anyone provide an alias or program to do this for me? Bonus points for extra usability over what I use now.
>caring about the layout of your desktop
Seriously, you use your computer for programs, which have windows that cover the desktop. Stop caring. Alternatively, provide more details.
I think you'd need a VPN for that
>doesn't answer any questions
use a couple of lines from a song, that will be easy to remember and long enough that you don't need to worry about capitalistion or symbols
Sure, using some things has a bigger impact on your privacy than other things. But in total, even if it has a little impact, every little helps. It's better to have an insecure encryption than none, as dragnet breaking of even insecure encryption is so much harder than plain dragnet surveillance
on that website it says
To change the value of a flag (ie if it's set, unset it; if it's unset, set it) use the ~ operator:
lFlags = lFlags & ~FLAG_C;
But how can the & operator flip a bit that is 0? the only thing that AND can do is unset a bit with a negative bit. But to set a bit, dont you have to use OR? if your bit is 0, it will always stay 0, regardless of whether you AND it with a 0 or 1.
Define intense heat? I think phones are usually rated to work up to 50 degrees, which will be painful on skin after a few minutes. Even still though, it probably isn't good to be in extreme temps even if the handbook says it's okay
There's no benefit in a dedicated soundcard over the built in unless your mobo doesn't provide 5.1 surround and that's what you need or anything
look on torrentfreak
Start with python, probably then take a look at C to see what you think, but python's probably more what you want
I think so, yes. A usb2 hub in a usb3 port will run at usb2 speed
moot refuses to use svg ;_;
The second line defines swap to be 0 and swap to be 1. Look up dictionaries
But isn't that the point of building a RAID server? It's not going to be doing anything else. It's also cheaper to buy a more powerful CPU than it is to buy a RAID controller. Also why install more drivers, when I can just use software readily available in the distro of my choice?
You don't really know what you're talking about or I'm being rused. Either way, build your build the way you want. Apparently the idea of "RAID controller built into the motherboard" went over your head or something.
Good luck with everything though, I have no idea why anyone would overspend on a processor for a NASbox instead of using a RAID array unless its just to spite logic but that's your business.
no, unless they're posting cp
back up all your shit from windows, then reinstall mint to the full drive rather than trying to faff around with partitions
Strange, never seen snything like that before. I think some ISPs have a higher bandwidth limit for the first few minutes or megabytes of a connection, it could be that.
Technically, a lot. In normal usage, nothing. Reply if you want more detail.
Unlesss you want to risk totallylegitdrivers.ru, the manufacturer's site is the best place to get drivers. If that doesn't work, give up.
probably mainly just torrenting and bypassing firewalls
a couple of hours at most
Does it shutdown/sleep? Is that what you wnt?
tin hat linux or tails
>You don't really know what you're talking about
Most likely. What I want is to is build a RAID array that I can access from four different machines. Is there somewhere I can read about this? Because what I'm coming up with obviously isn't giving me the right answers.
>get a motherboard that supports raid, case, processor, memory, hard drives
>make sure HDDs are all the same speed and capacity
>configure RAID in BIOS
>install freenas or linux
>configure file server
Really isn't too complicated.
NP, a good tip, don't overspend on memory or processing power if it's only going to be used by 4 computers at a time, you'll be bottlenecked by network speed or i/o before processing power or memory.
Don't install like 2 GB or something silly though, but for 4 people, anything more than 8GB or RAM would be overkill
I'm running Arch on my current desktop, but I'm building another one to replace it. If I just popped out my old hard drive and plugged it into the new desktop, would everything still run fine? Or am I going to have to install everything again?
Lately, Firefox is being a slow piece of shit in every aspect. From loading pictures on 4chan to searching shit around in other tabs. I seriously don't get it. I've noticed the problem gets worse as I have more tabs open (and I have 8gb's of ram). It'll get to the point of being unusable.
I don't know what the fuck it is, I'm even using Firefox without any addons and it's still the same.
Anyone run into this issue? What the hell happened?
I rooted my device via towelroot, but I need a root management app. The only problem is that Samsung KNOX is still active, and I'm worried that if I update the superuser binary that my phone will brick (the only option is recovery install) Any advice?
I recently uninstalled a piece of software that was fucking with MPC, but when I uninstalled it, it informed me it was nor able to entirely do so and I would have to manually remove the rest of the files.
Sure enough, MPC is still having (some) issues. I found a folder in program files/common files from the software, but i'm not sure what I should do.
Should I just delete it? Or should I be using something else to remove them?
Any idea why a certain NZB is only downloading at 4 KB/s?
It's 713 days old, and my provider has a retention of 2162 days. So I don't know what the problem is, all other files I try download at full speed just fine.
AVI Trimmer + MKV 2
I know it's obvious basic shovel/bloatware video editing software, but I was desperate to find a MKV editing sotware with a GUI that can append, trim, and rip/add subtitles without re-enconding the videos. In fact i'm still desperate.
All subtitles in MKV video's stopped showing up. I'm still not sure if the fact a bunch of videos are unplayable in MPC now is related or not, but the subtitle thing was fixed as soon as I uninstalled it.
It's season 1 of the sopranos, the only BD rip I can find.
>Why even use nzb?
Because it's all I know how to use as far as usenet goes. I open them with sabnzbd, I only get the errors you mentioned rarely.
Do you have any leftover stuff from a previous MPC install? I had a similar issue, I forgot to remove LAV before installing a new version. What do you see when loading one of these unplayable files? Any error?
>Do you have any leftover stuff from a previous MPC install?
No, because this was my intial MPC install, and nothing had changed from this happening till last time I watched these files other then installing that software.
>What do you see when loading one of these unplayable files? Any error?
Depends on the file. Some of them crashes MPC, some just freeze it till windows closes it for being unresponsive, some play the audio but have no video, some play audio with no video, but it's just random noise, etc.
All/most of the files used to play in MPC, though, and all of them play fine in VLC
720p Sony tv, Acer LED monitor.
Just bought a new graphics card, HDMI port and DVI port, tried using HDMI port for my tv, but resolution fucks up, minor grain, darker screen, messed up colors. DVI port on both monitor and TV is excellent. Tried messing around with the tv settings on the HDMI port, but resolution won't fix, when I play a game my tv enters ''scene change'' and resolution goes from semi-shit to completely unreadable.
Is HDMI is messed up like that? Or am I messing with the wrong settings??
Why not try uninstalling/reinstalling? Tick the box to clear your settings on reinstalling. If you haven't done it in a while, you probably have an older version anyway.
I'm not, but it looks like registration is open. Is this what you use? I pretty much only use nzbclub and binsearch.
Is there a way to give the Windows 7's taskbar a "smart" hide option? Similar to "windows can cover" option on KDE panel?
The taskbar is visible until a window cover it, then you have drag the mouse pointer to the screen edge to show the taskbar.
Okay, so, I unistalled and am re-installing a newer version of LAV, what the fuck is it asking me here, exactly? Which formats LAV will be able to be used with, or what formats LAV will be used with by default from now on?
can I install an operating system on a USB stick (non live) and if so how do I do it? I'm wanting to install OpenBSD for yeeloong netbook and I think it's something to do with Pmon but it's not mounting the directories properly to alow booting from the USB. I can make a live OpenBSD, but for some reason Full OS just doesn't work.
radio question here
I'm a ham radio operator and I want to start my own 24/7 channel, but I can't broadcast from my apartment because there's too much interference. Does anyone know if I can rent/lease an antenna? Like the ones you see ontop of mountains, and then ssh or whatever into their server/portal and broadcast from there?
how do I manage which matrix an object is drawn on with opengl?
how do I set with mtrix is being rotated with glrotatef?
I made a cube and got it to rotate with regular c++, but thought it would be practical to have the gfx card do all of the matrix matj instead. but using glrotate my cube rotates, but also moves back and forth.
sorry. but windows is for x86_64 architecture and phones all use something like ARM. there are people porting things like arch to phones, but windows is closed source so only Microsoft would be able to do that. even if you could somehow get Windows on your phone Windows is a very bloated os so it would be impossible to run.
Could anyone explain to me what this utilization limit part is in Afterburner? I'm mainly wondering if it has anything to do with why I crashed while very briefly being at 100% usage. I wanted to get it back up to that again to see if it would happen once more, but I could only get it up to 99% through stress tests and it's very stable at that. Just hoping there's nothing wrong with my new card.
What program do you *Nix fags use for rar files?
I've been using unrar on my FreeBSD based server, but for some reason the -r switch isn't working right, and I'd like to try a different program before I have to go through each folder and extract shit manually.
>I have me horizontal just because my ram is in the way
Don't you mean vertical?
I installed mine on horizontal because I followed a video guide and the guy installed it like this, but I fear that the fan takes the heat from the GPU. Also I fear that installing vertical would be a pain in the ass because the heatsink might make screwing in place difficult.
Which thermal paste is the best? Is Arctic Silver 5 still good?
Is there any way to get a lower quality version of a twitch.tv archive on my computer?
It's about 560MB per half hour to stream, and I don't have that kind of bandwidth.
On partner pages I can select the quality, but it's not there for this one.
Is there some service that can expose the twitch mobile applications' stream URL, so I can watch that?
The software is completely legit with 7loader though. You use a legit copy of 7 from MS's own repos and then just trick the authenticators into thinking it's an OEM copy. No cracks or anything.
But long as he's paying for it I suppose your customer can dictate how he wants his OS..
you could buy a 5ghz router if you don't have one already if every one around you uses 2.4 that is if your electronics support 5ghz
buy and old router and change it to a repeater
Is there something else you feel like you should be doing? If not, fuck it. Do what you enjoy.
>Yes, give all your shekels for pieces of paper.
>implying almost all forms of currency aren't just different pieces of paper.
Using awesome and im get pretty bad screen tearing when i watch vlc, could someone help me out.
What are the good 120mm case fans currently?
I heard Cougar's PWM 120s have problems when mounted horizontally, but for 9 bucks they seem alright. Much better than the cheapo Coolermasters I have now
So, check who admins the page.
Or, if it's someone nearby, lure them into a long facebook conversation and use etherape in monitor mode the check which devices are hitting facebook (you can further single out akahamid addresses, since that's their CDN, and isn't hit by messages)
Or, just look at who's using a computer at the time.
Standard Doxing rules also apply.
Everything randomly crashes on my computer. League of Legends gives me all kinds of errors, Counter-Strike Go also crashes. Chromium tabs stop working.
MBAM scans reveal nothing so I'm thinking it's a problem with my hardware. I have no idea.
fuck, I'm interested now.
Copy down as much information from the page as possible, and then report it like crazy.
To get facebook pages reinstated, you need photo id, if you can find an email, even a fake one, you're in business.
New thread is here:
>TFW Dwight is kill
you're not friends with the guy right?
If there's really a severe lack of information on the profile, I suggest sending him to a site you operate and recording his IP / phishing for data.
shortners can link to .co.nr sites, and BeeF is pretty easy to run once you have backtrack operational.
You can run it off of your own computer, just find an excuse to link with a URL shortener, and hit him with all of the exploits.
Then, you have a shell in their machine.
Alternately, use your words and ruse the sumbitch into giving up pieces of information.
What OS are you running right now?
There's this linux distro called backtrack, you can use that to "script kiddie" your way into this guy's computer.
There's this application collection on it called BeeF (browser executable exploitation framework) which creates a malicious site that gives you a shell on their computer without their knowledge.
From there, you can list file contents and copy files back to your own computer, as well as find very specific location data. If they're using a secure browser, you'll have their IP address from this, and you can use another utility, called autopwn, which runs every web exploit known to man until one works and then you have a shell.
Basically, I'm suggesting you crack into this guy's computer and get the information that way.
Windows 8, and I think installing a new OS is a bit too much of a hassle. I'll just ruse him into sending another picture and hope that has the exif data I need (and by the way, what is the best way to view EXIF data?)
>I think installing a new OS is a bit too much of a hassle
backtrack runs off of an USB stick.
>I'll just ruse him into sending another picture and hope that has the exif data I need (and by the way, what is the best way to view EXIF data?
Maybe facebook is stripping it, try getting it somewhere else. (try telling him that facebook might be trying to push webp again, and it's not showing up in your browser so you need the image somewhere else)
I'm using http://regex.info/exif.cgi at the minute.
Check the data on that site, there's not much information in that image. (I think facebook recodes images anyway, unless you're downloading the original with the download button)
>or will something like imgur do?
I'm not certain, because I always use pomf.se, but your mileage may vary.
If they're anyway smart, they are also stripping data. What kinds of things are being posted on the facebook page?
