Post your custom rices. And remember, rate to get rated.
I actually have a Galaxy S5 so it does have buttons but yes I do have a few gestures on too. That seems a little too cluttered for me, too much writing.
Its not, I have salad fingers.
How do I make mine this nice they look so... clean
Its all about having a boring wallpaper that doesn't really focus on any certain point in it. Also having minimalistic icons helps. Im using Tiny white icons. No real way to customize your app drawer much though.
Your space up top is really empty because of the sky right? You should put a darker transparent background on your music widget and put it up to since the bottom is too cluttered.
Please be gentle, only just got an android yesterday. Still don't know how to rice up the lockscreen.
And heres my shitty lockscreen
One unspoken rule: never, ever put an icon on your homescreen that isn't affected by your icon pack. And your wallpaper doesn't match the icons. And remove the little page counter circle things at the bottom. If you want I would gladly help you out more directly on steam or something.
I sort of dislike the idea of having a wallpaper if I'm going to cover it with widgets
Try editing the wallpaper so you have an area for the widgets that doesn't overlap with the image.
here is the best rice on the market
does /g/ have a preferred ROM and Kernel for the S4? specifically SCH-R970 for U.S. Cellular
the phone came loaded with so much garbage that it's a lost cause, I need to just flatten and rebuild
That actually looks nice, the issue is that I don't even know what to use widgets for. I can check hour and battery just fine, I don't use the calendar, I don't listen to music...
It's not my current setup but it's a lot prettier than what I have now
Those icons really don't match the wallpaper
also, you're using unthemed icons. You're able to individually assign them to certain icons if you're set on that icon theme.
wallpaper and icon choice for the wallpaper is nice though
love it, except for those icons on the second screen
why are they stock?
Functional. Still don't like the android L navigation buttons though :I
Get a more consistent icon theme
I personally use Tiny White Icons because they go with everything so I would recommend those until you know what you're doing. Experiment with smaller widgets and wallpapers until you see something you like.
/v/irgin here, I need some help regarding the purchase of a Android phone. I have been looking around on the net for subscription free phones and these niggas are pricey as fuck.
I found a HTC Desire 310 and looked up some reviews and its kinda mixed. I can get it for 130 euros so Im considering it. I do not care performswise since I probably would only use
whatsapp, kik or facebook
. Im only willing to spend 170 on a phone.
Please guide me.
Not many rice in here, but I am happy with it so far.
Well the lack of built in customization for everything though its like that on most phones. But this lockscreen is seriously cluttered, I don't know if its just my phone but damn I had to remove it completely. Generally its a great phone but only slightly improved on the S4 in all aspects. Oh and it gets your friends jealous.
GENIUINE FAGGOT QUESTION
I have an iPhone 4 and obviously upgrading soon. Why do people bash iOS so much? I have never used Android. What kind of advantages could I get that I can't on Jailbreak?
Well for one theres jackshit support and customization for jailbreaking compared to androids hundreds on thousands of widgets and icon packs. Also most iphones can't get creative as far as I have seen in these threads since they have to follow the basic layout of all iphones.
The biggest reason why people do it on here is because it's popular and easy to use for normal people. To be as cool as possible, you have to hate on iOS. Plus the way apple does things is generally disliked. With a jailbreak, there's somewhat similar capabilities to what you can do on android, just not quite as much. >>43036615 is somewhat right, except it's the users, not the platform. iOS is decently capable in terms of homescreen ricing, but the kind of people that would use an iPhone are also the kind of people that would change an icon pack, use a shitty icon layout and a wallpaper and call it a day. There are few people who really want to customize on iOS because most would have switched to android already.
So it literally boils down to customisation? I wouldn't mind not being able to have a special, different phone from the rest. I thought it had something to do with productivity/performance.
Not much to see here. Waiting for a recovery for the Moto G LTE before I even root this phone. Also need to let it run for a month to make sure its not flawed in anyway way before I void my warranty.
Well performance is an issue too, but not as much. A 300 euro android can outpreform a 600 iPhone in terms of preformance. So imagine a 600 euro android. But its not that big of a deal since they all run smoothly unless you fuck something up.
I got it from here
You say theres nothing to see but you managed to make it look worse than nothing
Better? Dash Clock is displaying Fahrenheit instead of Celsius though.

look for the words homescreen and customization
Apple doesn't allow apps on the app store to interact with each other, modify anything regarding how the phone works, or do anything other than work inside of their own window. There are no other capabilities other than what they can do inside a window, while running. You can't access the filesystem, or really edit anything. No roms, no launchers. Locked down homescreen. Android allows apps do do pretty much whatever the hell they want, and that's just on apps from the app store. Some people complain about the quality of apps on android, but they still have the choice to use the popular, expensive, simple apps if they want to. At least android gives you the option to use all the others out there.
Mine is still really plain and basic, any ideas on how to improve it?
Move the clock widget so it's not covering the face
I'm screaming internally over the non-integer scaling
looks great otherwise
>that binary clock
Why do people think this looks good
>43 degrees in July
Where the hell do you live
R8 my b8 but pls don't h8
Theres an option to make it celsius. And yes its better but the icons without an icon pack still ruin your deal.
Get a more interesting but still basic wallpaper and add some icons to the bottom. Maybe remove the icon drawer button if thats possible.
>I have salad fingers.
What are your thoughts on rust?
Its a pretty fun game with friends but very lacking in its content so you have to get creative with what you've got.
Why is it I can save a screen shot and email it but if I go to access it off the drive it shows up at 0k?
I want to rice and customize but im happy with my current set up.
hey are you the same guy that made this?
You mean by changing the system dpi? I used to do the reverse with my Nexus 4 back in the days of PA 3.99, but I haven't bothered with trying to play around with the App Settings Xposed module yet on kitkat, so I'm not sure how you will fare going from tablet to phone UI.
8/10 - It's subiective. I just don't like the dock.
5/10 - Nothing special
7/10 - Simple.
-1/10 - 2 clocks, da icon next to phone icon, wtf man, delete this shit and rice da andruid
6/10 - Great wallpaper, but icons don't match it. Inb4 change da navbar to transparent.
3/10 - The widget under the "dock" is really ruining this composition.
7/10 - Everything is alright, but clock is too big and it's taking all of the attention in yo humscrin
Too much icons for me, but all - 6/10
6/10 - it's okay
It's not a functionality for me, but 8/10
Get da icons on yo humscrin. You are on a good way. Just match the icons with wallpaper.
Dunno about wallpaper is it just a low quality or it's just the style of it. 6/10
I like it. My friend have a similar homesreen. 7/10
Couldn't find a decent blank for the phone
The clock looks kinda weird and out-of-place. It'd be better without the shadow (to better match the icons) and without the ring) 6/10
7/10 the clock looks strange
8/10 The camera and messaging icons look strange in color when the rest is monochrome
Nothing really special.
Dont know how to remove the bottom dark bar
Do you think this clock looks a bit better?
too many for fedback
9/10, I don't know what it is about nexus homescreens but they just do it for me
6/10, it's hard to judge with a resolution so small
Took some advice from some of you.
G3 gets here tomorrow!
I suddenly found myself filled to the brim from the most delectable dicks.
and here's my current set up, just changed the icon pack and wallpaper, widgets are the same
OP guy is back. Gonna rate some guys who didn't get rates.
Happy I could change your mind.
2 clocks/10 otherwise, nothing special. I was going to give you a 6 but then I noticed your date and it was barely visible. 5
Read that image guide in my op post. When you have something basic, then ask for our advice.
I love it. Whats the music widget? 8
Really standard setup, pretty boring overall. Get a new wallpaper, yes. With that layout you can pull off any wallpaper and probably get a constant 6. Maybe 7 with a better wallpaper.
1. Put some effort into it man, you did nothing. Whats with the deviantart caption?
I wonder if there's an icon set like that on Android
Those minimalistic icons are the only thing that makes them look good
R8 my b8 but pls don't h8
>wonder if theres an icon set like that on Android
well im not him but ive found one accidentally. Its called "Minimalist icons". I got it from deviant art.
Oh and its like you left space for a clock but forgot to put it there. You don't have much on your screen and the only 2 things you do have don't mix well. 5
thinking about installing a custom ROM but I don't know which to use. If I fuck up installing it would I be able to return to default software?
Looks nice. 8
I dont use any roms. 6.
Don't really like the icons but I see how they go with the wallpaper. 6
Dude you and that other guy with the similar homescreen have the best ones. Even though that 'area' widget seems kinda pointless it looks good. I wish I could abandon my minimalism for something like that. 9.5
Got calendar to the right and agenda to the left
HaxrCorp messes up the degree symbols on my weather widget.
Just got my Moto G today. Still running stock should I use a custom ROM or just a custom Kernel?
Am I edgy yet /g/? I even type with minuum keyboard
