Still has to go through the regulators first to which they'll block. AT&T faild miserably and can't wait for Sprint to do the same, extra 2 bill for T-Mobile.
>>
>>43006382
>Industry analyst Moffett Nathanson thinks there is less than a 10% chance the deal is approved.
Anyways that doesn't really harm me as a consumer right now, does it? I can get one of t-mobiles cost-efficient plans right now, wait out the supposed merge that should take place in the next two months, and just cruise through the next year
Also the merge wouldn't even be that bad. Exactly like how the article shows, the merge still leaves them below Verizon and AT&T

There's barely any space left over when KitKat is installed, so I haven't been able to use it as a daily. The weird kickstand is annoying too. Other than that my only gripes are the lack of WiMAX support in later versions of android. Good for the cash considering I bought it used.

- AT&T-compatible Straight Talk SIM
- Cyanogenmod 11 nightly
- Nova Prime
- I LOVE the display, build quality, screen-off gestures, camera, rapid charger and notification light.

@ ~4.5hrs of screen-on time, the battery life could be better, but the rapid charger more than makes up for it. They advertise 75% in 30 minutes, but my experience is more like 82% in 19 minutes. The screen is really tall, but PIE controls, and gestures make it manageable. I wish it had an IR blaster.

I don't know Verizon, but do you have the Sony Z2 and LG G3 as options as well?

If you want good hardware and battery life, don't mind some bloatware, get the S5. Want a good camera, get the Z2. Go for M8 if you really can't stand bloat and plastic phones. G3 if all you care about is moar pixels.

Remove all of the samsung bloatware you don't need, or at least disable it if you're not rooted. How many apps do you have that run background process/have constant notifications? Better uninstall or turn off notifications.
Also I suggest you root your phone and install greenify. With root some major battery-saving tweaks are possible, so you should google those (including installing a custom kernel).
Don't be a consumerist pleb and buy new shit instead of fixing your old shit, especially if in this case it's just a matter of software.

The phone is fast enough and feels sturdy. Android L seems like a good improvement over Android 4.4; thanks to the animations, unified design and battery life extension.
I feel that the camera could be better, despite software improvements.
I don't like the forced Google+ integration for everything.
I don't like the Chrome mobile browser, and hope that Google one day overhauls that.
Recently bought a Chromecast kit, and that really integrates well with the ecosystem.
In general I'd say that I'm happy with the phone and the ecosystem, but of course there is always room for improvements and Google knows that.

Greetings. My name is Patrick Bateman™, and I have contacted you for important matters.

I have taken notice to your post. It is of high quality™, but it's not the contents of the post that I'm interested by, it's the post-number.

Your post-number is unlike any other that I've ever seen. It is unique, as no other will ever obtain your distinct strand of numbers, but that is not the only unique thing about it.

Look at the numbers at the very end. Take a close look at them, and you might even realize it, too. Your post-number has ended in repeating digits, that is why I am contacting you.

I don't want to seem like a bother, as I understand that you're very busy crafting hundreds of quality™ posts such as the one I am replying to, but this is a matter more important than posts. It's a matter of life and death.

Here on 4chan, it is the most important rule of all that repeating digits much be checked and kek'd, that is why I am contacting you. I am here to check and kek your repeating digits, for it is a matter of religious importance.

So, after all this patience and discussion, I will now check your repeating digits. Here I go: #Checked

Now that your repeating digits have been checked by me, it is now time for me to leave. I cannot spend all day checking your repeating digits, no matter how much I love them. The reason? More digits must be checked.

Regards, Patrick Bateman™.

+ Perfect size
+ Very good build quality
+ Very nice display
+ Performance is just what I need for everyday usage
+ LTE (after transitioning from 3G)
+ Developer Community still strong
+ Speakers are very nice, even better/louder than my laptop, not to mention front facing
+ Poweramp is the best app ever

- Camera is garbage in everything but low light, Google manages to make it even more garbage with their 4.4.4 camera
- No SD Card Slot
- Below average battery life
- Lack of navigation buttons (only has home and back)
- Sense 6 is shit, 5 was much better.

Ridiculous speed and smoothness
Instant updates and community support
Battery life (not sure why there are so many complaints, I get at least 7 hours of SOT which is more than enough for me)

Take those with a grain of salt since I come from an incredibly shitty phone)

Dislike :

As far as I know it's extremely brittle, so I'm in constant fear of dropping it
Speakers are shit

I used an iPhone 4 for the past 3 years. This thing is a lot more responsive, and the screen is a lot more vivid. It was definitely a real step up. I don't like my phones too large after getting used to that iPhone either, so this is a pretty good size, although a little wider than I'd like.

there is a libre smartphone, I think it's called the GTA04, runs replicant. It's just a developer phone.

Holy shit the difference in going from 2.3 to 4.4 is insane. How did Google do this? The phone is slow still but the transitions are swift and the phone is responsive enough. It won't be my daily driver but it makes me want to consider going back to android full-time.

Battery, screen (!!!!!!), waterproofing, camera is decent, mostly solid performance, back feels good, incredibly fast charging
>dislikes
Samsung can't into software and it shows. Random stutters and half second lockups, touchwiz is awful, apps close after about 40 minutes but only sometimes, camera sometimes just completely fails to take a shot. The squareness of the design is uncomfortable but might be a concession to waterproofing.

Under the right light, you can see the bezel is actually two toned. The inner bezel is more or less identical in shape and size of the S4. I think that's rather interesting. I have a black s5.

Depends on the phone really, if you're running a dual core with 2gb ram or more, then a couple more cores would be more useful, even at a low frequency like say 1ghz, if you're running a quad core with 1gb ram you will benefit from that extra gb of ram.
