My Moto G doesn't work with my cars FM transmitter. The transmitter works with other devices, and the Moto G works with other aux devices (headphones). I'm thinking the aux plug on the transmitter is too short, but it really does fit in there snugly. Not sure what to do.

I'm wondering if there are any Android launchers that support diagonal icon layouts. I have a hexagonal icon pack and it doesn't look great unless it's diagonal to one another.

Anyway to prevent Windows from searching certain folders? It doesn't have to be TrueCrypt-level protection, just to prevent family looking for vacation photos from finding lewd photos.

Currently I just have them hidden with the folder options set to not show hidden, but that's like the first thing you turn off if your looking for anything. Also indexing is disabled.

Indexing is the only way to disable certain folders from showing up in the search inquiry.

Finally making the switch and putting Ubuntu onto a mini-notebook that I have. I chose it after doing some research and learning that it is the most user friendly.

Right now im downloading the Ubuntu 13.10 ISO 64-bit version and will mount/install on my 16gb thumb drive. I've already set booting order to USB priority on my laptop.

I chose the "Desktop" version. It will work on my laptop, right?

Also, the laptop has 2gb of ram. Its an Acer 722 Inspiron One. Only about 3 years old. Is 64bit the correct version?

It was the reverse for me, I found FL to be really cluttered and unintuitive especially when making beats. Maybe its because I started on Ableton so thats how I "wired" myself when working with DAWs

>>
>>40546776
they can't prove you are or not. They would have to have some serious proof. Back up your shit and then take the rest there. Just clean up your browser, cleanup your torrents.
Torrenting itself is not illegal. torrenting is for the need of big files.

OK example:

I was talking to my dad about this today. I was thinking of ripping my real windows 7 starter disk to my dad. I was going to rip, turn it into an ISO, then make a torrent, then send it too him on facebook. NOW because it's from 1 person to another not a bunch of people, then it's not "stealing" like everyone wants to believe. It's more or less making a copy for PERSONAL USE and not resale or anything, The police cannot arrest you for torrenting itself. The content yes. but they have to have REAL proof of you torrenting illegal movies. For all they know you could of borrowed the movie, or gotten it from red box. ripped it yourself and kept a copy. Now are you selling it? no. Are you torrenting it yourself? most likely not. see the point? They can't say anything to you that they don't know. It would be like blaming someone for a murder who had an alibi.

I don't know if this helped or not but I tried.
>>
>>40546723
>it said I needed ~200gb for the partition

This might more go in the programming general or whatever, but I think it's pretty dumb to ask this, being a programming noob in general.

If I want to release something like a standalone command line utility for all platforms, for Linux or Mac OSX, how would I go about doing that?

In Windows, you can provide a .exe and if it's static, everyone can run it as a command line tool with no problems in terms of dependencies, end of story.

For Mac OSX, do I use a .dmg to distribute something like that? What about Linux? tar.bz? Are they really standalone?

Upgrade path for a faggot with a AM3 (non-plus) motherboard.

Currently my system is:
955BE @ 3.6GHz (c2 stepping, awful overclockers.)
8GB of DDR3-1333 corsair cheapo ram.
MSI Radeon R9 270 gaming.

My choices seem to be:
Dump a 1090t on my current motherboard.
8350 and an AM3+ motherboard.
Core i5 4670k and a 1150 motherboard.

Obviously, the 1090t is the cheapest option, but will give the smallest boost in performance compared to my existing Deneb.

The Intel CPU and motherboard will set me back a few quid and while not a fanboy, I do have a slight soft spot towards AMD due to having been buggered by intel & Netburst in the past.

Advice?
>>
>>40550204
Lol, no.
A mobo is a mobo is a mobo. If the MSI model has the features you need..buy it. If the VI has the rice you crave..buy it. that simple.
>>
>>40550481
Just wondering but generally what are differences between mobos - what differentiates one from another besides the socket? Like why is there big price gaps?

The only features I'd really need are like SATA and USB 3.0 along w/ all the normal stuff like audio ports etc that pretty much all modern z87's have.

You should definitely get the i5 4670k. Intel progresses every two years, unlike AMD. AMD just adds more cores to their processors to compensate for the shitty architecture. Compare the i5 4670k to the 1090t on AnandTech Bench and be amazed.

It's got an i5(haswell series, can't recall the exact model this second) 1.6ghz - 2.6ghz

~£10

>ASRock B75 Pro-3 M
£50+, seems like a decent board.

Couldn't find anyone selling one. They still sell for 100 or so quid new so I was thinking somewhere in the region of 80 quid. She barely uses it, it's good as new.

~£50

And that's all it really has no. Graphics card other wise I'd buy it off her at a cut rate to mine with.

So I'm a long time usenet user (20 years or so). Recently the past years usenet has been hit with various dmca trolling so it has occasionally been a pain downloading stuff. Honestly it depends on how high you want your framerate. I think the 780 with the i5 will handle anything you throw at it for the next 5 years, but if you want that extra couple FPS go for the i7. I wouldn't get the 780 ti, I would just get the i7 and the 780. I use an AMD FX6300 with a GTX 760 and my framerate is where I want it to be.

Well there are tons of releases that are passworded every hour. There are plenty of 22-50GB releases which I suspect are bluray rips. They are also named with hashes which implies there is a database somewhere with correct release name and password.
>how do you find the req id list? is there a request site?
It's all on irc. I use:
http://abmoovee.allfilled.com/reqs.php?fetch=posted&page=1

It works for the normal sd, 720p and 1080p re encodes. Just paste the req id into binsearch or use the links.

regular backups either to an external hdd or over the network to a nas. raid provides redundancy, so you're server won't just go down in the middle of the night, but if something fucks up your data like malware, accidental deletion, or even memory errors or corruption, it's just mirrored in the array or zpool. in it we have a 3-2-1 rule for mission critical backups- make 3 backups, on 2 different types of media, and store one offsite. you don't have to get that crazy with it at home though, i personally keep my nas backed up to a 3tb usb drive.
