Idling in the background, not using it at all, skype is using CPU and Disk.
Botnet is real.
>>62435936
Look with httpdebugger pro, it queries some ad service every 5 seconds.
>>62436160
Damnit skype.
I'll have to get an ad blocking hosts file.

Literally no reason to stick for W7 unless you want some DX 12 gaems (very VERY few).
OP go back to /v/
Are you also waiting™ for windows 11?
Its too comfy in windows 7 right now.

will this get my foot in the door?
>>62435876
no. you lips around a dick would, tho.
>it 'certifications'
I can't seem to get a job, and I think it's because I don't have a CS degree. I just thought that maybe showing people I know it with a certification will be stronger than just saying I know it without one. Any suggestions?
Are there any amd Am4 apus?
About to order g4600 will be using it without gpu until Christmas.
>>62435586
there are but they are not ryzen based, they are bulldozer/piledriver.
To answer your question no, there are none worth getting currently.
>>62435617
So I should go with Kaby lake 4600?
>>62435683
if you have no gpu and you NEED to have a working pc until christmas you have no other option . I like ryzen and for 105 dollars you can get an 8 core ryzen . however you would not be able to use it without a gpu .
either intel or amd will be fine though

When will the Linux kernel upgrade to GPL v3?
>>62435202
Never. It's not even an "upgrade", it's a downgrade.
>>62435630
it's literally an improvement in every way, that is why it's v3
>>62435813
Yeah, insane improvement, probably why Linus didn't "upgrade" from v2. In fact even v2 itself is a bad license sometimes.
I've been reading random text files from the good ol' days and noticed that the files that included guides on how to make potent poisons like ricin and some other insane shit like growing scopolamine plants are gone.
Anyone else have those files? Before someone loses their shit this is being done in the name of archiving, because the websites content is so small in size I keep a local backup so I can read from emacs.
Related sites about text files / pre 2000s content welcome.
>>62435162
yeah there is a lot of fun stuff there
I like the series by the theif, telling how robbed his post office 3 times in a single year
>no adds
>no colors
>no disgusting mug of the author
>not a dozen different social media links
>no bullshit, no PC
Wish textfile culture would come back.
ayyy, who remembers the jolly roger cookbook with all those fake bomb recipes and shit?
I printed that entire fucker out on my mom's deskjet 540. my god, those were the days.

Sorry for typo.
This is not okay.const int* const foo(const int* const x) const;
Who in their right mind decided using a keyword for this many purposes was an acceptable thing to do?
>>62435102
This only shows 2 meanings of `const`---the const after the function which means the function doesn't modify the object it's a member function of, then the `const` in the type names just means the same thing but is attached to different parts of the type (const pointer to const int)
But really you shouldn't make the values themselves const in C++ and nobody ever does that. You normally just make the thing that's referenced / pointed to const, so instead you should doconst int *foo(const int *x) const;
which means "(non-const) pointer to const int"
>>62435102
>(const int* const x
Why the fuck would you do that? passing an int is just as same as passing a pointer
>>62435238
It was an intentionally retarded example
I understand C++ is all about letting you shoot yourself in the foot, but reusing const for more than one purpose seems cluttered to me
Why should I purchase anything but a Moto G5 plus?
cause redmi note 4 is better.
>>62435089
you should buy a gun and shoot yourself
>>62435089
Vanilla G5 has a replaceable battery.
Hello /g/
I'm interested in learning to code to advance my career. I haven't taken a coding course since highschool and I was never particularly good at it. But I want to make more money and upgrade the prestige of some of the projects I work.
Anyway. I want to make a tool that combines two sets of data that only share first and last name in the data set.
An Excel sort doesn't work because the data in each line isn't exactly the same and one set has more names than another.
At the moment we have to do all of this but hand and takes forever.
Anyway. As I learn a little code I would like to eventually learn to make this type of program.
Can anyone give me some guidance on where to start? Where to focus my attention when learning?
Thanks!
Bumb
>>62435036
Sounds like python would probably be a good start for that since it's not too complicated. I'd suggest going to Udemy and buying a course there on python. They're having a sale for $12 on a lot of the developer ones. I'm getting a few so I thought I'd pass that along
>>62435036
Just start with Python (I recommend using iPython, I wish I would've known about iPython earlier in my Python career). I personally would recommend going through this free online book (Python with Data Science), although it's a bit dry at times, you probably don't need the last chapter which deals with Machine Learning and maybe even pandas too: https://jakevdp.github.io/PythonDataScienceHandbook/
Basically, get good at using Python in general, learn to use iPython will save you lots of time and headache. Learn the numpy library and pandas as well if you want. Lots of other Python libraries out there and don't give up, you need to have the hunger for this type of stuff so force yourself to it. Good luck.
Didn't see a guts thread, so here's one.
