Anyone know? I tried Ubuntu + KDE, KDE fell apart and was glitchy as all fuck, I installed the Nvidia drivers for my 1050 ti but X had a problem where it would use all my CPU usage when moving windows around, etc.

I never have had problems with KDE.

I don't know if I'm just retarded, but I've been using linux for around a year now and I always run into some bullshit problems. I'm pretty much ready to just give up on it at this point.

Maybe it's not the OS but the hardware?

Hey autists I need your help.

I'm austictly addicted to the game stacker in arcades and I was wondering if it's possible to download the rom and en emulator to play on PC.

I've heard of MAME but I could not find a rom and the fags @ reddit are a bunch of anti-piracy hypocrites and they won't tell me.

Help a brother out /g/.. please?

stacker is custom made i believe. there are some custom versions i think, or you could make your own (fun programming project!)

Hey /g/,

There's this thing I cant get over for a few years now and I just can't let it go... Maybe a few of you can relate or even help:

I own a Lenovo Laptop (B580 Series) that I am completely happy with... BUT of course the battery is getting lame after over 4 years of use. So what do I do - I buy a generic no-name battery made to fit this Laptop for only about 30$.
The thing arives, i stick it in and boot the laptop.
But right away the laptop somehow recognizes that its a fake battery and doesn't let me charge it because it's "concerned about my safety". It tells me to buy an original one.

SHIT!

So, after thinking about what I can do, clever me buys an original Lenovo External-Charger. (Hard to get where I live and not too cheap either, but by now I'm doing this also partially with an idealistic motivation because, you know, I can't let Lenovo win and let them tell me what to do...!)

BUT EVEN THAT Thing doesn't charge the battery!

What the heck can I do?!?!

What the fuck are these SMART values made in? It's not in hex because "001B0000002A" means nothing in decimals.

Seriously why are manufacturers so autistic?

Perhaps it is not a measurement of temperature. Those values vary wildly.

Im considering flashing an open source BIOS onto my motherboard.

The machine is a linux server running a baremetal hypervisor (Xen)

Im working with a ms-7778 jasmine motherboard, which has a ROM recovery jumper and I can download the necessary ROM from hp to recover with should I brick it.

Anyone have any experience using any open source BIOS?

Coreboot, Libreboot, OpenBIOS, what can people tell me about these?

>>
>>61836099
Does coreboot support your motherboard?
If not then give up.
>>
>>61836227
none of them list my motherboard as supported.

I shoudn't even try then, huh?
>>
>>61836099

Why haven't you invested in siacoin yet, /g/? It is challenging tradditional cloud storage, and has interesting benefits over them.
>Sia splits apart, encrypts, and distributes your files across a decentralized network. Since you hold the keys, you own your data. No outside company can access or control your files, unlike traditional cloud storage providers.
>Sia's decentralized cloud is on average 10x less expensive than current cloud storage providers. Storing 1TB on Sia costs about $2 per month, compared with $23 on Amazon S3. Calculate your savings below!
>Sia stores tiny pieces of your files on dozens of nodes across the globe. This eliminates any single point of failure and ensures highest possible uptime, on par with other cloud storage providers.
If the devs do this correctly sia is going to have a pretty good future. You want to be rich someday, right?

But what's the latency like? Can I access it over HTTP? FTP? Or what?

Can I use it as a CDN, or would I need some kind of proxy?

You can't really have high yields on such a die with a interposer, probably around 60%, which is still respectable.

If yields were really shit you'd have a third bin a5 around 46-52 CU

>Trolls, you’ll find them in every corner of the web and they come in every shape and size from annoying little flicks that tick you off with a stabby little insult to more offensive racist, sexist, misogynist, or frankly life threatening online harassment. Today, we’ll feed the trolls, stand up to them, learn who they are, how to cope with them, and how to beat trolls at their own game.
