Heres the deal. I have a win7 and ubuntu dual boot system, and I have a kali usb which I created on ubuntu using the instructions for linux on the kali site. The issue is that when I plug it in and start my computer, it doesn't even recognise it and simply move on to the ubuntu boot manager screen. I've tried changing ports, the usb is recognised once I login to ubuntu but I just can't get it to boot fom the usb.

I also compared the sha256 hash provided on the kali site with the sha256 i generated from the .iso file, and they match.

>inb4 BIOS boot order
I set that to boot from external media first months ago, and receched it after my first attempt at booting into the kali usb. Its all in order.

Also, I have a GParted live usb which boots just fine.

Please help me figure this out.

>>
>>61875361
I don't know how they tell you to create the boot media, but

dd bs=4M if=/path/to/kali_linux.iso of=/dev/sdx status=progress && sync

Turn on computer computer -> Enter bios settings -> Select temporary boot device -> usb storage

voila

Just tell me definitively, no bullshit, no walking around the question, no long paragraphs that explain nothing, no dumb ass assumptions that don't even remotely relate to me. I'll spell it out in plain English so you can please, PLEASE give me step-by-step, REAL instructions.

I have a computer. It is running WINDOWS 10, HOME, 64-BIT.

There is a C drive, named Windows. That is the default drive, where all the data is stored. For some reason it's tiny as fuck (110 GB).

The other 931 GB is on a D drive, called New Volume.

Looking at TWO (2) different partition management tools, Windows (C:) is on "Disk 1", and New Volume (D:) is on "Disk 2".

Because of that, it is IMPOSSIBLE to merge them. The same can be said about the computer's Disk Management, which is absolute bullshit.

How the fuck do I merge the two drives OR use (D:) instead of (C:)?

Again, NO BULLSHIT, I AM PISSED.

What's a fair price to pay my friend to clean the dust out of my Case, and re-seat my heatsink with new thermal paste(provided)?

I'm too lazy to clean it and the thermal paste is like 5 years old and my bad motor skills make it a cunt to re-seat.

6-pack of booze and a pizza to share? Or something else food related.

If you really want to pay him money, then I guess it depends on your own financial situation and what's a nice tip within your budget. Maybe $10-20, I guess?

Personally, if I were the one doing the cleaning, I wouldn't really want anything, except continued friendship. It's a really simple task (though I may or may not want to use some newer thermal paste, if I had some available).

Yeah, I'd expect some beer if I were your friend as a thanks, no formal payment. That's for kikes.

Pen/Mechanical Fans Unite!

Writing technology thread because written technology has come a long way and is still used extensively for personal use despite digitalization

Post your collections, favorite pens mechanicals, etc. and discuss what you like about them

Topic of the day (help is appreciated):
Is gel ink technology inferior? (or am I using it wrong?)

Every gel ink pen I have used from Pilot tend to clog up after about halfway through the ink capacity. The inkflow decreases and does not come back. There are some suggestions about heating up the tip of the point or actually removing it but this doesn't really restore inkflow to the original out of box flow. These pens were obviously not being engineered with this level of maintenance in mind

Does anyone have advice? I really like the hitec-c and V5 Pilots but this constant problem leaves me considering ballpoint tech which just werks

This looks good. I like the retractable mechanism and the thin barrel
Thanks for the suggestion
Gel is more expensive and the uneven inkflow really itches my autism since I like using my pens until they run out of ink
