well, now that this has gone down the shitter, any alternatives??
looking for a good UI browser with add-on capabilities and isnt a botnet
>>62005823
Waterfox is a great alternative. It is basically Firefox but with less bloat, no telemetry spyware, and does not use google analytics. You would be doing yourself a huge favor by installing it.
Waterfox also supports the Firefox add ons.

Would WW2's /g/ have been able to break Enigma?
>>62005742
/g/ would be fapping to young alan turing in knee highs
Literally a botnet
Can you install Gentoo on enigma? If yes we have a chance.
>buys a MacBook Pro
>only uses it for email, surfing the web and writing documents
Why do so many normies unironically do this?
>it juts werks :D
Their parents don't know any better
You know that MacBook pros post-2015 are not meant for professional use, right?
Unless you guys give me a good, non-meme reason not to, I'm ditching my Android/LineageOS phone for a 6S tomorrow.
Have any of you /g/entoomen switched? Do you miss anything from Android? Does iOS have any annoying quirks I'm not aware of?
>>62005444
Here's a good reason not to: you should get a 7 in Jet Black instead. 6S is going to be old news come September.
>>62005444
All smartphones are shit. I wanna get rid of my 6S and get a flip phone.

Why does the iPhone 7 plus take so fucking long to charge? I returned mine because it would take 3-5 hours to go to 100% but it turns out it's "normal"? Now my oneplus 3t charges to 100% in less than an hour.
>>62005436
Why isn't the Galaxy S8 series in this chart? Is it because the entire lineup charges so quickly that it would be embarrassing to show it alongside the iPhone 7's shit charge time?
It takes so long to charge because Lightning is a terrible standard.
Because Apple's includes 1A charger, you need to get a 3rd party 2.4A if you want it to be faster.
>There are people on /g/ that unironically use VLC as their default video player, despite that MPC-HC is dead in the water now
Do you have anything to say for yourselves in your defense, VLC users of /g/?
It just werks
it just works
Just works
there hasn't been a single interesting technology product in the past 7 years or so besides ryzen. vr was a big flop and there's nothing to look forward to
I don't think VR has really happened yet, the next gen might actually be compelling.

VINETTO-CHAN DAISUKI

people have been saying this for 30 years
Is it really that bad?
it werks
>>62004769
Far from the best.
But if you already got your system up and running - don't bother with distro hopping.

[fails after a couple hundred uses]
>>62004730
The cable usually fails before that, only the shitty cheap ones tho. I really liked Mini USB, it was so sturdy compared to the flimsy micro USB.
>>62004763
I agree mini USB was much better than micro.
That's what you get for being a poorfag
Let's have a Game Development Thread
Watcha working on /g/?
>>62004520
No.
Also not gonna help you "code" your shitty indie game.
>>62004520
Game dev is a waste of time.
I'm outside a Google office. What should I do?

>>62004332

American based, so NSA backdoored
Horrible GUI. Slow as shit.
>someone refers to programming as "coding"

>someone refers to operating a motor vehicle as "driving"
>someone refers to kinographic entertainment as "movie"
Programming is using compiled languages.
Coding is interpreted.
>run Windows on metal
>get OK performance
>run Windows in a VM on Linux host
>get +20% better disk performance
>everything installs and downloads faster
Why?
>>62003512
Can someone confirm this?
VMs noop fsync to cheese benchmarks.
>>62003549
I can confirm this.
