Why is everyone shitting on AMD?
Higher Vega prices are due to miners, high demand = higher prices, jewvidya would have done the same
>>62020419
They already done the same, it was called the founders edition
Its okay when nvidia does it
>>62020450
>founders edition
It's ok, AMD already did the same thing
Frontier edition, except it was 1,000
>>62020419
it's shit if you want to do extreme overclocking. amd is only good in my book for budget builds and low to medium-level processing for online things
Why ever dual boot?
gem and the hologams
Frogpost on windows, awoopost on Linux.
fucking about in a new os

I have been ripping my fucking hair out for 2 days trying to fix this and this is my last chance to fix this.
I have looked ALMOST EVERYWHERE on the internet to find a solution to my microphone problem.
I can hear it in playback fine and audacity picks it up perfectly but for instance Discord doesn`t and nor does Skype.
What to i do?
>inb4 fuck off not your IT guy
I will condsider paying 5 euros in steam credit to the person that helps me fix this problem.
>>62020248
Try it on Linux.
>>62020307
lul fixed it just reinstalled discord
>>62020248
Well, what's your microphone? Did you ever install the drivers? Did you bother setting the proper input in Discord or Skype settings?
Was LTX a failure?
It only attracted 13 year olds and was in the middle of nowhere
I have no idea what LTX is, so I'm going to say yes.
>>62020235
>Bouncy castles
hhahhaahaha us nerds r so quirky xD
What's LTX? Sounds like a good way to meet nervous young boys seeking a masculine role model who could take advantage of their need for attention.
This shit will be in every laptop, and laptops are the most consumed PC in the world.

>up to 12 vega CUs
I just want a laptop that can replace my aging 980m, preferably also with a minimum 100Hz monitor, as that's what I have now.
>>62020222
Raven ridge won't be replacing parts that powerful. The 980M has 3.2 TFLOPS of FP32 and even 12 vega CUs @ 700 MHz can only crank out ~1 TFLOPS of FP32.
Raven ridge is designed to compete with intel "HD" graphics and compete with intel 15 and 35W TDP parts.
Bonus points for java

Been using Arch for 3 years and programming for 1 year. Still in college.
The jump from Ubuntu to Arch was unbelievably illuminating, is there a similar one from Arch to Gentoo?
>>62019918
Well...., not really. It depends on how you look at things. If you really want to get obsessive over the packages you install and their dependencies, and spend extra time waiting for them to install, and if you have a hate boner for systemd, then yeah, it might be enlightening or something. The pride in using Gentoo mostly comes from the extra work involved to set things up. It's kind of fun, but probably not worth the effort in the long run.
>>62019918
nope, but you'll spend a lot more time fixing things if you want an actually usable system
It's worth it if you don't run the "normal" nowadays Linux setup, and by that I mean you don't use systemd but rather something like busybox, you don't run an entire DE instead a wm, you don't run PulseAudio and so on and on.Also portage is a great package manager. But then again this fucking maymay of learning "the inner workings of Linux" by installing certain distros is retarded.

What about this?

So he's a Redditor now? I'm shocked
Is Deepin really a Chinese botnet like some say it is, or not, and it's just another /g/ meme? I'm leaning towards the latter at this point.
I think people have looked at it and found no evidence of it. It's a nice DE, but I've heard the distro itself leaves a lot to be desired.
>>62019800
it is free as in freedom, so if it is botnet - they choose the worst license for that stuff.
I've used the distro myself. Some aspects of the system and support will be in Chinese. So unless you can read and understand Chinese, I don't recommend it.
I just got a new laptop and need a drawing tablet
Whichave are the best, what do you use?
>>62019650
you can draw on your tablet by writing in binary
>>62019776
you can write in binary by writing on your tablet with Jot™, only for Windows 10.

Anybody knows if anything has changed since Trump is in office on how the intelligence agencies operate?
Or is it still the old game of collecting everything?
All I heard was that the DOJ requested IPs from Dreamhost of 1,3 million users which visited anti trump websites.
Also which impact has the SJW on surveillance since the intelligence agencies outsource pretty much as much as possible jobs to IT security companies?
Lets say SJWs work at these IT security companies, who ensures that they don't collect data on their own of their "ideologically enemy"?
>>62019570
If you seriously thought that Trump would even be smart enough to know the depth of NSA surveillance, or understand why it's unconstitutional, then you were played.
This is the same guy who said this:It sounded bad to me. Digital. They have digital. What is digital? And it’s very complicated, you have to be Albert Einstein to figure it out. And I said—and now they want to buy more aircraft carriers. I said, “What system are you going to be—” “Sir, we’re staying with digital.” I said, “No you’re not. You going to goddamned steam, the digital costs hundreds of millions of dollars more money and it’s no good.”
He has no idea how anything post 1970 works. He certainly doesn't oppose spying on any moral grounds either, he sued The Onion for making fun of him, he doesn't give a shit about civil rights.

no one.
All the libfags here who tell you go back to /pol/ are arch + GNU Linux using anime pedophiles.

Where do you get "textured" low-profile TrackPoint caps? I can only find the "soft dome" type (pic related)
Do they just not make them? The "soft dome" ones leave an indentation on my finger.

I've noticed a lot of people have been wondering why Intel is so successful and AMD is considered an underdog, and this is my take on it.
Computer building is a niche market, and AMD products appeal to a niche market within that niche market. The average Joe doesn't need eight or six cores, a massive L1/2/3 Cache or overclockability for his computer.
Intel is so popular because their CPUs are accessible. If you look at any non-enthusiast prebuilt computer in an electronics store, I guarantee that if you checked the specs you'd most often find an Intel processor powering it. And for the average Joe, what specific Intel processor occupies the computer doesn't matter as long as it gets his work done and/or provides him entertainment, which in nine out of ten cases it will.
Intel also has brand recognition; from their commercials, to their jingle, to the "Intel Inside" logo that you'll see on a sticker on those pre-builts. I'm sure a lot of people don't even know AMD as a company exists, and that's their own fault for not even trying to advertise. But we've all seen an Intel commercial, and we've all heard Intel getting name-dropped in commercials for laptops and other products.
AMD knows their market, the enthusiasts, while Intel knows theirs, the casual users and sometimes gamers. It really is as simple as that. /g/ is comprised of enthusiasts and that's why they love AMD and hate Intel, and that's also why Intel is more popular than AMD, because casual users outnumber enthusiasts.
>AMD is for the enthusiast.
>/g/ loves amd

What are some ways to make money online? Im a student about be drowned in debt
>drowned in debt
Why?
>>62019419
My family didn't have enough money to send me and i didn't ask for more to prevent a hard situation for them.
But instead i have debts around 30$k to banks now, in total ofc.

If you're cute you could be a gay camwhore. If you're a good artist people will pay money for people to draw porn for them. Furfags especially, but pretty much any fetish will serve.
