What do you mean?
There is a fundamental problem with the way software design is taught at the university level.
Even self-taughts are guilty of this shit.
Why are competent programmers so hard to find?
>There is a fundamental problem with the way software design is taught at the university level
Which is?
>>58640112
because today every incompetent oaf is told they can be a programmer after a 1 day crash course/bootcamp
>>58640112
Is the poster of this actually Yandere Dev?
We may never know!
I mean, he did come to /v/ for the initial stuff.
Why not /g/?
What is this written in, though?
I don't normally see PascalCase.
Why is it using else ifs instead of a switch? This isn't Python...
(although, desu, Python is pretty good. I use it for my DiscordBot)
What is with the direct use of class variables, though? Why are you not encapsulating it and using an accessor function??
it's a bluetooth typewriter with programmable return lever.
how badly do you want one, /g/?
reddit shit
>>58640060
The entire fucking benefit of a typewriter is that you can't instantly delete what you wrote and have to pick your words better and go on despite typos.
I just installed this after people kept shilling it for the past few days. It actually is faster than regualr firefox.
>>58640030
>implying you're not the same shill
>implying it's not placebo
>>58640085
I'm not the same shill. I don't use shitty ass linux.
>>58640101
sounds like something the shills would say
What does this mean? What does typing speed have to do with technology?
>>58640007
it means you're slow
>>58640025
>top 8%
>slow
It's slow by /g/ standards though
>>58640095
That's the average on /g/. You ever been on these kinds of threads before?
100+ is where a true /g/ regular would be at.
Sources: Samsung is hoarding Qualcomm's supply of Snapdragon 835 for Galaxy S8, forcing rivals like LG and HTC to use older Snapdragon 821 processor
http://www.forbes.com/sites/bensin/2017/01/23/the-lg-g6-wont-have-snapdragon-835-because-the-galaxy-s8-has-first-dips/
Why is this allowed?
The 821 is still a damn good chip. That's not so bad. This should teach everyone to not support Samsung... but fags and normies will still buy them.
>>58639944
Goes to show that their Exynos shit isn't good. Kek.
>>58639944
>Have money to buy the whole supply
>STOP HAVING MONEY YOU BIG MEANY
ok?
tfw whatever you're good at, smarter people are trying to make obsolete or automatized, open source cucks are trying to make free and pajeets are willing to do for cheaper.
This industry has no future.
>>58639874
Dumb frogposter
>>58639874
so what you're saying is that that old sysadmin quip about "go away or I'll replace you with a shell script" is actually true in your case?
You're no smarter than a pajeet, but you want to be paid several times what he gets. The code you write isn't as good as what's available in free software, but you want to be paid to write it. You don't know how to do anything that's valuable or that a machine can't do.
Why should anyone have any sympathy for your plight?
>>58639874
>smarter people are trying to make obsolete or automatized
this is a cycle that never ends as long as science keeps progressing
>open source cucks are trying to make free
deep down you know this is the right thing to do. If putting tabasco in tomato soup can't be patented for obvious reasons, why should combining some programming structures in a certain way be patentable?
>pajeets are willing to do for cheaper.
the only legit problem these days, they do it badly for cheap and managers only see the "cheap" part, not the "badly" part
This is my first time buying a domain name. How do I go about it?
What specs should my xeon/server have to handle the load of a website?
>>58639850
>godaddy
don't do that. Don't even search for a domain name there, they'll snatch it so that you can't register it for less from another company. Use Namecheap.
>>58639873
>don't do that. Don't even search for a domain name there, they'll snatch it so that you can't register it for less from another company. Use Namecheap.
This. GoDaddy is pure trash.
>>58639873
Alright name a few more good sites for buying domains then tell me what's next. I of course will go for .com because it's the most common.
So... what vpn does /g/ use and why?

want to get a cue ball or some shit for it.
/g/ I have a problem. After trying out Ubuntu GNOME in a VM, I became really fond of the UI and decided to properly install it on my PC. Problem is, whenever I start up the mouse and WiFi don't work. The mouse pointer is just stuck at the top left. The mouse works in that I can move it around and it has an "invisible" pointer, but it's pretty much unusable without being able to see where I'm moving it. Did some research and found out this is a problem with NVIDIA drivers not being installed, but since I can't connect to WiFi it's pretty difficult to install these.
I tried to install the WiFi drivers but these require lots of dependencies (gcc, libc6-dev, etc.). Obviously I can't just apt install these. IS there any good way to install packages along with all dependencies without having net access? I have internet access on my Windows partition so ideally I'd like to install the .deb packages there, then transfer these to the Ubuntu partition and install them manually. How to do this?
I would connect to your network with an ethernet cable if possible. otherwise you are going to be installing everything one file at a time. unless you can run a virtual box under windows and chroot into your linux install
>>58639817
I tried an ethernet cable but it didn't recognize it. Could it be a problem with motherboard drivers not being installed on the Linux partition, or was the calbe just faulty?
Conect to an ethernet cable, then go to settings, software, additional drivers and select the nvidia driver, it will install and then reboot.
Heh, anyone remember pic related?
