So, what's a good OOP language, considering C++ is shit?
And don't give me the "OOP is bad" shit since it's impossible to work on the industry these days without having to use OOP.
Why should I not mask Tor as FireFox stable?
Isn't not being a special snowflake the whole point of using tor?
>>58647210
I assume most people won't access a website using FireFox 45.7, but rather with 51.
>>58647195
Because that's useless and retarded ?

If you don't use GPU passthrough in your virtual machine, you're doing it wrong.
>having 2 monitors
Settle down Neo.
If my CPU had an iGPU I might try it.
But for now I'd need a 2nd dGPU and getting two dGPUs to cooperate i've heard can be a pain in the ass depending how the PCIe lanes are configured.
>>58647080
Is there a way to run the host with graphic output while a VM with GPU passthrough is running?
Is google chrome the only one able to use web push notifications with youtube? This thing is so usefull
>>58646992
What the hell is a web push?
>>58647018
This. You basically get notifications from certain websites if you opt in.
>>58647018
If you click the bell next to the suscribe button, you receive a notification on google chrome everytime the channel puts a video out. This shit seems to work only with google chrome, I wonder if someone manage to make it work with any other browser
Hey /g/. I'd like some help with building a PC.
I'll be graduating in 4 months. I already have a cushy $110,000 job. So that's about $9,000 a month. Shave off 40% to taxes, healthcare, my 401k, and others. Shave off another $2200 for rent (fucking Silicon Valley). And another $500 for utilities, food (my company has free breakfast, lunch and dinner). That leaves me with $2,700 of disposable income a month. I will be getting a signing bonus of $18k though (one-time).
I have mostly only played Civ 5/6. I'd like to get into gaming, but first person shooter isn't really my taste. There are probably tons of other games I'd like.
So my budget is around $2500 for the entire computer. What's the best build I can get at that price? Everything's gotta be new.
I do NOT want gay RGB keyboards. I don't want rainbow lighting inside my CPU case. I do like mechanical keyboards though (tried them in a store; don't have experience with prolonged use, but I hear it's good).
Thanks a lot!

That's easy OP.
7700k + z270 motherboard + 32GB Ripjaws V DDR4-4000 + GTX 1080 + Samsung 950 pro M.2 1TB
Case, monitor(s), kbd, mouse, OS that you like.
Should come to under $2000.
>>58646926
Nice blog.
Seriously why the fuck do we care about your expenses.
>So my budget is around $2500 for the entire computer.
Just pay some one to do it for you. You sound like you'll fuck it up either way.
>I do NOT want gay RGB keyboards. I don't want rainbow lighting inside my CPU case
Woop-de-fucking-do.

Why does /g/ continue to insist that PCs are better than Macs in any way?
- Best consumer UNIX OS on the planet
- Award winning build quality and reliability
- Doesn't get viruses unlike that bloated piece of shit Windows
- A whole suite of professional level software, along with the best of GNU utilities
- Bundled with the best web browser (Safari) and the best music player (iTunes) that can be found on a computer OS
- High quality aluminum and glass enclosures
- High quality display panels
- The best warranty on the market
Name ONE other laptop that
- Runs the best consumer OS on the planet
- Uses the best designed logic board on the planet
- Has the highest quality 16:10 LCD panel on the market
- Has the best trackpad and keyboard on the market
- Is the most durable laptop on the planet without going into ruggedized military shit (inb4 shitty plastic ChinkPad)
- Comes with the objectively best warranty on the planet
So as we've proven, Mac boxes have the objective superiority over PC boxes. It is a fact, trying to deny as such is like trying to deny the sky is blue.
If /g/ doesn't accept every claim I've stated, then that means /g/ is the shittiest board on 4chan that can't face the fact that Apple is the best computer company in the world even though it's been objectively proven here today. If you disagree, you're an autist troll and I will report you for trolling outside of /b/.
>>58646905
Do you know how I know this is pasta
Apple knows how to make memes for autist spergs.
Step 1: Give excellent hardware that costs A on regular retail
Step 2: Sell said hardware at twice the price of retail
Step 3: The autistic spergs are too star-struck
It's generally a good scheme, fool them about excellence, sell them something actually good, but with a ludicrous markup.
The autists don't realize not all PCs are created equal, and especially on the desktop. You don't have to buy a shitty Dell. You can build a masterpiece, but you have to avoid being an autistic sperg that follows meme marketing talks in tech shows blindly.
Ok /g/entlemen, lets settle this for once
What is the general consensus on learning PHP? Is it "le trash babbys first webdev lang" or is it actually worth learning? Considering pay and job availability, one could think its still worth it but with all the FOTM frameworks and meme languages popping out lately, confusion ensues.
Also, PHPv7 is apparently aeons faster than its predecessors, so why does everybody in /g/ demonize this language?
>PHP
lmao go back to codeacademy faget
If you abide by /g/ standards, you will end up coding C in Vim for a lost cause (say, kernel contributions for a dead-end linux dist)
PHP is legit. By all means, learn it.
>>58646945
>go back to code academy
>learning isn't allowed and I'm gonna mock you for trying to learn anything
You are the problem.

> open firefox
> let's try chrome to see if works and to download our online profile from google

> find it
> google suggests a .deb so it's ready right there and supported
> click download and open with the only available package manager
> it turns out that package manager is not even an installer, on a fucking Live USB of more than 1GB+
> you have to install it on the console or on another GUI manager after you install it
AHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
10-20 years they had for that basic shit and they chose to ignore it. Google gives you a .deb on Firefox and you can't even install it with one click on a live USB of more than 1GB of files.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
But I have to admit Fedora did it almost immediately. Torvalds runs Fedora (/tips Fedora). But then Chrome wouldn't open at all on a 1.5Gig USB linux,
Jesus fucking christ.
Even if it just worked it would be a problem with all that third party software that are just knock-offs of proper software.
Linux is a lost cause. Only for servers it's great.
It's not really even for Development that great.
I won't even attempt to talk about Design.
