I'm in top ranked school. Students here are hyper competitive. Our professor released an assignment last night and students are posting on piazza that they submitted it already but have not received a grade yet and wondering when they will receive a grade, that they been waiting for 2 hours. They post non-anon so everyone can see them. I see this more as "attention whoring" than an actual concern. These projects take 10+ hours to complete on average, so these kids must have spent all day working on it and are non-trivial.

Also I've only ever used Ubuntu, Arch, and elementary OS which I far favored so I stopped exploring Linux distros. Redpill me on KDE

Why are not using Chrome OS on your laptop?

Its seriously the best, and lightest OS I ever used. I have a few older laptops that I mostly use for browsing the web from the comfort of my own bed. These serve no other purpose other than simple browsing.
I have been running Windows 10 on my 9 year old model, it ran fine. I tried Arch on it, Mint, Ubuntu, Lubuntu, and some other distros, and nothing runs anywhere near as fast, or smooth, Chrome OS. Not to mention the best looking GUI I've seen in a while. The laptop boots in 4 seconds, and shutdowns even faster. Virtually no issues on the aging hardware. Its essentially just a Chrome browser.

I rarely see it discussed here. Everyone is always asking about the best light distro to use, so why not give Chrome OS a try.

What is the best flowchart software and why? Bonus points if you know of flowchart software where you link flowcharts together (ie. cliick on a node in flowchart and have it expand into a more detailed flowchart detailing that part of the system. Even more bonus points if open source.

i just installed gentoo and i dont know what all the fus about the instillation is. if you just follow the handbook its easy to install. thought gentoo was just a meme but its pretty good
